MFT Sketch Challenge 513

Yes, I know I made a card for this challenge already, but this design is so striking, and while I'm still in card making mode, I decided to use this challenge with a Christmas theme this time.

I love this adorable little gnome by Stamping Bella, but I haven't used it before because I'm a wuss when it comes to fussy cutting. It's only because I simply hate doing it. LOL But he is so sweet, I decided he would be perfect for today's card.

My Favorite Things, Color 152 and Sketch challenge 513

I thought I had made the last Halloween card of the season, but the newest color challenge is a very Halloweeny combo, so I made another. Granted, this doesn't have to be a Halloween color combination, but I was still in the Halloween groove and this one came together in a matter of minutes. Hope you like.

My Favorite Things, Sketch 512

I had some plaids left from Online Card Class, Simply Watercolor Christmas and used it for this sketch challenge. I liked that the shapes were somewhat small so I was able to use the best parts of my painting as this was one of my less stellar attempts. LOL What I was able to salvage worked great for this card design though. Pardon the angles, it wasn't easy getting a photo of the super shiny gold paper without a reflection.

My Favorite Things, Sketch 512

Products used:
My Favorite Things, Smooth White card stock
Bazzill red card stock
Canson XL series water color paper
Quickutz star dies
Lawn Fawn, "joy" die
Distress Inks, twisted citron, peeled paint, fired brick
Metallic gold cardstock, foam tape

Simply Watercolor Christmas, Day 5

I LOVE PLAID! But man, I struggled with this one so much, I have to admit right off the bat. Give me a pen, or a pair of scissors and I can do straight lines all day - but this paint brush and watercolor!?? Holy Hannah, I couldn't get a even a decent imposter. LOL So, after practicing every day after finishing the actual class for that day, I finally got a reasonable facsimile of straight lines and was able to finish my projects for plaid class!! On top of that, I'm really pleased with my finished cards. I hope you like them!!

I immediately fell in love with this cozy gray and red plaid by Kristina Werner. After so many tries I lost count (I am not exaggerating, I must have tossed at least a dozen attempts in the trash before finally getting one I loved!) but finally my finished product made the grade. The heart is just a portion of it; I have enough left for a second card for later.

For the gold stripe in my buffalo plaid, I used metallic pen as I have no gold paint. But I think it worked great and added just the extra Christmassy touch. And the red plaid is a perfect addition. The sentiment is embossed in gold to match perfectly back to the plaid.

Simply Watercolor Christmas, Day 8

Today's card design comes from Debby Hughes. I love her work and can only pretend to do her card justice with my rendition. LOL

First disclaimer, I do not have watercolor paints so all of my 'watercolor' cards are painted using Distress Inks. Frankly, I love them and I can get pretty much any color I want from them or a combination thereof. Except gold and white. Those I have to improvise with other crafty tools. Nevertheless, I hope you like my card. Thanks for looking!

Distress Ink colors I used:
Aged Mahogany
Worn Lipstick
Festive Berries
Candied Apple
Forest Moss
Crushed Olive
Pine Needles
Iced Spruce
Walnut Stain

Simply Watercolor Christmas, Day 7

Today's class, Words and Typography. I used one of the provided templates for my card. It turned out great, if I do say so. That is, after my first attempt (see below) where I dropped my brush not once but twice. What can I say. LOL

Here is my finished card for today's class. I love it.

Ummm, yeah.

For my watercolors, I used Ranger Distress Inks, fired brick, worn lipstick, forest moss, and twisted citron. I embellished the letters with white pen and gold pen.

Christmas theme box card

Every time I make one of these box cards, it spurs more ideas for the next one. I can't stop making them! For this one, I used Holiday Penguins stamp set among others.

And, of course, the main feature of this style card is that it folds flat for mailing. You no longer have to wonder how you're going to share your fun creations with those across the miles. Simply fold, stuff and mail. They'll be in awe of your craftyness!!

Outside the Box Fall Challenge, My Favorite Things

Entry #2 for this challenge. I had to use the new Doodlebug Pumpkin Spice paper pad that is so adorably sweet, and the MFT Harvest Mouse stamp set is the perfect fit. Check out all the angles and see how much fun goodness I was able to fit into this one card. Which folds flat for mailing in a regular envelope, by the way!! (I know, right!!!? Gasp!)

If you look closely, you can see the basket of apples that is part of the Harvest Mouse set is now a basket of pumpkins. I used the copic multi-liner pen to turn the apples into pumpkins for this card. I love how cute they are!

And I hope you'll head over to the My Favorite Things store and purchase this die set. It will change your cardmaking life! Now, here's my card for this challenge. I love how it turned out. :)
