Melonheadz Friends new challenge -- Summer!

Happy new challenge day with the Melonheadz Friends Design Team! For today's card I used the Gone Fishing digi set. This little girl looks like Grace, who loves going fishing with grampa when she stays with us in the summer so I had to use this sweet image. Also, the fishing pole is included in the set.

I clear embossed fishing Grace, her fishing pole, and catch of the day and used foam tape to adhere her to the card. Also, I used Copic markers to color the images.

Here you can see the dimension and texture created by the foam tape and embossing powder. To come and play with us for this fun summer challenge, click the Melonheadz Friends link above.

Happy 61st Father's Day to my dad!

For my dad. :) I love a nautical theme and combined a few different companies' products to create my card. The actual card design itself is pinterest inspired.

The cute anchor is by Paper Smooches, from the Nauticool stamps and coordinating die sets. I used two of the fun circle dies by My Creative Time to create the life preserver, and the sentiment and flags are also by My Creative Time.

The woodgrain background stamp, jute twine, brads, and foam tape give the design extra dimension.

My Creative Time, Grainy Wood Background stamp
My Creative Time, 3x4 Journaling card die
My Creative Time, 4x4 Journaling card and more arrow die (for flags)

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge

My card for the Paper Smooches Anything Goes challenge. Super cute "we adore you" monsters for one of the grandgirls' birthday. Happy 11th birthday, Courtney!

I stamped the image first on the white mat piece for the front of the card, then three times on pattern paper and cut out each of the individual monsters. The sentiment, and the hearts too, come from the Paper Smooches Uplifters sentiments stamps.

My Favorite Things Color Challenge 22

Yummy color combination for this week's color challenge on the MFT card challenges blog! I just got my birthday package in the mail (thank you, hubby!!) and have to use the new watercolor flowers stamps and dies to create my card for this challenge. I LOVE those guys!!! These layered images are so much fun to stamp. I used the dies to mask off the larger flowers that I wanted to be in the front. The simple sentiment comes from an older stamp set from My Favorite Things called Just My Type. Here's my creation:

In addition to the watercolor flowers, I used the cross stitched rectangles dies and popped it off the page with foam tape.

Add a few sequins and a black twine bow and called it done. :)

Link up your completed challenge (see sidebar) (if you don't have a blog, you can link through flikr or other site such as that) OR on the facebook fan page here

Here's my version. I used the sketch to make a father's day card. The gold foil background is done with the My Favorite Things circle/dots background stamp, heat embossing, and gold foil from Thermoweb. I love that stuff!

Foam tape, various dies and stamps complete my card. Love this simple design. This sketch can be used for any occasion!
