MFT Sketch 556

I have to admit, I wasn't at all jazzed by this week's sketch. It struck me as 'meh' and I couldn't come up with any ideas to even enter the challenge. This morning I was determined to make it work, because, well I hate missing the sketch challenges. LOL Still looking at the sketch, my mind went to my 'maybe later' box of images colored for previous projects that didn't make it onto the finished product. PURE INSPIRATION!

My idea came together in a matter of minutes and I'm happy with the final result! Hope you like it too.

If you're like me, you have a box of goodies like this. If you don't have one, I highly recommend getting a pencil box (this time of year is prime pickings for usually 50¢ each during back to school) and keeping all the pieces you don't use right away. This is also a huge help when it comes to last minute birthday, party, or sympathy cards, not to mention Christmas cards. (TIP: You can make almost any image into a Christmas card by adding a santa hat, antlers, or a red nose.)
I have no copic color list for this one as all the images are from my 'maybe later' box. Sorry!

Honey Bee Stamps, Challenge #79

Challenge #79 is a tic-tac-toe challenge. I haven't done one of these in a long time! My three in a row are stamps, die cuts, and colored inks. I used distress inks to watercolor my images for this one, and this cute stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps called Let's Get Crafty.

The sentiment is Ellen Hutson. I combined two sets - All About You and Pure Magic, both designs by Julie Ebersole.

MFT Sketch 555

I've combined the sketch and slimline challenges this time, so we have a fall theme today. I really like how it turned out. The colors are pretty good together, I think.

I like to make "clusters" of images. I put them together before adding foam tape and adhering the whole bunch at once to the card.

Couple of summer cards

I know it's technically still summer, but it is winding down a bit with school starting soon, and in some areas, already begun. Before it's over though, I wanted to crank out a few more summer cards before diving into  fall and Christmas designs. Ellen Hutson's Summer of Stamping produced some really cute stamp sets. Along with the adorable Julie Ebersole designs which I still can't get enough of, I also picked up the Summer Circles set by Pretty Pink Posh made exclusively for Ellen Hutson. I used a couple of the images here along with sentiments from the Good Day set. (Links below.) Simple, and super fun!

MFT Color Challenge 171

It's time for another fabulous color combination from My Favorite Things. At first I wasn't all that thrilled with this combo, but then my card came together and I really like it! What do you think?

This adorable convertible and sweet Miss Single Lady is by Julie Ebersole for Ellen Hutson. I'm falling more and more in love with her super cute, no-nonsense simple designs. The images I used here are from the Good Day stamp set. For the background, I also added an extra touch using the rows of x-s from the Pattern Play set, also from Ellen Hutson.
I LOVE this sentiment set from My Favorite Things called I Love You More. The fonts are super cute and there are six large sentiments in the set. Check it out (link below).
Also, my love for foam tape never wanes! I love making layered "stickers" which is also a reason for my love of dies. I'm a die girl all the way, man. (Do you think I've used the word LOVE enough in this post?! LOL) Lots of love is never a bad thing. :)
