My Creative Time Design Team Day

Note: Scroll down to see my Scrapping Cottage project for today also!

Welcome to Thursday! Today's MCT project was to use the June release Inspiring Words, incorporated with the colors of red, white and blue.

Here's what I created!

I love making mini books. This one is a recycle idea I started making several years ago using junk mail. I hate throwing things away that can be re-purposed {Do not believe NikkiF--I'm not a hoarder or a packrat!!! LOL}.

This book started out like this. Throw-away gift cards, coupons and fake credit cards are the perfect size "page" for wallet sized photos. I used my Bind-it-All to -- well, bind it all. Haha!

I made this little book for Miss Grace, my scrapping buddy and granddaughter, who will stay with us this summer. She loves celebrating the 4th of July and I'm sure she'll have no problem finding pictures to go inside. Here are some of the inside pages using the Inspiring Words and Inspiring Accents stamp sets:

....and this page...

This quote is from the Encouraging Quotes set, also new this release.

Product list:
My Creative Time Inspiring Words
My Creative Time Inspiring Accents
My Creative Time Encouraging Quotes
Junk mail credit cards or used up gift cards
Patter papers by Doodlebug
Bazzill textured cardstock
Epoxy flag sticker by K&Co
Hearts, stars, tags die cuts by Quickutz
Ribbons by Offray
Binding by Zutter

I hope you enjoyed this project. If you haven't made one of these yet, please try it! They are so much fun and really make a great little "grandma's brag book", purse sized address book, photo album or anything else you want to put in there. You don't need a Bind it All or any binding machine to make one. You can use your Crop-o-dile to punch holes and bind with rings or ribbon. Really simple and fun! Thanks for looking. :)

Hello, sunshine!

Summer time is officially here - finally! - and what could be more appropriate than a bright and cheerful welcome for Mr. Sunshine. :) I love this summer sun die by Cottage Cutz.

For his sweet face I used one of the face stamps from the Cottage Cutz gingerbread doll set. Isn't it cute. :)

Sweeeeet!

Got the baking bug and decided to make some goodies this weekend. And what better way to share them than with the Sweet Simplicity release by Lifestyle Crafts! :)

I LOVE this cupcake stand. Can you "stand" it!? Adorbs! I made jumbo cupcakes though so I had to connect two cupcake wrappers to make one that fit. I also used a bbq skewer and one of the pennants from the DIY banner (previous release) to make this special cupcake. Oh and a pink bead on top. Turned out pretty cute if I do say so!

Product list:
paper by Imaginisce
bbq skewer
Quickutz mini heart die
Lifestyle Crafts DIY pennant
Lifestyle Crafts botanical cupcake wrapper

And I also made caramel corn.YUM! The adorable little popcorn cup is such fun and it holds surprisingly more than I expected it would.

I added the cute little piggy sticker to this one cuz that's how I am with caramel corn....a little piggy. HAHAHA!!

Product list:
October Afternoon, Farm Fresh papers and stickers
Lifestyle Crafts, Popcorn box die
homemade caramel corn! ;)

Have a great week, peeps! Thanks for coming by the studio today.

Clipboard embellishment pictorial

Had some inquiries about how I made this clipboard ...

... using the My Creative Time stamp from the Honey Do List set released during yesterday's blog hop.

So... here's how I did it!
First stamp the clipboard once on kraft, and once on white cardstock.

Next, cut out the kraft clipboard, and then cut the paper with the "clip" from the white paper. Color the clip. I used gold, but you could use silver or gray too.

Use a punch to make the paper look as though it's been torn from a notebook. I used the spiral edge punch by Stampin Up. Then rough up the edges and ink if desired.

Glue the paper to the clipboard just at the clippy portion on top, and put foam tape at the bottom. This makes it look more "real" like it's paper on a real clipboard. You don't HAVE to do the foam tape step, but that's how I did mine and it looks cool that way. LOL

Now stamp your message, add some foofyness ...

... and attach to your project! :) The family message, star, sun and moon are from My Creative Time, Encouraging Quotes. Other messages and ticket stamps from Autumn Leaves -- I *think* but I'm not positive.
Flowers are Lifestyle Crafts, leaves are Quickutz.

I hope this helped those of you who wondered how I made the clipboard look real. Also, if you missed the release yesterday, you have until Sunday midnight to comment on all the blogs {see link above} in order to win a stamp set or one of Emma's new dies!!!!

Happy crafty weekend, peeps! ;)

My Creative Time 7th Edition Release BLOG HOP!!!

Guess what....today you get to see the full release from My Creative Time! This release comes with an extra special surprise.....not only will Emma be releasing four new stamp sets in the 7th edition, but she is also releasing a DIE!!!!! We are so excited for this special die and know you will be too. It's the shape of her adorable frame that you see on the packaging of every stamp set. So super cute!!

And more big news. This time there will be ELEVEN winners chosen at random to win either the new die or the stamp set of their choice!!! BUT, in order to win, you must leave a comment on ALL BLOGS by midnight Sunday. So be sure to check out the blog list below if you started here cuz I'm near the caboose! LOL!!!

Now for my project featuring the Honey Do List set!

This was a fun card to make. I used my Cricut Expression for this one -- I really need to do more of that! ;)

This ADORABLE CLIPBOARD is a stamp! Can you stand it! It measures approximately 4 1/2 by 3 inches. It doesn't show well in the photo, but I used gold metallic pen to color the clip on the clipboard. Much cuter in real life.

The sailboat and the life preserver are both from the Life's a Beach cricut cartridge.

Product list:
Bazzill textured cardstock
Bazzill Swiss dot cardstock
kraft smooth cardstock
Gold pen
Stampin Up spiral edge punch
Life's a Beach cartridge
Jute

Here I used the title piece, "Honey Do" from the Honey Do set - but I also combined it with the Have Fun in the Sun set for a cute hubby vacation card.

The cute little brackets and check mark are also part of the Honey Do set! Aren't they adorable.

My diving hubby and waves are from the Life's a Beach cricut cart, and the bubbles are glass dew drops. For the frame, I used the Wild Card cart.
