Made in Minutes Monday

I have two posts today, so if you are here for the new Melonheadz Challenge, please scroll to the post below. Thanks!

This week we start off with Made in Minutes. For this week's MiM, we are using a fall color palette. {see photo inspiration below}

I used Distress Inks in dried marigold, spiced marmalade, crushed olive, and peeled paint for my color palette. The butterfly is cut from vellum and heat embossed. Enamel dots by Doodlebug.

I like the clean look of this card design, which was inspired by a pinterest idea.

I adhered the front panel using foam tape for lift and dimension.

Our inspiration photo. I hope you'll join me and the rest of the team for this pretty fall color challenge.

Product List:
My Creative Time, Family is Everything
My Creative Time, You are Fabulous
My Creative Time, Live, Love, Laugh and Be Happy
My Creative Time, Pretty Butterflies and Dragonflies

Fun Folds with Melonheadz Friends

I have two posts on the blog today, so if you are here for My Creative Time, Made in Minutes, please scroll up to the next post. Thanks!

Happy Monday and welcome to the newest challenge with Melonheadz Friends! For this challenge we are making cards with a little extra fun - not your standard half folding card, but something with a little kick! Any fun fold that is not your typical, everyday, half-folding card. I used this sort of "half-swing" type fold for my card. Along with the adorable new MH Character, Lucy Doris. I fell in love with Lucy Doris immediately! I think you will too. :)

Here is Lucy Doris in her overalls for pumpkin picking.

Inside: The harvest! :)

I love layering images to create dimensional stickers. A little foam tape makes a big impact!

Thanks for coming by today. I hope you'll join us for the Fun Folds Challenge at Melonheadz Friends, and be sure to visit the Melonheadz Etsy store where you can purchase the adorable Lucy Doris digital images!

LOL The coffee word is another die {yes!} that is included in the set and the heart vapor comes in the debossed version I've used here, as well as a stamped version. CUTE!

Also you might note I used the Stitched Rectangle Frame dies once again {holy buckets, those guys are so awesome....you GOTTA get those if you get nothing else from this release {which, I don't see how you could possibly pass it up, but you know what I'm sayin'!}. Those frame dies are so perfect for matting your card fronts as well as manipulating to make other sizes and all kinds of stuff!

The final set we are sneaking is All You Need is Coffee. Boy, some days are like that, right!? LOL There are two cute little coffee mugs in the set with coordinating stamp designs to customize your own personal coffee mug, too. Or tea cup. Or latte.

I combined this set with the awesome layering label die from the new Stitched Rectangle frame dies set and turned it on its side to create a cool looking diner sign. The subtle heat embossing sort of gives it a "weathered" look, I think. And the coffee cup cut from pattern paper is pretty cool too. I used one of the swirly trails from the Live, Love, Laugh and Be Happy butterfly set to make the coffee vapor.

The featured set today from the new release is called A Thankful Heart. I love this new set because...LEAVES! There are FOUR awesome leaf dies in this set, as well as a label stamp and 15 sentiments. I used one of them on a leaf ... love it!

As you can see better in this photo, I heat embossed the sentiment in orange embossing powder with a rich cocoa brown shadow behind. Very fall-ish, don't you think. For the background, I used a deep maroon-ish shade of cardstock heat embossed in clear with the burlap background stamp from the Build a Banner set. I love the subtle pattern the clear powder made with this stamp.

I decided for my project today to make a tag. I don't know what it is about them, but I love tags. Almost as much as I love presents. Haha!! Anyway, a wicked cool Halloween tag it is. There are FOUR items on my tag, just from the new release alone. Bats, witch hat, super cute broom, and the sentiment.

The layering tag is from last month's release, as well as the cool zigzag border cutout, and the stitched banner die that I used for the sentiment box is also a previous release.

I used clear embossing powder on all the bats, the hat and broom handle, and cut them from chipboard giving them even more dimension. Love how they all turned out! Thanks for looking!

My Creative Time, Trick or Treat stamp set *new release*

My sneak for today is the new Stitched Rectangle Frame Dies. But your card is square, you say....yes it is, good observation! I like to manipulate my dies to get more use from them so I cut my rectangle in a square shape to fit the also square 4x4 journal die from a previous release! The butterflies and sentiment are from Pretty Butterflies and Dragonfly Dies and Live, Love, Laugh and Be Happy coordinating stamp set.

The sentiment box is one of the Stitched Banner Dies. Added sequins, button and twine give it the perfect finishing touch!

Thrifty Thursday

Happy Thrifty Thursday! It is my pleasure to bring you the first hint of winter..... hahaha! KIDDING! I am merely sharing a winter card I made using scraps from my stash. I like it, and after scaring you like I did, I hope you do too. ;)

These three pattern papers are some of my favorites from an OLD Basic Grey collection. I don't even remember the name of it, it's been so long. Regardless, I used them on my card as the colors are so 'winter' to me. And the vellum snowflakes and tag - also scrap pieces.

Unfortunately, you can't see in the pic, but I clear-embossed the mini snowflakes on the "coming soon" banner as you see on the Frosty Days tag. For the snowflake centers I used various sizes of bling. Love the end result!

Product List:
My Creative Time, Winter Flakes dies
My Creative Time, Vintage Label and banner die
My Creative Time, Chunky Jar Accessories tag die
My Creative Time, 4x4 journaling card die
My Creative Time, 3x4 journaling card die
My Creative Time, 4x6 journaling card die

Inspiration Wednesday

Today's inspiration comes from Mother Nature, herself. I love fall, and with the calendar just days away from the first day of fall, this is what came to my mind. :)

I had these awesome pumpkin stickers in my stash {for longer than I care to share - LOL} and decided they needed to be used. I altered them a tad by removing the original semi-ugly leaves and replacing them with these cute ones using Emma's dies. ;) I used leaf dies for my sentiment block as well. The sentiment is from the Piles of Smiles stamp and dies set, as are the maple leaves.

The bushel basket is from the Doodlecharms cartridge. I used Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Embossing Powder to give the bands an old, weathered look, the added gold fabric paint dots for the hardware. The grass and dirt are border/edger dies by My Creative Time.

Product List:
My Creative Time, Piles of Smiles stamp and die set
My Creative Time, Stitched leaves dies
My Creative Time, Grass border die
My Creative Time, Wave edger die
Doodlecharms cartridge, bushel basket
Large pumpkin stickers, foam tape, gold fabric paint, distress embossing powder

Tag it Tuesday

Good morning on Tag it Tuesday. Today we are using a photo inspiration for our tag projects. It's kind of an elegant color combination, I think, and a very pretty one.

I started with the Tag and Tag Layer dies, and tag topper.

The sentiment is from the Girls' Night Out set and the background burlappy looking bit, is from the Build a Banner stamp and die set. I love the small backgrounds in that set, they are perfect for adding just a touch of interest without overwhelming a project.

The largest flower is the Rolled Flowers die; smaller flowers are made using the scallop circle and stitched pretty flowers and leaves large flower die.

Photo inspiration and color palette. Isn't this pretty?

Product List:
My Creative Time, Tag die
My Creative Time, Tag Layers die
My Creative Time, Tag topper die
My Creative Time, Stitched Scallop and circle die
My Creative Time, Pretty Flowers and leaves die
My Creative Time, Rolled Flower die

Colors of Autumn Challenge, Melonheadz Friends

Happy Monday and welcome to the Colors of Autumn Challenge with Melonheadz Friends. I don't know about you, but the changing of the seasons has always been so comforting to me. Not sure what it is but fall brings a calming feeling to me for some reason. But I digress....

This was a really fun card to make. Isn't the leaf pile girl adorbsies?! And the bare tree is really cool. It can be used in this way, as a fall tree losing its leaves, or as a spring tree budding with new leaves, a summer tree full and lush, or completely bare-nekkid as a spooky Halloween tree. I love my fall version with just a few leaves left as it prepares for winter. :)

Sweet little girl huddled up in the leaf pile, adhered with foam tape for dimension. Love her cozy outfit.

And, of course, an inside message...what could be more perfect than this!

Product List:
Melonheadz Illustrations bare tree, girl, and sentiment images
My Creative Time, tiny leaves
Copic markers, pattern paper scraps

Scrapping the little things....homeschool version!

Happy Monday, peeps, and a special hello to Miss Joan Smith today. ;) Joan is a scrapbooker and probably one of the most complimentary people who has ever graced the comment pages on my blog. Your comments do not go unnoticed, my dear! HUGS to you, Miss Joan, and thank you so much for all the lovely comments you leave for me!

Now for my page. Who else, but my scrappy buddy and first grandgirl, Grace, is the subject of today's layout. When Grace was in fifth grade (she is now in 8th!!! Where does the time go???) she wanted to try homeschooling. Daughter Cyndi was at home then and figured why not, let's give it a go. They had some wonderful adventures, field trips, and learning experiences that I'm sure Grace will never forget. That was the only year of homeschool, however, as Grace is just too much of a social person to spend another year away from her classmates and buds.

My title is simple. I used the fabulous Fun Alphabet lowercase die set and cut each letter three times, stacking them to give them dimension. The fun journaling box, and the cute banner too, are part of the paper collection I used for this page, October Afternoon, Schoolhouse. MCT Alpha Pack (Alpha 2) stamp set looks awesome for my journaling card, and the apple and pencil are from the Write On stamp set. I thought the fun splats in green, from the Family is Everything set, were the perfect finishing touch to this science page.

For the subtitle sentiment, I again used the Write On stamp set.
Product List:
My Creative Time, Write On
My Creative Time, Family is Everything
My Creative Time, Alpha Pack (alpha 2)
My Creative Time, Lowercase Fun alphabet dies
