My Favorite Things, Sketch Challenge #565

This card is for the sketch challenge at My Favorite Things, and it turns out, I used the same colors for this as I did for the previous two cards for the color challenge. I still had a leftover mouse that I wanted to use, and since he was done in the challenge colors I figured I'd go with it and make another card in those colors. They are beautiful after all! Enjoy.

Images are from the BB Harvest Mouse stamp set. I love coloring the harvest mice in their little fall outfits.
The leaf I used is from a different stamp set called Jungle Gym. It's my favorite leaf I think of all my stamps. At least, in itty bitty size. I think it fits perfectly with the little pumpkins. The basket of pumpkins is from BB Harvest Mouse, but you may notice those are not apples. I used a copic multi liner and added lines and stems to turn them into pumpkins for this card. The sentiment is from the Autumn Blessings stamp set, my favorite fall stamps, also from My Favorite Things.

Copic colors and MFT ink used for this card.

MFT Color Challenge #176, card 2

When coloring images/elements for a card, I always do more than I think I'll need so there are nearly always leftovers for other projects. True for my first card for the challenge, and I love this cute little Harvest Mouse, so I had to use him on another card. Isn't he the sweetest little guy!

Even though I used just this one image, I still used three stamp sets for this mini slimline card. Hope you like it.

He's my favorite from the set. I love coloring his little coat and scarf. :)
Copics used for this challenge.

My Favorite Things, Color Palette #176

Here's a fall color palette that I totally love. Orange, brown and yellow is the epitome of fall colors in my personal opinion. I did grown up in the gorgeous Pacific Northwest where we have all those colors and more -oh! gorgeous reds!- when fall arrives, so I guess I might be slightly partial. At any rate, here's my card for the current color challenge at My Favorite Things. Come and play! You have until November 10 to link your card. Also, there is a random drawing for a gift card to the store every challenge, so why not!?

I combined three MFT stamp sets for my card. The little girl sitting on the pumpkin, the pumpkins in the basket, and the log are from the BB Fall Friends set, basket and leaves are all from SY Piles of Fun, and the sentiment is from the BB Sitting Pretty set.
For the background, I used the largest group of leaves from the Piles of Fun set and created a sort of frame. For this I used grout gray ink from My Favorite Things. It's my favorite ink color to use for subtle background. (I didn't realize how dry my marker was until after seeing pics of the skin. I fixed that after the photos.) Also, I used a blending brush with Distress Oxide, Rusty Hinge, to add warmth to the background.
A little foam tape lifts the pumpkin and girl to give it a dimensional feel as though the basket is farther behind.
Copics I used for this color challenge. I added a neutral putty color as well.

Pinkfresh Studio, October Challenge

As you know, I love working with challenges. Pinkfresh Studio is a new one to me so I hope to continue playing along in the future. Also, Pinkfresh is so new to my stash, I have only two sets to choose from and one is Christmas, so that left me with this one - Lemons and Blueberries, which doesn't scream fall at all, does it! LOL And I'll be honest...I don't care for this color combination. But I love the products and wanted to play along, so here we go. I hope I did it justice.

Sending Holiday Cheer

Using the My Favorite Things Merry Wishes stamp set, I felt compelled to create this card using the adorable bunny decorating the tree. I couldn't help myself. :)

I taped off a section to create this border design using the falling flakes from the MFT Santa's Elves stamp set by Birdie Brown. The snow drifts are from the mini slimline box card add ons and the sentiment is from another set called Sweet Holiday Penguins.

HEAR YE, HEAR YE!!! ALL CRAFTY FRIENDS!
I am beyond excited to announce that I am a Guest Designer with Gerda Steiner Designs for October!! Watch for my next post November 9.

For my first guest post, I'm featuring this Santa with letters stamp set from the October 4 release. He holds a banner for you to personalize with letters (as I did) or sweet little images, also included in the set. The word stamp "holidays" is also included, as well as a coordinating die.

Santa is adorable and imagine how many ways you can embellish him with trees presents, sleigh, reindeer, or anything else you want to show him off! I used this Christmas tree by My Favorite Things and added a second banner by Taylored Expressions for the "happy". I have so many ideas how to use this sweet Santa stamp.
Copics I used for this card.
And how cute is this?! Personalized gift tags using this Santa set! Any 5 letter name or nickname fits perfectly on the banner.
Thanks for joining me in my first Guest Design post for Gerda Steiner Designs. I hope you love these adorably cute images as much as I do. Have a great week, crafters!

MFT Sketch challenge 564

Another Christmas card using the current sketch challenge design at My Favorite Things. I'll have plenty of Christmas cards this year even though they'll all be different. I don't mind, and I don't think my recipients will mind either.

These sweet little penguins are by Stacey Yacula from a winter release a few years ago. They are the cutest little guys and so festive with their Santa hats.

Oh Christmas Tree

Another Christmas card idea for you. Super simple but I really like the look of it. This year I will be sending out all different cards, rather than a mass production as I usually prefer to do. It just worked out that way this year as I've been doing cards as I get new goodies in the mail from new releases etc. and making cards for challenges and such. Anyway, here's a new one from the latest Ellen Hutson release.

I bet you were surprised to see no Christmas tree. LOL
I love the fir bows and cones in this set. Also, the images have coordinating solids as well, so in this case, I used ZERO copic markers. No coloring whatsoever on this card, it's all ink. Very quick to mass produce if you're still deciding on a card design for your Christmas cards.
For the background, you could use the holly from this set, but I wanted a bit smaller image and went with the one from the Holiday Characters set from last year's release. In addition, I used just a portion of the new falala background stamp from the current release. Not everything I used is pictured so please refer to the product list below.

Product List:
Ellen Hutson, Holiday Sprigs stamps and dies
Ellen Hutson, Holiday Characters stamps
Ellen Hutson, Fa la la background stamp

MFT Slimline Shaker challenge

Today's card is a shaker. I used the mini slimline size and three different stamp sets from My Favorite Things. Take a look!

Shaker filler is sequin snowflakes and white sequins. I matched the scattered snowflake stamps around the window from the Snow Buddies stamp set.
Some of the goodies used for this card.
Had a potential failure while coloring the fence. Don't you hate when the copic marker decides to throw up a little!?? Never fear, it's fixable. First don't panic, second go over the area you want fixed with colorless blender. Let it dry, then do it again and let dry again.
Now finish the area you were coloring and when you are done, go around the dried blob areas you want to "erase" with white gel pen. Might have to do this a couple of times, but it always works for me. Can you even tell which piece was the throw up one? LOL Ok, so in looking at the finished card, it turned out I didn't even have to do all that fixing as I ended up putting the two fence pieces together to form one. It would have bugged me though, so.....
Copic colors used - plus E77 which was the one that was too juicy. I forgot to put it back in the cup for the pic. Sorry.

My Favorite Things, Snow Buddies stamps and dies
My Favorite Things, Christmas Cheer stamps (hill with trees)

MFT Sketch #563 and Color #175

Today I have combined the weekly sketch challenge with the new color palette.

Super simple sketch and I kept it that way by using just these few elements. Great design for mass producing if you haven't made your holiday cards yet. I used the tree from the Jingle All The Way stamp set. This would be so fun to use any of the images in this set to crank out a quick handful or more of cards! Or any Christmas stamp set with simple designs, for that matter.

The sentiment is by Technique Tuesday, and oldie from my stash that I honestly don't think I have ever used till now. The fun font just seemed perfectly fitting with the whimsical look of the Christmas tree and the circle backdrop. It looks almost like a Dr. Seuss scene out of Whoville!
Colors used for the challenge. I used my copics to color the circles for a perfect match to the challenge colors.
