Wow, this week went by fast! We're already on our last sneak peek before the big release blog hop tomorrow! So let's get right to the deets on my project for today. :) Today I'm featuring the new Stitched Message Bubbles dies along with the new Geo Borders stamp set. For this two-tone look, I wiped off every other stripe and stamped twice. Turned out pretty cool, I think.

The stitched bubble messages are so cute, aren't they!?? You can layer behind them for a different color background, or use them directly onto your background as I have done here.

In addition to the cute new message bubbles, I used the stitched camera die with the smallest of the layering hearts, and the "smile" word die from the Happy Thoughts set.

There you go! Hope you're all set with your little plastic cards for the release tomorrow. ;) Please join us at 8 a.m. Pacific time tomorrow and hop along with us as we share more goodies from this fun release!

Warning: Lots of photos!! I didn't get every single page because a few are plain, but this is the gist of those as well.

I made a mini book for my project today! Mini books are so much fun and I love making them.

For this one, I used the My Creative Time Scalloped Stitched Envelope die for my pages. Six of them make up the whole album. You can see the chain closure here; a Tim Holtz goody that works awesomely.

This is the inside cover. All the papers in this book are from the October Afternoon, Witch Hazel 8x8 paper pad. I used ONE sheet for the front and back covers, inside and out.

One of today's featured new release is the Alpha Pack - there are three new alpha sets and I used two of them here. LOVE!!! On this one page, I used EIGHT My Creative Time products!

On this page, you'll notice doily flaps. These are tags that slide into the envelope pages. You can use them for journaling or photo mats; whatever you like. On this page I used 3D embellishments from my Halloween button stash; the book of spells, the bat, cauldron and pumpkin. Also you can see a few sequins in the mix, as well as stickles. The banner along the bottom ("cast a spell") is also a new release for this month!

Here is one of the doily flap tags pulled out so you can see.

Under this flap is a ticket, and the page has a 3-opening mini photo mat, open along the top for teensy pics to slide into.

And the inside back cover. Hope you enjoyed my little book!

Tag it Tuesday

Happy Tuesday, people. Aren't you glad Monday is over? Just kidding! All my days pretty much run together so it doesn't matter to me what day it is. Unless it's Friday, then I get all excited cuz, well, FRIDAY! But I digress.....

Today's project is to make a tag. I took it a little further and made a tag ON a tag! But then - BAM! - I took it even further and put them both on a card. Woot!! ;) Some friends were married last week and just got back from their honeymoon, so I used the occasion to inspire my tag-it project for today. I love how it turned out.

For the main focus, the tag on the tag, I used the Once Upon a Time typewriter die and stamp set. The layering heart dies and one of the key dies from the Chunky Jar Accessories dies are perfect for a wedding theme. Also, I used the leaf dies and the rolled flower die. The flower is deep red and looks even deeper after I dipped it into UTEE making it a resin embellishment. So pretty!!!!

Here is a better shot of the flower and the black heat embossing on the typewriter. I love it.

Oh yes. Another die from the Chunky Jar Accessories die set, this tiny tag. I added an amber gem and a tiny piece of the gold tulle that I used at the top of the large tag. "Wedding Wishes" sentiment are individual words from the Chocolate Greetings set.Yummy black bling along the bottom of the card was a RAK from my bestie, Miss Nikki.

And last, but not least, the inside sentiment. I used the Fun Variety Inside and Out stamp.

Product List:

I made the title block using the MCT Build a Watercolor Background, You Are Fabulous, and Speech Bubble Sentiments.

For the upper embellishments, I used Bunch of Fun Circle dies, Build a Stripey Background, and You Are Fabulous pattern dies.

Try Me Tuesday - slide puzzle technique

Today's try-me project is a "slide puzzle" style card. Remember the puzzles we did as kids that was a mixed up picture? Then you had to slide the pieces all around to get them in the correct order? That's the idea behind today's try-me project.

This one is actually my second card. I had a little trouble keeping things even and lined up properly in the first version, but this one turned out a lot better. It's a fun technique, and once you've done it, it goes a lot faster the next time you make one. For the background I used the Love Collage stamp and clear embossing powder.

Stitched Sweetheart die, speech bubble die popped with foam tape, and sentiment from the Lost at Sea stamp set. Distress Ink colors peeled paint, worn lipstick, and festive berries.

The first attempt. I used the small flourish and sentiment from the Springtime in Paris set, Stitched Circle dies, and the beach ball die from the Surf's Up set.

Distress Ink colors here are peeled paint, wild honey, and spun sugar. Don't do any measuring or looking too closely...had a bit of trouble lining things up on this one. LOL

I hope you'll try this fun technique. Check out Gina K's video here if you need a little help.

Tag it Tuesday

Today the My Creative Time Design Team is sharing tags. I love making tags. Don't be stuck thinking a tag is just a tag, and what am I going to do with it....think outside the 'tag'! I make this tag in jumbo size and call it a tag card. This one is 8x3.5 inches and fits in a #10 or #9 envelope for mailing. Step outside the box with your tags! :)

I used two stamp sets and two die sets for my tag card. Build a Stripey background, and Lost at Sea stamps, and Make a Splash and Bunch of Fun Circles die sets.

Circle dies with lighthouse, waves, and seagull stamps from Lost at Sea.

Circle dies here with sentiment from Lost at Sea, and Make a Splash waves die. I added the jump rings to make the "rope" look more realistic. I like how it looks!

My Creative Time, Build a Stripey Background stamp

Melonheadz Friends - Tags or Bookmarks Challenge

It's time for the new challenge at Melonheadz Friends! The challenge this time is to make a bookmark or tag. Well, I couldn't decide which I wanted to do, so I made one of each! Besides, who says you can't use a tag for a bookmark, right?!

Most of my grands love to read and with summer in full swing, I decided to use a summer/beachy theme for the bookmark. These adorable beach kids are from the Alison's Feelin' Beachy digi bundle.

I'm calling the little girl Emmy, for my littlest grand girl--she looks just like her! :) The pail and sand are individual images in this cute digi bundle.

The sunshine is a stamp by Peachy Keen and the speech bubble cloud and sentiment are by My Creative Time.

From the same set of digis, I used the boy for my tag - he looks like Emmy's brother, Feliciano!

The tag is by My Creative Time and the sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

The sand castle is also in this set as an individual piece. I used sand paper for the sand this time and for an extra bit of fun, I added stickles to the sand caste and the waves.

Product List:
Melonheadz Illustrating, Beach Vacation digi bundle
My Creative Time, Have Fun in the Sun stamp set, cloud speech bubble, waves from Lost at Sea
Peachy Keen Stamps, PK-M16 You are my sunshine
Twine, eyelets, stickles, sand paper, distress inks (for watercolor background)
