Squeal!! I'm back :)

Hello crafty friends! After a very long hiatus, I'm back in the studio and so happy. Besides having a super fun time with my sister, I spent just as long helping hubs finish our bathroom renovations that turned out beautifully and just what I wanted - but all of that is for another post. :) For now though, here is this week's Sketch challenge for My Favorite Things.

I love the adorable little piggies by Birdie Brown from the Hog Heaven set. They were the perfect choice for this card celebrating another new addition to the family expected a week before Christmas. Another girl, of course!

The little bow for the peeker is too cute, don't you think.

I pieced the sentiment using the "squeal" portion on the front, and substituting "we're" from the Snuggle Bunnies set for the "I'm" to finish it off.

MFT Card Challenges, Sketch 356
Each Wednesday there is a new challenge if you'd like to join the fun. Even if you don't have any of their products, you can still join the challenge, and who knows, you may be the gift certificate winner and then you can choose from the some of the most adorable stamps around so you'll be ready for the next challenge. :)

Happy crafting. I'm so glad to be back in the studio!

MFT Sketch Challenge #348

For this week's sketch for My Favorite Things, I chose a school theme. The adorable stamp and die set are retired, I'm afraid, but perfect for the card I wanted to make for my granddaughter. Her school colors are purple and gold. Thanks for looking!

MFT Color Challenge, #76

Fun color combo again this week. Love the pop of hot pink with the blues and steel. I chose to use the llamas for this challenge; in my head they just seemed to fit the color palette. *shrug* Yeah, I'm weird. LOL Anyway, here's my take on this challenge. Hope you like!

Love their saddle blankets and bed roll. All set for a fun journey.

The variety of cacti in this set is pretty cool too.

And the sentiment...come on! How cute, right!? I love it!

You have another week to join this challenge before the color palette changes!

My Favorite Things, Sketch Challenge #347

This week's sketch from My Favorite Things, Card Challenges. They have a new sketch each week, so you can join in any time you want. You may even win some MFT goodies.

I used the re-released Witch Way is the Candy set for the main focus on my card. I love the pumpkins in this set.

In addition, I used the skull from the Party Like a Pirate set and the bat from the Fab BOO lous Friends set. The leaves are from the Jungle Gym tiger cubs.

Fab BOO lous Box Card

New Halloween set by Birdie Brown for My Favorite Things. Super cute little ghosty images. I couldn't decide on just one or two, so I used a whole bunch and put them all together in this one card. Really fun to make and I know the kidlets will love it. :)

The fun thing about this card style is that, even though it is very interactive, it fits nicely and flatly into a regular A2 envelope. See?

I added a greeting to the "front" - the front as it is folded, anyway. Remember not to glue it all the way across though, or your card won't unfold.

See the sentiment poking out on the left of the box/card front?

Just look at all the Halloween pals I was able to incorporate into this one card! I love that you can really pile on the fun with this style card, or you can use just a few if you'd rather. Either way, it's fun to make and the recipient will no doubt be in awe of your creative prowess! ;) I do not have a video/youtube of this process, but click here to see the one that helped me refresh my memory. Hopefully it will help you too. It first appears complicated, but really, it isn't. There are lots of steps in the process, but it isn't difficult at all. There are lots of other videos as well, so feel free to browse if you need more or other info before you get started. :)

Thanks for looking. :)

My Favorite Things, Sketch #346

Love this week's sketch challenge. I started with an idea for a Halloween card, but it didn't turn out that way. I'll see how the next one goes. LOL I still like this one though. I challenged myself to mask the whole scene without using die cuts or foam tape. Totally flat card! Go me. :)

BB Party Like a Pirate stamp set. Had a tiny accident with one of my copics that decided to leak at the very last second and mess up my treasure chest. I think I did pretty well with the colorless blender cleaning it up. Could you tell if I hadn't mentioned it??

Day 3, Background Bonanza

Today in Camp Create we are creating backgrounds. I sort of didn't follow directions completely as the background is supposed to be the focal point, but I did make a background I like and that rarely happens. LOL So I'm sharing it anyway. ;) Thanks for looking!

Day 2, Magnificent Masking

We're back at Camp Create for Day 2 where we are creating with masking techniques. For today's masking challenge, I used a seashell scallop stencil and masked off a border in three blended colors. I used those same colors as the theme throughout my card, including the sweet little mermaid from the Mermazing stamp set by My Favorite Things.  See product list below.

I love her. :)
