My Favorite Things, Sketch 617 and Color 199

This color palette has always been at the top of my list of favorite non-traditional Christmas combinations. Lavender and sea foam together just look so fresh. Don't ask me why, it has always struck me as Christmassy.

I chose these happy party penguins to create a birthday card with these colors (after all that about Christmas! LOL) and how cute did it turn out.

Rather than using circles on top of my panel, I decided to cut them out of the panel and pop it up with color behind it. This way, I could incorporate more of the white and gray from the color palette.
Using blending brushes, I added just a touch of the seafoam and lavender over the panel before stamping with these adorable little musical notes.

My Favorite Things, Outside the Box & Slimline Challenge

For this card I combined two challenges. Using the Outside the Box, Level Up Mini Slimline Boxcard Dies (whew! That's a mouthful!), I created this holiday scene combining four stamp sets. How cute are these little forest creatures in all their festive finest?!

It has been a while since I made a box card. I had forgotten how much fun they are to put together.
You can add as many or as few goodies to them as you want, depending on the look you want to achieve.
I like to fill them pretty full to take your eye all over the scene. Don't miss anything!
And the funnest part of all is that these fun creations fold flat for mailing and, if you don't add to many embellishments, they cost no more postage than a regular flat card. Bonus! :)

My Favorite Things, Sketch 616

I still had the adorable Fall Market paper pad on my desk from the last card I made, and I love the colors in it so much that I decided to use it for this challenge as well.

The Harvest Mouse stamp set is one of my favorites from My Favorite Things. He fits perfectly with this paper.

The bushel basket is filled with apples, but for my version, I modified them to make pumpkins. The mini pumpkin that mouse is holding was also an apple until I modified it to fit my theme.

I don't always remember that I can use a color for my sentiment, I don't HAVE to use black. LOL I like it in this aqua color.

My Favorite Things, Summer Splash ink

Pinkfresh Studio, October challenge

Here's my entry for the Pinkfresh challenge this month. I chose three colors from the color palette for my card, using the Fall Leaves theme.

I decided to go super simple with my design and used just one leaf die, one piece of pattern paper, and soft, blended colors from the challenge palette.

A little foam tape goes a long way when using a simple design.
Evergreen, Ocean Breeze and Marigold inks from Pinkfresh
Yummy fall paper pad from Carta Bella from a couple of seasons ago, Fall Market. I love the colors in this collection.

You still have time to enter the October challenge.

Best Wishes to the Mr. & Mrs.

A wedding card. I've been in an awful slump since my last post and just couldn't seem to get out of it. A friend of my husband's is getting married, and this wedding card was what I needed to get back to the craft room. Truth be told, this has been sitting on my desk unfinished for almost two weeks and I kept moving things around, switching things up, and just not having any inspiration to finish it. Huge thank you to my bestie, ScrappinNavyWife, for helping me over the hurdle to put the finishing touches on it.

Gold and white is always a hit for wedding cards, so that's where I started. I used the gazebo die by Pinkfresh Studio as my jumping off point, cutting it from shiny gold cardstock. I glued the gazebo in just a couple of places to a white arch leaving most of it unglued. So far, so good. I chose the Grant Yourself Grace stamp set, also by Pinkfresh Studio, and heat embossed the roses in gold, tucking them in and on the gazebo. Behind the gazebo I needed something plain so the busy gold arches didn't take away from the pretty florals. I cut a solid arch shape just the size of the gazebo. Perfect.

The background needed something special, so I hot foiled the panel with the Pinkfresh Studio Geo Arch in gold and matted it with black to give it pop. I love the way it makes the rest of the card stand out. After I got all the roses glued down, I added foam tape to the full arch piece and popped it onto the gold foil arches background. So pretty!

For the sentiment, I had several gold foil options in my stash. I chose 'best wishes' from the Pinkfresh Studio Modern Script Sentiment set using gold foil. To finish it off, I added these clear drops by Studio Katia. They were just the finishing touch this card needed! (Thanks, Nikki. :) )
