Thoughtful Thursday

Hello and happy Thursday, or, as I like to call it Friday-Eve! :) Today is Thoughtful Thursday with My Creative Time, when we make cards for thoughtful occasions...thinking of you, get well, miss you, congrats, etc.

Today I've used this sentiment from the You are Brilliant stamp and die set.

This little fish is just the cutest....but wait, is it??? Um, no! It's not a fish at all! I used the Quickutz BIRD die, 0938, to make my sweet little fishy!!! I used the wing for his fin, and for his mouth -are you sitting down?-the end of a balloon!!!! QK die, 0017. Seriously. Brilliant, right? Well...maybe not brilliant, but I love him. ;)

So there's my card for Thoughtful Thursday. Hope you like! It was so much fun to make and I love the colorful papers by Simple Stories. Make someone a thoughtful card this week. It will make someone's day!

Product List:
My Creative Time, You're Brilliant stamp and die set
My Favorite Things, fishtail tag die
Quickutz, 0017, 0938

3D Wednesday

Today for my 3D project I am sharing another banner...shock! ;) Isn't it fun?! I love the look of banners. To me, they always suggest a party, and who doesn't love parties, right!?

The pennants are each 10 x 5 inches at the longest and widest points, including the hanging tabs. This is a Quickutz two-part die.

Each pennant has a half-rosette, 3 inches wide by 1 3/4, which I love as they add the look of an old fashioned bunting. The "freedom" piece is from Cricut Cartridge, Graphically speaking.

My Creative Time, My Little Firecracker stamp set sentiment, America sticker by K&Co.

The second pennant is adorned with a mini banner -- I love it! -- and doily by My Creative Time. The "Happy 4th" sentiment and fishtail flag are also by My Creative Time.

Doily and mini banner. "America The Beautiful" stickers by K&Co.

For the last pennant I again used the MCT fishtail banner from the Vintage Label and tag set. Stars and mini scallop are Quickutz dies, and more K&Co. vintage look stickers. All papers are by K&Co. from the 12x12 Americana specialty paper pad.

Birthday boy

Ok, he's not a boy anymore *sniff, sniff* but he is my man-child. Today is my stepson's -- who has been mine since he was a toddler -- 35th birthday. My dad told me, "You got your boy the easy way." LOL  Wasn't it just yesterday I was trying to coax him down from that tree top?! The one he made it partway down without falling the rest of the way and crashing through the branches with a thump....only to come up laughing and scratched all up from the trip down. He scared the life outta me a million times and always came out with a smile on his face and smelling like a rose. That lucky star still follows him everywhere...thank goodness! He needs it! ;)

For his card I decided I had to use this stamp I got a while back. Love this old pickup truck from Magnolia stamps. Perfect for man cards. I used his birth date as the license plate. His dad says he won't notice but I think he will see it right away.

I put the truck on a wobble. It's an old pickup, I'm sure the shocks are about shot. ;)

Sentiment from My Creative Time, Celebrate Good Times stamp set.

Hug your kids and tell them you love them. Time goes by too fast and before you know it, they have their own kids to hug and love. :)

Scrapping The Little Things

Well, most of you know scrapbooking layouts is my first love and I have so many grands who give me plenty to scrap about. In fact, Grace was my inspiration to start this oh so fabby hobby back in 2002 and there is no turning back now!!! I'm officially, obnoxiously hooked!!! LOL

Today's page features my littlest grandgirl, Miss Emmy. She has such personality and is so much like her mommy it's almost scary. Hahaha! Here she is sporting one of her many fashion-forward ensembles while she plays dress-up. (I forgot to add the date before taking pics; this was 2012 when she was still 4 yo.)

So I went kinda cray-cray with embellishments on this page, but it is all in keeping with Emmy's fashion sense. Another adorable banner {seriously, I'm addicted!} paper flower and twine, pearls, sparkly bling....

...buttons, flags, and Heidi Swapp chipboard hearts. These hearts were pink but I sanded off most of the color and saturated with navy ink, dried with the heat gun, the added a layer of clear embossing powder. Add a little banner flag, button and twine, and voila! Two more smaller hearts {above} with the same treatment, but embellished instead with pearl beads this time.

Sentiments, arrows, and title letters are all by My Creative Time. Pattern papers are Simple Stories, Summer Fresh; background green dot paper by American Crafts.

Man card

Kind of a funny story behind this card.....I made it for the Peachy Keen Challenge this month--but I missed the deadline by 11 minutes. Argh!!! I always get the time wrong -- always! LOL Hopefully I'll have it figured out by the next challenge so I can actually play. Haa!!

All right then, here's my card. The challenge was to make a guy-themed card.

I love the sweet sentiment from the last Christmas release and thought it would be perfect for my hunting husband. I also used the label from that set and cut it out for my sentiment, and using a die to create a window for it. Cool I have a die that is the same style as the Peachy label!

Twine and button on patterned kraft paper by My Mind's Eye.

And the inside. :) I used the Doodlecharms Cricut Cartridge to make the sweet little buck and Piles of Smiles faces. Wish me luck next month, will you? LOL

Peachy Keen Stamps, PKSC-11, Nov12 release

BLING BLING! MCT Designer Challenge

Happy Thursday and welcome to the new Designer Challenge with My Creative Time. The new challenge is BLING! Use anything sparkly, glittery or shiny! Love this fun challenge....won't you join us and link up on the MCT blog.

My watermelon card measures 5 1/2 x 4 inches. It's a cut from the Doodlecharms Cricut Cartridge. I love the simple shapes on the cart. They are so fun and easy to embellish in so many different ways. I added some  hand doodles too.

I used yummy shiny black jewels for my watermelon seeds, a present from my bloggy bestie Miss Nikki, Scrappin Navy Wife. :) Thank you Bestie, they are perfect! The sentiment and border stamps are from My Creative Time, Have Fun in the Sun set.

Super cute pink/black twine with black hemp. Just a little touch.

NEW FEATURE! Inspire Me Tuesday

Hey look, we have a new feature at My Creative Time! Tuesdays will be our day of inspiration projects. Snap a pic of something that inspires you, create a project from that inspiration piece, and share the pic on your blog with your finished project. I hope YOU will be inspired too!

Here is my finished creation...

I used the stitched hexagon button dies by My Creative Time, but didn't just stop there. I stamped them with the tiny polka dot and argyle background stamps from the Coffee Backgrounds set. Sentiment is from the Life is Good stamp set. If you look closely, you can also see the mesh stamp from the Build a Banner set.

And if that isn't enough, I added even more texture to the other side of the card using the Paper Trey Ink hexagon embossing die.

...and here is my inspiration. This is the scratch paper I use under my stamping pieces and for testing colors. These colors are so pretty together and I'm falling into the hexagon trend, as you can see. I liked them with the dots, and thought they would be nice on card so .... voila! .... birth of a new design team feature!

Product List:
My Creative Time, Stitched button dies
My Creative Time, Build a banner stamps
My Creative Time, Coffee Break background stamps
My Creative Time, Life is Good stamp set
My Creative Time, Leaf dies

Scrapping the little things

My subject for today's scrapbook page is my littlest grandgirl, Emmalyn aka Emmy. To look at this beautiful picture you'd think this sweet face is nothing but sugar and spice....au contraire!!!! She's just like her mom who is also like that little girl in the nursery rhyme....
There once was a girl
with a little curl
right in the middle of her forehead.
When she was good
she was very, very good
but when she was bad she was horrid!

LOL!!  Such is Emmy, little stinker. I just love her to pieces though and moments like this one pictured are so precious. :)

Banners are so sweet and I can't get enough of them. I hope you're not tired of seeing them! I love using different elements to make each one special and unique. Instead of bows at the ends, I added mini roses to this one. These are not my handmade flowers though, these are Prima. (They were so cheap on sale I couldn't resist.) Doily is by My Creative Time as are the hearts, and some of the pennants. Butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch.

The brads and tags are by My Minds Eye and coordinate with the paper pad I used for the layout. Lost and Found Two, Sunshine 6x6.

I used My Creative Time, Fun in the Sun stamps to create her name using letters from different words in that set. The date is the Just Simply Live stamp set. The large flower is one I made from several premade flat flowers, and the small one is another Prima mini rose. Leaves are My Creative Time.

Fishtail tag banner dies by My Favorite Things.

Thank you for coming to see my project today. I'm loving this new "out of the box" (for me!) style and didn't even use a sketch or inspiration piece for this one, believe it or not!! I guess I'm getting more comfortable outside that box! ;)
