MFT Combined Challenges

This card is a combined challenge for My Favorite Things, sketch 682 and color palette 228. It could be a Valentine if  you like, it could be a birthday card, or a just because card. I like the color combination and it works beautifully with this cactus stamp set from MFT called Sweet Succulents.

Copic colors for the challenge that match the MFT inks.

My Favorite Things, Wild Cherry ink cube
My Favorite Things, Kraft cardstock

Another birthday tag card!

Next up is my first granddaughter's birthday card. Grace is Jeffery's little sister and my crafting buddy since she was not yet 3 years old. She is actually the reason I started scrapbooking. She was about a year old at the time. I had been watching QVC while recovering from gall bladder surgery and saw a crafting segment with Lisa Bearnson of Creating Keepsakes Magazine, and purchased my first scrapbook supplies so I could make a book of baby Grace. And the rest, as they say, is history. My first purchase was a kit that came in a 12x12 storage box. I quickly outgrew that "storage system" LOL and the box became the holder of all of Gracie's scrapping supplies. She loved getting out The Box and creating with me.

Even before she got dressed she was thinking about The Box! I guess it comes naturally. LOL
Her own crafting table next to my desk. She takes her crafting very seriously, as you can see. :)

Gracie's first ever paper crafting project. She was 2 years, 7 months old.

Ok, so on to my birthday card. Again, I have used a jumbo tag by Heidi Swapp as the base for my card. This time I have adhered a piece of pattern paper over the tag itself for the background, then stamped directly onto the pattern paper.

I know...I can't believe it either, but yes, she'll be 23 on February 7. I'm in shock I tell you.
Super fun birthday stamp sets by Heidi Swapp have the perfect array of birthday party sentiments, images and fun elements. I actually combined four stamp sets (five, including the large numbers) to create this one.
A party without cake is really just a meeting.
I love adding tags on tags. This one: Best birthday ever
Second mini tag: I'm only here for the cake
Third mini tag: What's coming is better than what's gone. The cake image is from a stamp set by Ellen Hutson called, surprisingly enough, Cake.
I hope you  like this one. I love the colors, they seem perfectly birthday party to me. And what a bonus to have matching ribbons, also by Heidi Swapp, to top it off. :)

Distress Oxide ink colors:
Spun Sugar
Tattered Rose
Saltwater Taffy
Speckled Egg

First birthday card of 2024

My new favorite style "card" is the jumbo tags by Heidi Swapp. These have become an obsession over the past several months and I'm still in this creative mode. This one is from my first grand. If you are one of my oldest crafting pals, you will remember Jeffery was 7 or 8 years old when I first started scrapbooking. Some of you will remember him since he and I first became AOL instant messagers when he was not even 3 yet. Aw, those were the days! Well, hold onto your hats because my little buddy has a birthday on Thursday and he will be.....are you sitting down......THIRTY YEARS OLD! This poor old film pic is terribly blurry, but it's one of my favorites in front of my tree for his second Christmas.  (Someone with an AI program fixed it for me as best they could. It was worse before!) Anyway...

Here is the tag/card I made, using Heidi Swapp products and Distress Oxide inks.

I'm still in shock over this. I don't feel much over 30 myself most of the time. LOL
Both sides of the mini tags are stamped.

Thanks for stopping in!

Too soon for Valentines?

Because I finished Hubsy's Valentine a little early. I super duper love how it turned out. Oh and p.s. I also made the box. Largest tag is 2x3.5; finished box is 4.25x2.25

First challenge of the new year

I combined two My Favorite Things challenges to create this cute valentine using the Happy Birthday to my Favorite Gnomie stamp set. Sketch 679 and Color Challenge 227.

I modified this little guy's balloon by using the heart balloon from the Adorable Elephants stamp set to make it more "Valentine-y". The sentiment is from MFT I Love You More sentiments.
Copic colors for this one match to the MFT inks, and the matching paper is from the MFT Very Merry 6x6 pattern paper pad.

Happy New Year 2024

We made it! Another year older and hopefully wiser, right? Best wishes to all in the coming year. It has been quite an eventful year, to say the least, and I, for one, couldn't be happier it is history now.

Crafty blessings, makers! I love you all.
