Bri turns 2!

Hello Monday! And hello again Scrapping The Little Things. Today we're creating scrapbook layouts and smash book pages.

Quick happy birthday to my daughter, Sally today also! ♥

I haven't done a two page layout in eons but I thought these pics of my sweet little niece, Bri needed their own pages, so here we are. :)

Sweet banner using My Creative Time, Fun Alphabet lowercase dies and the treat slider box.

Chunky Jar Accessories die - love this crown and the details cut out beautifully. I used a paint chip samplefor the crown.

Sentiment from My Creative Time, Wow So Many Candles stamp set.

Sentiment again from Wow, So Many Candles, label from the Treat Slider Box die set, and adorable ice cream cone die from Celebrate Good Times. Journaling lines are a stamp from the Cherish This Moment stamp set.

Page 2:
I'm not really sure why this looks so totally crooked here...honestly it doesn't look like this in real life. LOL Weird. She's still cute though and that's what counts. ;)

Banner on this page using Build a Banner dies and, again, the treat slider box die. Sentiments are all from Celebrate Good Times stamp and die set.

Again, Celebrate Good Times sentiment and treat slider box label die.

Flower here is made up of three dies. Scalloped circle die, flower petals die, and stitched buttons die.

Thrifty Thursday

Welcome, once again, to Thrifty Thursday. Thrifty Thursday is when we use scraps and pieces leftover from other projects, or recycled items that would normally end up trashed. For my card today, even the base is from the scrap bin!

I had this matchbook cut in my scrap bin forever and thought it would be great for this project. Instead of using it as a matchbook shape, I used the "flap" for my sentiment, and folded it to the inside. It also works great for the card to stand on as the flags don't want to hold the card up.

This is a piece of scrap paper from the MME Lost and Found 2, Sunshine 6x6 paper pad. Already printed with the swirls, label and sentiment. What a bonus!

The large flower was a leftover from a Halloween project, the partial doily background is from a scrap piece that wasn't big enough for the whole shape...

...and this label is also only a portion of the die cut as my paper wasn't long enough to cover the whole die. Worked out great anyway as I covered the other end with the flower anyway. I love projects like this that you would never know were made with bits and pieces. It's always fun to use partial die cuts that you can't tell weren't made that way on purpose! My sentiment fits just perfectly.

Tip: Keep those die cuts that maybe the side chopped off, or it shifted on the die and missed part of the cut. You can always layer them so the missing piece isn't showing or use it on the edge of the card or tag so it looks like you did it that way on purpose. You'd be surprised what you can do with the scraps that you might have thrown away. Have fun!

Product List:
My Creative Time, Stitched doily die
My Creative Time, Stitched circle and scallop dies
My Creative Time, Rolled flower die
My Creative Time, Lots of Love stamp set
Martha Stewart branch punch
McGill sunburst punch
Spellbinders label die

Fun mini for 3D Wednesday

Today I'm sharing this fabulous mini I created using My Creative Time's new release. I am in love!!! The journaling die is an really great size and with the coordinating stamps that can be purchased separately, they are the most awesome combination for a mini book of any theme. I've done this one in a summer theme. Here's the cover with adorable charms made from various MCT dies. I love doing this. They're so fun. :)

Here are the charms. I've added them to the binding rings using mini safety pins. They can easily be removed and put on a purse, backpack or zipper.

The cover, unblocked by the charms. For my book, I used the My Minds Eye 6x6 paper pad, Away We Go. Perfect for a summer travel or camping theme.

One of the coordinating stamps you can get for this journaling die. There are three styles which come together in the set.

This page was extra fun. When Grace has a burst of creativity, she calls it an "idea pop!" I had to use that on this crafty page in the book. All of the darling elements and stamps are by my Creative Time (except the index tabs, which are Quickutz dies.)

Another of the adorable journaling stamps.

Before: Grace and Olivia heading off to camp. After: They were barely recognizable after a week away!

This page turned out so cute. I didn't have a tent stamp or a tree stamp I wanted to use, so the tree is a Quickutz die. But the tent.....can you guess what that is??? It's actually the sailboat (sail only) from the new release, You Are Here.

Well, that's it. Super fun and easy little mini you can put together in an afternoon. These would be the cutest little travel journals for the kids on road trips, for notes in a backpack, address book or autograph book to pass around class at the end of the school year, party favors, or just a notebook to keep in your purse. It doesn't have to be all filled up with goodies, it can be a simple notepad. Do it up any way you like, use a theme or no theme, just have fun!! :)

Magnetic bookmarks

My pile of scraps and bits and pieces leftover from other projects was beginning to pile up. Before I put them away I decided to make these bookmarks using some of the leftovers. I loved making these and will be making more. At some point I'll do a pictorial with instructions (they are super easy!) but for now, here are two creations I made this weekend.

 back:

This is what the backs look like. For the flat magnet, I used a half-inch circle punch and cut from an advertising fridge magnet. I tried first using two of these, but they were too thin and wouldn't stay together. this magnetic button I got in the craft section at WalMart is much stronger and holds great.

Thanks for popping in. Leave me a comment and tell me what you think!

Happy Earth Day

Scrapping the Little Things - with a twist! Use a recycled item on your project. Mine is a tuna can label. :) Anybody remember the "Sorry Charlie" tuna commercials?!

8 1/2x11 page for the man-child's fishing and hunting scrapbook. Hubs determined by these pics that new fishing clothes are in order. LOL!!!

Computer generated tag, and the tuna can label as a ticket. I thought this was so clever of me. Hahaha!

This whole page design and color scheme was inspired by the red polka dot scrap of paper I used as a flag. It was already cut like this and everything. I loved the pop of red and thought it made for a rather nautical theme, particularly since it was a flag cut already.

I thought the MCT clouds were the perfect way to add space for details. I used another little red flag on a toothpick to balance the page. Title is Fun Alphabet dies, and the sunburst is from the Build a Banner kit.

Product List:
My Creative Time, Stitched Fun Ticket dies
My Creative Time, Vintage label and banner die
My Creative Time, Fly Away With Me cloud dies

"You hold the key" tag

I love making anything with flowers on it, so when the bug bit me again this week, I took full advantage. The papers in this BoBunny collection, Serenade, are not typical of what I normally lean toward, but they are just gorgeous and I felt them pulling at me. This tag is the result.

The large flower is done with My Creative Time rolled flower die; the small one is merely a rolled circle. I love that technique for accent flowers. The center is done with a snowflake punch. I love this look.

My sentiment is from My Creative Time, Chunky Jar Accessories stamp set, and the tag and keys from the Chunky Jar Accessories dies. I LOVE these keys!!! I'm not sure if you can tell by the photos, but I heat embossed them in black over black cardstock and it looks a little 'aged' in real life. They turned out pretty cool. I put them on a jump ring then through the end of a tiny safety pin which I pinned to the sentiment tag.
Hope you like! Thanks for visiting me on the weekend. I appreciate it very much!!! Happy crafting, bloggy friends. :)
