Use your favorite Honey Bee stamps Challenge

New challenge is up at Honey Bee Stamps. I don't have many of their products, but what I do have, I love. This set is called Loads of Fall and was made to accompany the Big Pickup Tailgate set (which I totally love, by the way!), but I modified it a teensy bit and used it without the pickup. Works pretty well on its own!

Switched out the apples for pumpkins and gourds! I love how well they fit in the bushel with just a little bit of fussy cutting! The "grateful" word die is by Avery Elle.
Copic colors for this card. You'll note I took the reds out since I ended up not using the apples.
For the apples I used Copic R29 and R46, and added glossy accents. I'll use this on another card.

The stencil for the background is a chicken wire design - love! Perfect for the farm-y feel of this card.
The few pieces I had leftover will go into my use it later box with all the other cuts I have accumulated.
Thanks for visiting! I hope you enjoyed my card and a look at how this one came together.

MFT Sketch 561 and Color Palette 174

Another challenge post for your viewing pleasure. Today I'm sharing the new sketch, #561. I combined it with the color challenge, even though I've done that one before. I like these not-exactly-Christmas colors and I think they make a cute Christmas card. Hope you like it! Deets below.

These are some of my favorite Christmas images by MFT. The pillows and cocoa -with marshmallows AND peppermint stirrers!!- are so cozy. These are both from the Merry Christmoose stamp set by Birdie Brown.

The sentiment is by Ellen Hutson from Julie Ebersole's Warm Fuzzies set. Very fun and versatile set worth adding to your stash for "any day" cards.
Layers using foam tape. My beloved foam tape!
Copic colors I used for this challenge. (see exact colors at the end of this post)

Thankful

This one started out to be a color challenge but I just could not add the fourth color (purple - my least favorite color). It made no sense to my eyes and ruined every project I started with it, so I left it out and totally love my final result!! I hope you like it too. Warning: photo overload ahead.

So, it's not even October yet, so there is no way I could quit the pumpkins. Right? I mean, we still have Halloween coming too, so... well, what I mean is, hope you're not sick of them. 😆 Here's my finished card.

The cluster I made for the front - this one is super thick.
This one has three layers of foam tape in some spots, so it will be a fat envelope. LOL I like them to be sturdy.
Here you can see the many layers.
Copic colors. Remember I said this was originally going to be for a color challenge? The challenge also includes purple (my least favorite color) in a shade that was super hard to come close to from my Copic collection, and I have ALL the copics. I just wasn't feelin' it.
Some of the products I used for this card. See full list below.
How it started:
The foam tape on the back of the lovely pumpkin cluster. I told you I love foam tape. I usually use larger pieces but it wasn't working on this one. I totally love making these "clumps" of goodies!
Mid process. I ended up tossing this background after I tried coloring in the acorns. Suffice to say it was icky. In the trash.
Deciding whether or not to add the two pumpkins behind the cluster. Yep. This is the look I was going for. I switched them on the finished card. My "eye" likes them better that way.

There you have a look into my crafty process. This one took literally all day for me to complete, which is so not typical. I blame the purple! As soon as I gave up on that, everything began to fall into place.

Love you, plain and simple

No reason for this card other than to say I love you. And to color these adorable pandas by Gerda Steiner Designs! So sweet I couldn't resist them. :) Hope you like.

The bears are versatile in that they are not drawn as pandas so you can color them in any way you like. They don't "have" to be panda bears. But pandas are the cutest, so......
Foam tape, natch, cause that's how I roll.
I used the peeking bear on the back of the envelope. Dang these are cute.
Only a few copic colors needed for this one.

Color Throwdown #661

This week's color throw down is a gorgeous neutral palette. I used the Floral Focus stamp by My Favorite Things. I started coloring these images because I've always thought neutral florals were so pretty when someone else does them. Not sure why it took me so long to try it myself, but I delved in with no idea how I would use them.

The next day I received a message that a friend had lost a loved one. I decided these images would be perfect for a sympathy card. It was meant to be.
Sympathy cards are the hardest to make.

MFT Sketch #560

My Favorite Things, Sketch Challenge #560. Here's my version. I went with a Christmas theme.

These adorable penguins are from two different stamp sets. The one with the ornament is from the Merry Wishes set; the two below are from the Sweet Holiday Penguins. The sentiment is from a third set, called Christmas Cheer.
Their faces are just the sweetest.
I used glossy accents on the ornament.

Copic colors for this card.
