Today's project features this awesome new lacy scalloped heart. I had to use it for a shaker just because that's how I roll. I love the way it turned out. The filler is tiny red and white hearts and big fat red lips. {SWAK} Also, the background is not pattern paper....it is a stamp!!!! An awesome, huge stamp called Love Collage, also in this release!!

My sentiment is from the new release, Lots of Love. This font is delicious! I used two stamps for this....Love is one, you and me is a separate one.

Here's a closer look at the shaker.....

....a here lying down sorta so you can see the goodies inside.

So there you have it! FAB.YOU.LUSS Valentiney goodness ready and waiting to visit your crafty space! More super cute new dies featured in today's sneak peek! This scallop heart for example, and more of the cutie patootie baby hearts using the new layered hearts set. I made a window card with transparency but it doesn't show up in the photo.

The "xoxo" stamp is also new. You'll find this one in the Lots of Love stamp set.

The 'love' stamp is from last year's 100% Sweetness set. Minus heart, which is new. And a die, not a stamp.

Inside the card is yet another new die. I know, right!?!? Emma is knocking our socks off with these awesome new dies, and this postage stamp frame is fantastic. FAN.tastic. :) The postmark stamp is another one from the 100% Sweetness set.

That's it for peeks this week. Be sure to come back tomorrow for the hop. We're having a guest designer joining us!!! :)

Merry Christmas and God bless us, every one

Every year I share the following letter that I sent to the local newspaper in 1997. It's my favorite Christmas memory; a memory that means so much to me it brings tears to my eyes and reminds me every year to be grateful and count my many blessings. (I don't live in the area now and I'm a "little" older too. LOL)
***

The Key Peninsula/Gig Harbor area has been home to me and my family for 34 of my 43 years. During those years, I have donated clothing, household items, and food to local food banks as much as I can throughout the year, never expecting, of course, that I would one day be in need myself.

Several years ago, my daughters and I fell on hard times and the holidays seemed bleak. By Thanksgiving, I still had not found employment. The girls had just entered high school, and though they had never asked much for Christmas even in good times, I felt despair in knowing I would not be able to give them much of anything that year. We did our best while I continued looking for work, but finally had to seek help from a local food bank to make ends meet. A short while later, we received a call from the food bank telling us a local family wished to “adopt” us for Christmas. About that same time, my job search finally paid off and my first day of work was to be December 20. That day, we woke to several inches of snow on the ground and no power. I had no way to get to my new job and no number to call them. We were not the only ones snowed in, however. The food bank was unable to deliver Christmas to many adopted families. Though the families and the adoptees generally remain anonymous to each other, our “family” decided that if it meant the difference between our having or not having a Christmas, they would make the delivery personally. Not only did our family bring gifts in abundance, they also delivered a van full of groceries, including laundry and cleaning supplies, and everything imaginable for Christmas dinner. As if that wasn’t enough, this wonderful man drove me to my new job and later called to find out what time I finished so he could drive me back home!

This true story of the spirit of Christmas always brings tears to my eyes. We never heard from our adoptive family again. We understand they left the area some time ago, but their gift of love and generosity will never be forgotten. That Christmas, which looked so dismal, remains one of our most cherished and treasured holiday memories.

***
Merry Christmas. May you be as blessed as I am!

Fun treat bags--and a fun treat

These cute little bag boxes are fun to make. I love the idea of them - square box bottom and gift bag top. Unique and fun, and super simple to make as well. I've done a couple of these before {earth day project} {baby shower gift bag} and I always love how they turn out. You can do so many things with them and decorate them in so many ways.

These hold reindeer poop!!! I love putting together candy treats for the kids and coming up with new combinations to make 'poop'. And of course the kids love to eat it and try grossing each other out all the while. LOL This year's recipe is chocolate candy corn, sugar babies, tootsie roll midgies, milk duds, and mini  marshmallows. Chocolate covered raisins, peanuts and chex mix are other great ideas for reindeer poop.

I did each tag differently but used the new Vintage Label die by My Creative Time for each of them. I also used the 'reindeer poop' stamp that Emma made *at my request* and other stamps from the All Around Goodies set. Almost all the grands are now reading, so I thought it would be fun to stamp each label with a different sentiment in addition to the reindeer poop stamp -- made with love, fresh baked, spread the love. I think the kids will get a kick out of it....'fresh baked reindeer poop'. Thanks a lot grama! Hahaha!!

So by the 12th day, you will see ALL 12 items that ONE lucky person will be receiving! All you have to do is leave your comments each day! AND if you become a new follower of this blog, I'll give you a second entry FOR EACH DAY in the big drawing!!!

**VERY IMPORTANT**
Please leave your contact information should you be the lucky winner!!

Here it is, the final day of the hop. I've had so much fun with these 12 projects I don't even want to stop. So here's what I'm gonna do. I'm not gonna stop. How about that!?? LOL I have so many ideas in my head and I hope to have time to get them all, well at least most, of them done, Christmas or not. Yay!

All righty then....today's projects are super quick and easy. First up are these sweet treats. The containers are dies by Lifestyle Crafts but I'm sure you can find them on Cricut cartridges as well. Very cute, aren't they! I used the MCT banner die from the Vintage Label set for my flag in the caramel corn.....

My Creative Time Fun Alphabet die set for "pop" and the starburst from the Build a Banner set. The adorable little popcorn is a Quickutz die. Real caramel corn is my own. ;)

Here's the banner flag. Computer font is by TwoPeas called Beef Broccoli.

...and here on the mini-bakery box. Adorbs! Also a Lifestyle Crafts die, this mini bakery box is perfect for giving just a little sumthin'-sumthin'. This one contains Frosty Snowball Cookies, aka Russian Tea Cakes, aka Mexican Wedding Cookies, aka Pecan Sandies. Even if they can't make up their mind what their name is, they are nonetheless delicious.

Sentiment from My Creative Time From Our Family to Yours stamp set, and the banner again from the Vintage Label and Banner die set.

Homemade cookies from my own kitchen.

And last but not least, I made this sticky note pad holder using the envelope die. This would be great tossed in your purse, next to your computer or by the phone for those quick reminders. I used the MCT Fancy Envelope die and the new stitched curly label die. The font is the Label font, also by MCT.

I thought this cute little pencil made a nice touch on the spine.

Opened up, here's your pad of sticky notes inside. This die fits the 3x3 note pads perfectly. For the closure tab you could use almost anything - the banner die from the vintage label set, oval stitched die, build a banner tabs, teeny tag....really so many of Emma's dies are great for this. I chose the curly label because it matches the edge of the envelope, but you could flip the envelope the opposite way and use the straight side for the closure too if you wanted.

For the closure, I used a Basic Grey small magnet between the paper layers, and the opposite magnet between the envelope layers. (If you look hard, you can see the impression of the circle where the magnet is on the inside front cover.

See how simple?! I merely trimmed an inch or so off the fold tabs and slipped in the last couple of sheets to hold it in place.

I hope you've enjoyed hopping with us these past 12 days!!! I have had a BLAST making fun, easy, and quick ideas to inspire your crafting projects and gift giving. If you have any questions regarding any of these projects, please feel free to ask in the comments (they come to my email so I will be sure to see them even if I somehow miss it on my blog, which doesn't usually happen anyway) and I will answer them. If you prefer a personal reply, just let me know and I'll email you. Thank you so much for all your lovely comments!!!! Good luck in the drawing my sweet bloggy friends. :)
