Summer Fun Box card

It's been a while since I made a box card, and with this new set from My Favorite Things, I decided on this mini slimline box card for the My Favorite Things, Outside The Box Challenge (Summer Fun) as well as the Color Challenge (192).

The piggies, sailboat, and lighthouse are from the Pig Time Fun stamp set. They are so cute! I added some other elements from a couple of other MFT sets too for a little extra beachy fun.

The snowdrift dies work great for waves if you ink them blue.
I love this tiny little lighthouse. Isn't it the cutest.
And it folds flat for mailing in an A6 envelope, also known (at least used to be) as a check envelope. I haven't written a check in a hundred years, but these envelopes are perfect for the mini slimline size cards.

Color Challenge for My Favorite Things

Today's card is for the color challenge at My Favorite Things. I haven't done one of the challenges in a long time, and I had this birthday card to make and decided to use the color palette for the challenge.

Mostly I used Pinkfresh Studio products, but the inside is My Favorite Things, as you will see. This one is for my sister. I love the dimensional window frames by Tim Holtz from the ideology collection. I used a little of the gilded foundry wax on this one as well as on the stained glass backdrop behind it. It takes just a tiny bit of it to make a giant impact.

Closer view of the elements stacked up on the frame.
Even with the frame it adds lots of dimension, but I went further and added foam tape in spots and stacked things in spots because that's what I do.
Inside message:
I have to confess, I've been DIE.ING. for nearly 6 months waiting to use this sentiment on her birthday card. LOL!

More Pinkfresh Goodness

As you probably know by now, if you follow the blog at all, Pinkfresh makes some pretty amazing products, including wide washi tapes that can be cut out with coordinating dies. Check them out on the Pinkfresh Studio card blog and get some great inspiration while you're there.

For today's card I have once again used the Lemons and Blueberries Washi Tape. I hope you're not tired of seeing it! I can't seem to get enough of the lemons for some reason. LOL I have also used the hot foil plate backdrop, though it is not foiled this time. Instead, I used it as an embossing plate, cut out the center portion with the arch backdrop die, then popped it up over the top of the stained glass cover plate die which I cut from gold cardstock. Also, it doesn't show up well in the photo as it is very subtle, but I used what was left on my blending brush to add a super soft lavender around the arch. Sounds like a lot but simple to do, and look how pretty.

I liked the look of the diamond centers in the gold, so I didn't punch them out, though they are die cut. I thought the extra bit of gold was just what it needed to look "finished". The foiled sentiment is from the Pinkfresh Studio Foiled Sentiments Pack, available on the site.

See? Sounds like a lot more than what it looks like. :)

In The Meadow, Pinkfresh Studio

I have another washi tape card for you today using the In The Meadow washi from Pinkfresh Studio. This was one of the beautiful products we received in our Create and Connect kit in November 21.

For the "trellis" I used the Pinkfresh Simply Diamonds die. It's perfect for a simple background. I added even more dimension by putting over the top of some images then popping it up with foam tape before adding more flowers to the top.

The foiled sentiment is also from Pinkfresh.
Dimension, dimension, dimension. It's my middle name. ;)

Product List:
Pinkfresh Studio, In The Meadow washi tape
Pinkfresh Studio, In The Meadow die

Pinkfresh, Lemons and Blueberries ver.2

There are so many images in this one set, that I had some left and decided another card would be the perfect place for them. Here you go!

This time I used the Pinkfresh Studio Essentials Ornate Oval Frame die for the backdrop. The background check pattern paper and sentiment strip are from Simple Stories, the Vintage Lemon Twist collection.

I stamped and heat embossed with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder and popped a few of the pieces with foam tape. The butterfly is also from the SS Lemon Twist collection.

A few enamel dots for extra pop of color. I wanted to bring out the berries more in this one so I used super deep purple Bazzill cardstock for the oval. (I believe the color name of this one is Pansy.)

Product List:
Pinkfresh Studio, Lemons and Blueberries washi tape
Pinkfresh Studio, Lemons and Blueberries stamp set
Pinkfresh Studio, Lemons and Blueberries die

Pinkfresh Studio, Lemons and Blueberries

This washi tape - yes, it's washi tape! - by Pinkfresh Studio is so pretty. No coloring involved, no stenciling and copics or pencils needed. Just apply the tape to the paper/cardstock of your choice and cut with the coordinating die. It's that simple.

I used them with the arch and stained glass dies for a garden gate look. The brick-look is a stencil by My Favorite Things. I used distress aged mahogany (brick red) and pinkfresh doe (brown) inks to give sort of an old brick color.

I added a few yellow enamel dots and some purple gems to the flower centers to give it a little sparkle.

The cardstock sticker sentiment is by Simple Stories from the Vintage Lemon Twist collection. I wasn't sure how this was going to turn out or if I would like it, but after finishing it, I think it turned out ok. Seems like it needs something, but I don't know what. Maybe the next one will be better.

Pinkfresh, Grant Yourself Grace

I can't get enough of the Pinkfresh roses. This set, Grant Yourself Grace, is from the latest release and I just think it is so pretty.

Along with the roses set, I used the Arch Backdrop die and popped it up with foam tape because why wouldn't you. For the arch itself, I inked it with My Favorite Things grout grey using the MFT Small Brick Wall stencil (ST46). Behind the arch I added foliage for interest using a stamp set from the Create and Connect event called Butterfly Garden. The sentiments are also from the Butterfly Garden set. Watch for this one in coming releases as it has not yet been released for purchase.

Heat embossing in gold gives it more dimension and a little extra pizazz.
These champagne colored drops are also by Pinkfresh. I like them with the gold embossing.
and the final touch, the sentiment. These pieces are part of the Butterfly Garden set so keep watch in the store for this set in the coming months.

For today's card I've used another adorable stamp set designed by Julie for Ellen Hutson. I've complimented the sweet image with washi tape by Pinkfresh Studio called Whimsical Blooms.

Masculine Birthday

The man child has a birthday coming this month and, like his father, his favorite hobby is fishing. This year I decided to go simple, which still using fishing as the theme.

Rather than cutting shapes from cardstock, I used inks and the Organic Elements stamps to create a backdrop. The simple images from the Bearware stamp set are perfect for a minimalist style card.

Again using the Organic Elements (two half circles) and Bearware (cupcake) for the inside, I added a birthday greeting from the Concord & 9th, All the Birthdays stamp set.

Essentials by Ellen, Bearware by Julie
Concord & 9th, All The Birthdays

Gerda Steiner Designs, Pigeons!

First, I think this is the only pigeon set I have ever seen in the stamping world!!! At least, it has to be cutest. But what makes it even more special to me is that my dad has been a Pigeon Fancier since he was 12 years old, has been a judge and pigeon shows for many years, has traveled the world judging shows, and has even published a book about them. So to see this set by Gerda Steiner, I had to have it for his Father's Day Card. He will love it!

Chicken wire background stencil is by The Crafter's Workshop.
