Life is Beautiful

Today's card features Pinkfresh Studio's Detailed Leaf stamp and die. I used copics to color this one rather than the coordinating stencils that are also available for this set.

I stamped the images first in Misty Coast ink before coloring. I then lightly stamped over it with Rocky Slope. For the background this time, I used the Tropical Leaves stencil by Lawn Fawn in Pinkfresh Rocky Slope ink with a blending brush and a light hand. Then for texture I added the mesh-look die from Hero Arts. I lightly inked the piece in just a few places around the outer edges. Also, I inked just the one edge of the card front in Sky Blue ink by Pinkfresh.

I layered the leaf and sentiment pieces for dimension and added some metallic pearls to the front, then I popped the whole front panel with foam tape.

Not a lot of supplies needed for this one. And only four copics.

Pinkfresh Studio, April Challenge (3rd entry)

This month's challenge theme is flowers, and I love using flowers as a theme on my cards. Particularly, when Pinkfresh has such beautiful floral washi designs. This one is called Indigo Roses.

I used the Stained Glass cover plate die by Pinkfresh for the "trellis" and trimmed it to fit into an arch die. I love the look of it. I placed the largest flower piece under the cover plate to create even more texture.
I used foam tape on just one of the pieces, but layered the others and placed them over the stained glass cover plate.

Product List:
Pinkfresh Studio, Indigo Roses washi tape
Pinkfresh Studio, Indigo Roses die
Pinkfresh Studio, Olive ink cube
Pinkfresh Studio, Stained Glass cover plate die
Pinkfresh Studio, Perfect Sentiments stamps
Pinkfresh Studio, Perfect Sentiments die
Pinkfresh Studio, Perfect Sentiments hot foil plate
Pinkfresh Studio, Gold metallic pearls
Foam tape, gold foil

Pinkfresh Studio, April Challenge

The theme for this month's Pinkfresh challenge is Flowers. For this card, I used the new Artistic Magnolia washi tape.

The large roll washi tapes from Pinkfresh Studio are so awesome you guys. If you haven't tried them, you really should. Although, be careful, as you may quickly become addicted! They are the quickest way to make a gorgeous card if you're in a time crunch.

I used the Blanket Stitched edge die for the background, foiled sentiment, also from Pinkfresh, and gold metallic pearls for embellishment.
For this card, I used foam tape on the entire floral and sentiment cluster to adhere it to the panel.

Product List:
Pinkfresh Studio, Artistic Magnolia washi tape
Pinkfresh Studio, Artistic Magnolia die
Pinkfresh Studio, Blanket Stitch rectangle die
Pinkfresh Studio, Sparkling Rose ink cube
Pinkfresh Studio, Foiled Sentiments
Glossy accents (to adhere gold pearls), foam tape, blending brush

My Favorite Things, Sketch 643

I used this week's sketch to create a birthday card with the new Buzzing With Happiness stamp set from My Favorite Things. I think these little bee-gnome guys are super cute!!

The pattern papers were just scraps I had on the craft table, which turned out to be perfect for this card. I don't have dies in this shape so I improvised and tried circles which didn't work as well as I would have liked. Then I tried arches and that didn't work at all, so in the end, I just eyeballed it and cut the pieces by hand. The soft blue background is My Favorite Things, Sno Cone using a blending brush.

I used Star Dust Stickles on the wings, just enough for a little sparkle, and glossy accents on the honey.
No foam tape this time, just layered pieces for a chipboard look.
Copic colors and other products used for this card.

Pinkfresh Studio April Challenge; Flowers

The new Pinkfresh release includes this new washi tape design, Artistic Magnolias. These large rolls of washi are so easy to design with, particularly if you get the coordinating die. And there are so many gorgeous patterns to choose from.

Mini slimline stitched scallop rectangle frame. Behind it all you can see the faint image of a basket weave stencil in super light pink ink, just what was left in my blending brush from something else.
"Beautiful" word from Butterfly Garden stamps and dies, heat embossed in gold; and the gold metallic pearls are by Pinkfresh Studio.

Product List:
Pinkfresh Studio, Artistic Magnolias washi tape
Pinkfresh Studio, Artistic Magnolias die
Pinkfresh Studio, Butterfly Garden stamps and dies (sentiment)
Pinkfresh Studio, Gold metallic pearls

My Favorite Things, Basket weave stencil (background)
Blending brush, gold embossing powder, green cardstock

My Favorite Things, Sketch 640

Weekly sketch for My Favorite Things, using the Recipe for Happiness stamp set. I only used one of the images in the set, but isn't he so cute. This is one of four chefs in the set, each in a different pose.

For the "sentiment" strip, I used a piece of scrap from another card and flipped it over to use this super fun print. It's from the Made With Love 6x6 paper pad by Doodlebug. It reads, "you bake me happy".  I think the row of chocolate kisses is so cute. Did you notice there are dark chocolate, milk chocolate and even white chocolate kisses in the line up!?? :)
In keeping with the sweet love theme of my card, I made a heat embossed background with white embossing powder and the Hip Hearts stamps by Catherine Pooler, then lightly inked over in pink ink using a blending brush.
I used the Essentials Arches die set from Ellen Hutson. And, of course, chef is popped up with foam tape, as is my usual.

Teen birthday

The grands are grown up. We have no grandbabies anymore, just grand adults. They have all turned out to be wonderful humans and that's the best part. Look at this cute little 5 year old boy! I swear it was just a week ago. He'll be 18 next weekend. I can't.

For his card, I started with large number stamps. It's an easy way to start a teenage boy card when you are stuck on ideas. Boys are hard to make cards for! From there, I added a bunch of stamps from Heidi Swapp. I love her designs and the way her stamps all work together so effortlessly.
For this card I used an Anniversary set, a Christmas set, and these giant number stamps.

Products I used for this one.

Product List:
Heidi Swapp, Captions Numbers (18)
Heidi Swapp, Celebrate (definition, Celebrate, just have fun)
Heidi Swapp, Christmas captions (banner, sparkle)
Ellen Hutson, Bokeh Dots stamps (scribble circle)
Concord & 9th, All the Birthdays stamp set (happy birthday, confetti)
Distress Oxide inks, Lost Shadow, Salvaged Patina, Speckled Egg
Distress Oxide sprays, Lost Shadow, Salvaged Patina

Groovy!

I used the MFT sketch 639 again for this card, this time with this cute little bus from Ellen Hutson. It reminds me of groovy times in the 70s when I was still in high school, music was especially awesome, and summers at the beach were so much fun. Hope you like it.

I just realized this bus has no windshield wipers. That's ok. It never rains in southern California, according to the song, right. :)
I didn't use foam tape on this card, but I did cut several of the bus die and stacked them for dimension. I love making my own faux chipboard using this technique.
Copics used for this card.
