Pinkfresh Aug colors

I had a few images left from the previous card and decided I might as well use them on another challenge card since the color palette is still current for the August challenge at Pinkfresh Studio. So I made the card, didn't really like it much and wasn't going to post it, but after leaving it for a day or two, it looks better to me now. LOL Do you do that too? Just let it sit, and it miraculously changes your mind for you after a while? Well, here it is. You can decide if you think it's worthy or not. LOL P.S. NO FOAM TAPE!!

Pinkfresh Aug challenge color palette

Choosing non traditional colors is generally a challenge for me. I mean, coloring a cat blue or a dog purple just doesn't want to compute in my super organized and obsessive compulsive brain! But I do try. With the help of Pinkfresh Studio, I'm starting to feel a little less inhibited by color choices that are not the norm, as the girls over there love using aqua shades when coloring leaves, for example. I'm trying! 

For today's card I used the Pinkfresh Studio Pears and Pomegranates stamps and die. This time I colored with copic markers in coordinating colors to the Pinkfresh ink colors in the challenge. I don't know how much, or even if, I like the result, but I'm posting to share and letting you be the judge. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this one. 

For the background, I used the Sky Blue ink with a stencil by The Crafters Workshop. Over that, I  lightly stamped some of the leaves from the clusters in the stamp set using Apricot.

A few gold metallic pearls and some foam tape for dimension, of course, and a popped up sentiment, also from the Pears and Pomegranates stamp.

Hello, Honey!

I've had this stamp set for a while but hadn't used it yet. Today seemed like a good day to bring it out.

This set is One in a Buzz-illion from Ellen Hutson by Julie. I love the little hexagon bits that you can use in so many ways. I decided to stamp a background with them and then used a part of the bee trail bee-tween. There is a bee in the set, but I chose these much smaller bees from the Meant to Bee set by My Favorite Things. 

This honey dipper is the cutest! I added glossy accents to the droplets, but it's hard to see in the pic. And the adorable honey jar. So "sweet" - haha.

I ended up not using the hive, but it will go in the die cuts box for a later project.

My Favorite Things Challenge

For today's card, I've combined this week's sketch challenge and color challenge. Not a single copic marker were used in the making of this card. I know! I'm also amazed. LOL

I was so tempted to make another beach themed card with this sketch (see below) but instead opted for a shaker card. I hot foiled a gold frame around the window and that was the fanciest I got with this one.

Of course, foam tape. You can't make a shaker without foam!

Aug Color Trends Challenge

Today's card is for the August challenge at Ellen Hutson. I love the muted palette and tried to incorporate all eight colors. Did it work? What do you think?

The background cover plate die is by Pinkfresh Studio, enamel dots by My Mind's Eye, and Hemptique twine.
