paper roses

Oh my goodness. Thanks to Janna of the Jewel Box, I've learned how the make adorable little bitty paper roses much like Prima flowers. These are so stinkin' cute, you won't want to stop making them!!! Here are my first attempts. Literally the first and only flowers I've made so far. I haven't had to toss out a single sample, they are so easy using Janna's technique. I'll be making a bajillion more of these so you'll be seeing them on upcoming cards and projects very soon. LOVE!

These are the materials I used.

The four stages of petal layers + leaves. For this one I used a QuicKutz die, but you can use anything you like for the leaves. I'm not all that pleased with this, so I'm looking for something else to use. This is what it looks like before you put it all together.

Finished flowers size comparison

The first two I made. :)

Here's Janna's video on youtube. So easy to follow. Give it a peek and you'll be making your own fake Prima flowers too!

  2. Thanks for the idea Shar! That would be great to do in gum paste or fondant for cakes too!

  3. When I made my parents album I had come across this technique on youtube, probably the same one you posted. I had a hard time finding a punch. What brand punch did you use? As always your work is darling. :)
