Beautiful Dancer Fairy composition book

This month I've had the pleasure of working with the Beautiful Dancer fairy stamp by Amy Brown, from Queen Kat Designs, http://www.katstamps.com/ I've used her here on this altered composition book. She's so beautiful in shades of pink. Her dress looks yellow in the photo, but it's actually green. In addition to copics, I've also used stickles, glimmer mist and i-rock bling.

Other materials on this project include ribbon, lace, and prima flowers. The background paper is Making Memories, the measuring tape paper is Life's Journey, and the dictionary paper is from an old dictionary I picked up at the thrift store for a quarter.

To get the old, used look on the dictionary paper, I spritzed it with water and crumpled it, uncrumpled it then sprayed with glimmer mist; crumpled again then opened it up to dry. I helped it dry with a heat gun then gently rubbed an ink pad over the crumpled texture.

The beaded stick pin and dictionary paper flower are my own creations.

Party time

or パーティ時間 in Japanese! I'm sharing with you more of my new crafty love today - copic blending markers! When I saw this adorable (and free!!!) digi stamp, I knew I had to use her with the lanterns and branch.

In addition to copics, I've added texture with stickles. The Rev. 0158 lanterns hang from a branch from the 3-pc. branches border set.

This week, make a project with a die you haven't used in a while. :)

Happy birthday to Emmy, our last grandbaby, who, as of today, is no longer a baby. sniff, sniff! Sweet Emmy turned 3 today.

Beary special birthday

I know teddies are generally used for kids cards, but this guy is so cute I used it on this card for my friend, Connie. While she is definitely young at heart, she's not a little kid, but she liked him anyway. :) Teddy is a free digi stamp I found online (see blinkies on sidebar for free digi stamp links).

Balloons and flower are QuicKutz; present is also a QK die but I trimmed it quite a bit so teddy could hold it.


I printed a mini version of teddy for the inside message. Here he is holding the strawberry from the Buggy Designs build-a-cupcake die. The ovals are Spellbinders, message is computer generated, and the dots and hearts are actually cupcake sprinkles also from the cupcake die.

Bitten by the copic bug! Isn't he a sweet little guy, all cozy in his bed. See his rozy cheeks? Hope he feels better soon....and I hope he'll cheer up my friend who is still recovering from surgery.
