Can you even?! Seems the older we get, the faster the clock ticks. And it's so weird, because I don't feel that much older - well, until the weather changes...or when I bend down to pick something up...or I can't see close up without readers... You get the picture. LOL
It has been 5 months since Randy's surgery and in that short space of time he has made incredible progress. He impresses me every day with something else he is trying/doing to get back to 'normal'. Even the prosthetist calls him a superstar and is always in awe of the rapid progress Randy has made, and continues to make. In fact, he has already checked off all the boxes in physical therapy and he will have his final evaluation next week. Amazing.
We did end up canceling our San Diego winter trip this year as there is just too much going on with the new leg, therapy, and all that goes with it. Randy was not comfortable leaving for so long and so far from the doctors and people he relies on should something go wrong (which hasn't yet, and I don't expect it to, honestly). Not to mention, the Airbnb we reserved last year, of course not knowing this would be our new situation, has lots of stairs and that is one thing Randy will have to get a lot more practice with as we don't have stairs at home. Baby steps!
I did learn a whole new technique this year too, thanks to another Heidi Swapp class. (I took quite a few of her classes this year and look forward to doing more in 2024. Highly recommend if you are a Heidi fan!!) If you haven't already tried it yourself, you must give it a whirl! The Tim Holtz/Ranger DIY custom ink pads and ink refills make for the most fun project....creating your own ink blends and color combos. This is just a taste. I think I made something like 15-20 of them so far!!!
This is one of my most favorite color combinations, particularly for winter. Isn't it yummy.
And now, without further ado, I bring you some of my favorite makes from 2023.
And the specialty ink color combinations we made for this project.
