Pinkfresh Create & Connect Virtual Cardmaking Event 2022

May 21/22, 2022.
What a whirlwind weekend! And so much fun! You may remember I attended their very first virtual event last November and really enjoyed it. Well, this time was just as amazing. We created our little fingers off and enjoyed using some of the gorgeous products from Pinkfresh Studio that  haven't even been released to the public yet. Be sure to watch over the next few months for some of those to be available for purchase. In the meantime, let's get to Day 1 of this fabulous event.

Class 1, Card 1
Believe it or not, there is no coloring on this card! No inking, no copic markers, and no crayons either. LOL This is the newest in the line of gorgeous washi tapes from Pinkfresh. Yes, WASHI TAPE! Super quick way to add beauty to any card, especially if you need something last minute. For my card, I adhered it to white cardstock, but you could use any color if you wanted something more dramatic, as it is fairly transparent. This set is called Whimsical Blooms.

The dry embossed arch background is the new Geo Arch hot foil plate, and the super cute frame is a set of two dies, this and a smaller one. I love these.

There is a stamp set with coordinating dies as well. This sentiment is one of them and has been heat embossed in gold. Isn't it pretty? The new clear drops are a must have. These products are not yet available for purchase, but keep watch over the next few months/releases and they should be available.
I love adding dimension to my cards, as you probably know, and having dies for the sentiments is one of my favorites. Stacking them gives them stability and dimension without a lot of bulk if you prefer not to use foam tape. This is my favorite method.
Card 2
This card uses the same Whimsical Blooms set, only this time we used the coordinating stamp and dies with the layering stencils and inks. My final stamping was a teensy bit off, so it's not your eyes, it's my image that is wonky. LOL I went with it and it's not as bad as I thought it was going to look.

For this card design, we also used the Ornate Circle die, a new product not yet released, and the smaller of the two mini slimline frame dies.
The sentiment for this card is one of the foiled sentiments pack, which will likely be available at a later date, as will the clear drops on the flowers.
Lots of stacking and foam tape on this card, which I totally love.
Make n Take
Each class has an extra project which I like to call extra credit. It's not really - we aren't graded on anything. This is one we can do after class, or before class if you have your kit before the event even starts. This card is another washi tape version. Also, a note about the washi tape - it smells delicious. I know, I'm weird, but really, it's almost like an air freshener when you first open it.

For this one, we again used the Geo Arch hot foil plate to dry emboss the background, which we popped up with foam tape, and the sentiment this time is heat embossed in white over dark green cardstock.

There you have Class 1.
Coming up next is Class 2, which might be my favorite class of the event.
