Watercolor with distress inks!

For this card, I wanted to try a few different techniques together just to see what I would get. Like my most recent cards, I felt like playing and experimenting a bit. That's what I did here.

Using watercolor paper, I first did a wet watercolor background with a few coordinating Distress Ink colors. When I was happy with that, I dried it a tad with the heat gun then spritzed Perfect Pearls over the piece. Again, I zapped it just a sec with the heat gun before stenciling the subtle trellis-looking background.

Next, I stamped the flowers and leaves using just the sketch portion of the layering flowers from the Altenew Vintage Flowers stamp set. I liked the look so I decided not to add the other layers. Instead, using a water brush, I added a little more color with the inks to give depth and a little more definition. I would have been happy with the look even if I had skipped this last step but overall, I do like how it all turned out.

Thanks for looking!
