Melonheadz Autumn Challenge

For my autumn challenge project, I made this fall banner which will hang across my front door wreath. I altered the acorn from the Season Fall digi set in Cricut Design Space and embellished with letters and banner shapes cut on my Cricut machine.

I wanted a little something extra to help the letters stand out, so I stamped a variety of tiny fall shapes on them and heat embossed. I cut each of them 5 times and stacked them with foam tape between.

 For texture and interest, I used burlap, jute twine, and buttons, and added fall leaf die cuts.

MFT Card Design Superstar Contest 2016

I'm so excited to share my first entry for the My Favorite Things Card Design Superstar Contest. (See rules here.) I used quite a few different MFT sets for this fairly simple design. The word "give" was printed from computer as I didn't have a stamp that worked.

For the gate, I wanted a woodgrain-ish look, but don't have a woodgrain stamp or embossing folder by MFT. So, I improvised and literally dragged my ink pad over the paper before cutting out the shape. I think it worked out pretty well.

And, of course, I HAD to add foam tape because that's how I roll. Gotta have that dimension.

Melonheadz Friends Challenge: Hand colored image

This week's new challenge is up. Use your talents to hand-color an image for your project and join us!! I used copics but you can use any medium you like to color your image. Have fun and show us what you created by linking to the gallery. You could be this week's winner!

I used the wheelbarrow from the Season Fall set and "filled it" with the apples that were in the barrel, also in this digi set. I love taking images and modifying them to create new ones. Check out the digi sets I used in the Melonheadz store linked above.

Glossy accents make the apples look extra delicious! :) The sign post is a Cricut image, and the grass was cut using dies by My Favorite Things.

My Favorite Things, Sketch #296

Here is my entry for this week's sketch challenge for My Favorite Things, Card Challenges. It may not look like it by this fairly simple sketch design, but I used a LOT of different stamps and dies for this one!

Starting with the papers, both are by My Favorite Things; Plaid Patterns and Tranquil Textures. The sentiment is from two stamp sets - "Hello" is from the Forest Friends stamp set; I had to dig a little to find a "fall" word in the size I needed, and that one word is the only thing I used that is not by MFT, other than the markers for coloring.

You may have noticed the cross stitching on the center panel. That is from the Basic Stitch Lines die set. The sentiment box is a piece cut from Blueprints #29.

The pumpkins are from the Harvest Mouse set and the super cute cart is from Sunflower Sweetheart.

In honor of Labor Day, this week's inspiration is for those who keep America going...the 40 hour-weekers. My card is in honor of school bus drivers. Thank you for getting our kids to and from school safely every day!
