Scrapping the Little Things

Welcome to Monday and Scrapping the Little Things with My Creative Time. As I write up my blog post, it's Saturday night, before the big game tomorrow. This game is going to be awesome! Two really great teams and both our favorites -- me, being a Washington native, started watching football with my then-mother-in-law in the early 70s and LOVE my Seahawks; and hubs, having been born and raised in Colorado grew up a Broncos fan!! But he's been a transplant long enough that he now roots for the Seahawks whenever they are playing so this year's Super Bowl is gonna ROCK!!

But as you read this, the game is history, so let's get to the task at hand....scrapbook pages! Today's page features this Christmas card photo of my beautiful niece and her beautiful family. Honestly, have you ever seen an entire family this photogenic!?? Ok, ok, I may be a tad biased, but LOOK at them. ;)

I used my layout as another outlet to try embossing paste. It's so pretty, but in this case, I should have used a heavier weight paper for my base. Usually, Bazzill is my first choice, but I didn't have the color I wanted so I had to resort to something lighter weight to get the right color. So, it's really warped from the embossing paste. Bummer. The embossing paste itself turned out pretty cool though. Just as I had envisioned it! It looks white, but I actually added a little gold paint to the white before applying it, then while it was wet added gold glitter. Then when it dried I stamped over it with Frayed Burlap distress ink. All the inking on this page was done with Frayed Burlap.

The tags and topper are by My Creative Time as are the chicken wire stamp, and script stamp on the tags.

Flowers. It's been a while since I used so many flowers on a project. {I've missed you, flowers.} I used the MCT rolled flower dies, scalloped circle die, and circle die for the flowers on this page. Also the MCT leaves.

The title is a rub-on  from my stash; heart is a die by MCT.

Again, purchased flowers, but I used them to make my own version - the large one on the right - and added pearls and a leaf.

There you go. :) I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed putting it together. Go forth and craft, my sweet friends!
