Something new from me

Good morning Tuesday! For today's Scrapbuggy project I wanted to do something I had not yet tried. I'm very pleased and hope you like it.

I made my first easel card! If you haven't made one yet, do it. It's really a lot easier than it looks. I watched a few vid tutes on them and then decided just to go for it, and this is what I came up with. I had made the front of the card already so the measurements on all the other projects didn't fit for what I needed. At any rate, once you do it, you'll see how simpy-pimpy it is and won't need measurements or anything like that. FUN!

This is what it looks like straight on when opened.

This is the simple piece I added to the bottom so the card will not close up when standing. Adding an extra piece to the top gives it just enough of an edge for it to catch on.

And now let's get down to the details. I used the Lifestyle Crafts nesting frames and nesting circles for my sentiments. Love combining the nesting shapes for different looks.

And of course, more handmade flowers. I don't know what it is about these, but I sure enjoy making them and using them on my projects! When you make your own, you can match them to anything!

Product list:
Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Frames
Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Circles
DCWV textured cardstock
October Afternoon 5&Dime pattern paper
Bo Bunny Et Cetera pattern papers
Bo Bunny Et Cetera jewels
Verve Stamps, Heartfelt thanks
Verve Stamps, Sunny Days {leaves}
Verve, coordinating leaves die
Martha Scallop Dot border punch
Sticko flourish sticker
Cotton lace, ink, cinnamon stickles, generic key charm

I hope you liked today's project. And be sure to stay tuned as the month progresses as the studio undergoes a complete makeover! Woot!!! Thanks for coming by today!

Monday Madness....Imagine That!

Don't worry that it's Monday. You'll have lots craftyness to make you smile when you see the Design Team projects for this week's Monday Madness! :)

For my card today I used two stamps from the Mixed Holiday Sentiments set.  I love the scratchy scary font! Perfect for a haunting Halloween greeting!

I wasn't sure I was going to like this when I started it, but now that it's done I love it!

Handmade flower and leaf with a tag from the MME Mischievous coordinating brads. I used Memento Potter's Clay ink for the sentiment and it matches perfectly with the papers.

The Happy Halloween sentiment didn't fair as well as I had hoped {I knew it would bleed on my twill ribbon} but I think it works since it's supposed to be a grungy look anyway. Orange button, black cat button, and one of my handmade stick pins pulls it all together.

And I couldn't just leave it alone. LOL After I took the pics I added this butterfly, with black stickles, to the leaf sprig above the flower. :)

Thanks for coming by for Monday Madness! Be sure to check out the other designer blogs as well for more yummy eye candy!

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

You may be seeing subtle changes in the blog over the last couple of days. I'm in the process of making over the WHOLE THING! I totally LOVE my current background and color scheme, don't get me wrong, but I think it's time for a change of scenery. And since my house is too small to rearrange the furniture every other month {as I used to do in the past! LOL}, I'm rearrange my blog instead!!!

So please bear with me as changes come about. Hoping to be done in a couple of weeks. Just in time for a very special event coming the last weekend of September. {hint, hint} Stay tuned! ;)

Thanks for your patience!

Good mail day!

FINALLY the waiting paid off! :) Turned out to be a super day after all. Not only did I score at Wally's, but I also got TWO packages in the mail today, not just the one I was expecting. COOL! Here's my mini-haul:

My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Christmas 6x6 pad - need to decide if I'm going to make my cards this year and if so, get my butt in gear!!! As well as the super adorable Mischievous Halloween 6x6 paper pad and matching brads. These pads are both double sided papers too. Really a great value not to mention they're just really cute and perfect for card making. Also I snagged every last one of the Red Rock Bazzill they had in stock. Been looking for that color for probably a year now. So happy to have a few in my stash now, even if they are only 8.5x11 size.

and then, from Verve Stamps - oh my goodness. I had not heard of this company until the other day and had to try them. Come to find out, they are practically next door to me in Boise, ID!!! Who knew!? I'm anxious to give these a try. Their Design Team blew my socks off. And darn near my undies too. Hold onto your drawers when you view the Verve Gallery, cuz I'm tellin' ya....! Here's just one delicious sample. You'll see why I had to get this particular coffee/tea set.

And the monkey...well, most of you will know that was just a given. Simply could not pass him up! ;)

Wally's paid off!

Wasn't looking forward to Wally's on a Saturday, but the cupboards were bare and we really needed to get groceries so I ventured out and braved our Super Wally's. I only had to say 'excuse me' once when those ladies standing in front of the lettuce bin pretended I was standing there holding an empty veggie bag for my health {rude people piss me off}, and I only had to hide two carts from their MIA owners today. At least I didn't get into any fist fights. Hubs insists I fight my way through the store every week leaving a trail of bruised and battered Walcreatures in my wake. HAHAHA!!!

But today was not too bad considering they were having 50% off sections all throughout the store. Not only were these two Cricut Lite carts marked down from $39 to $29, but then I got 50% off that. I couldn't pass them up at $14.50 each! I also picked up this super wide sheer ribbon {wish they had other colors too} and this pack of colored fine sharpies. Hadn't seen those before and, what do you know, they jumped right into my cart. How fortuitous!

Happy weekend crafty peeps. Don't forget to pop in tomorrow for a very special blog hop! ;)

East coasters you are all in my thoughts and prayers. May God kick bitchy Irene's butt and keep you all safe!!! {smoochies!}

My Creative Time Design Team Day

Welcome to the studio for another My Creative Time project! Today's assignment was to use the Gift Card Sentiments set with the colors of  teal, red and chocolate chip. How lucky for me I actually had paper in this color combo!!! Woot!

and the Gift Card Holder die.
I also used the Fancy Frame Stamp and Die set for my project today.

Isn't it super cute! I love the gift card holder - it can be gussied up as much as you wish, or simply cut from pretty paper and left as is. Either way makes an equally lovely presentation.

TEAL: Close up of the frame stamp with the sentiment - I added cute little holly leaves and used tiny hearts for the berries with glossy accents.

CHOCOLATE CHIP: And my cute little embellies ... I'm all about the details you know! ;) I used a sweet little gingerbread man and mini hearts with yummy maraschino twine.

RED: Inside I've added a gift card that matches the paper {I did say I'm all about the details! LOL}. I keep a stack of {empty} gift cards in all different colors and themes to use for props in my scrapbook projects. Then when I do need a gift, I just add the bucks to it and I'm all set to send it off! :)

Here are a couple more ideas for using this fun die.

Mini magazine file card holder

Usually I don't spend a lot of time on You Tube or checking for tutorials unless I'm looking for something specific, but this was shared on facebook and I had to check it out. {Here's the link to the tutorial I followed at Muse My World blog}. It holds easily 6 invite sized cards and envelopes, and could probably hold two more even with lumpy ribbons and embellishments. This is just the cutest presentation. I don't have a cellophane bag to put this in right now, but I would suggest you put this in a bag then tie the ribbon around it before gifting. Isn't it so cute though!

For my set of cards, I used Imaginisce Lucy Bird pattern papers, stamp sentiments by My Creative Time, and the faces are all Peachy Keen stamps; Lifestyle Crafts nesting squares, Lifestyle Crafts nesting lacy circles, Lifestyle Crafts nesting circles, and various Quickutz dies.

And last but not least, my favorite of this set! I think this came out so cute, I'm really proud of this one!

Stamped sentiment, dotted frame and wings are all by My Creative Time. Guitar is from the Everyday Paperdoll Cricut cartridge. I stamped the wings on clear plastic from some stamp packaging using Staz-On ink and adhered with a couple of tiny dots of Glossy Accents.

I love how the ribbon and bow treatment came out! I wish the hot pink bling on the hot pink flower showed up better in the photo, but I guess you can't have everything.

If there is any specific die you'd like to know more about, please feel free to email me. I used way too many different things this week to list individually, but I'll be happy to give more info by email. Thanks for coming by today. I hope you'll try this adorable mini magazine holder gift box!
