Tri-shutter card

I have been wanting to try this type of card for a long time. I finally found an excellent and super easy to follow tutorial (thank you, Crafting Katie, for sharing the link on your blog!) and this is my first attempt. I really love this and will definitely be making more of this style in the future. I hope you'll watch this video so you can see what I can't show in flat photos, and also just how easy it is to make. Click here for the card tutorial by Mary of Cardz TV.

Now for the details! I used black as my base for this one because I think it is a stunning backdrop for the Lifestyle Crafts Wildflower Gift Set paper collection. Here on the front, I've used four (4) different papers from the set and the wildflower blossoms die as well. Simple.

And here is the card fully opened and lieing flat.

Now let's see how we got from beginning to end. :) This is the card as you begin to open it:

and the message inside, using the label and shadow dies that come in the set, and sentiment stamp by My Creative Time:
and the bird, also a die in the gift set, which appears to be perched on the flower branch. I strung it using invisible thread (like fishing line or monofilment) so that it "floats" in the air when the card is open and looks as if it's sitting on the branch. I love how it came out!

Here it is from a "bird's eye view" -- LOL! Isn't it fun.

Theme ideas and uses for this fun card are endless. Imagine what a fun invitation it would be, for example. I hope you watched the video and will give this a try for yourself. I promise, it's super easy to do and fun too.
