Masking, Avery Elle Challenge

Today's card is for the masking challenge at Avery Elle. You have till midnight, February 23 if you'd like to play too. I used the Avery Elle Rounded Diamonds stamp set and coordinating dies for my card. The pretty art-deco looking piece in the sentiment box also comes with this stamp set. Adds just the perfect finishing touch.

One of my fave color combos, Distress Ink Peeled Paint and Peacock Feathers, and sequins for texture.

My Favorite Things, Sketch Challenge 214

I used only dies for my card today. The only ink on the entire card is what I used for shading the flowers and leaves. No sentiment either, as I used the pattern paper for my message. Any sentiment can go on the inside when I give the card. I kinda like it! Hope you do too.

February Challenge, Jaded Blossom

Today's project is for the February challenge for Jaded Blossom. Using the We Go Together-2 stamp set by Jaded Blossom for the sentiment, I made this Valentine goody bag topper!

The bananas stamp is from an old old monkey set by The Paper Studio, and the adorable monkey is a digi stamp by Melonheadz. I used the gift card holder die from My Creative Time to cut the topper itself from a piece of scrap and added some hand doodling.

Another super cute sentiment by Jaded Blossom from the Lollipops Galore stamp set. The heart and oval shapes are dies by Quickutz. This paper scrap is by Fancy Pants from the 6x6 Love paper pad.  I used my Making Memories Ribbon Slot Punch Tool to create the tabs for the lollipop to slide through.

Lawnscaping Challenge #99

The challenge over at Lawn Fawn this week is to embrace the white space; give the white space a prominent place on your card. I think I did ok with this one! I used the 'dream' set by Lawn Fawn, as well as the coordinating dies, and for the background, Teeny Tiny Backdrops border stamps.

I stamped each of the feathers with versamark ink and heat embossed clear. The larger of the two is up off the background with foam tape. I wish the Wink of Stella would show up on the star background. Poo.

Day 7 Card Class, 1 stamp 3 ways

Lots of pics for today's class, so let's get started! The lesson today was using one stamp in three ways. I chose the 'We Totally Click' stamp set by Paper Smooches for my cards, and this cute camera image to use three ways. All the sentiments I've used are also included in this set.

For the first card, I used the image as a border. Super simple and really quick to complete. I added a little copic shadowing and a tiny contrasting piece to each side of the camera border...

 ...and lines to the 'click' for a little extra interest.

The second card is also super simple. I hand cut the flag banners layering them directly to the cardbase, and cut and stamped the camera three times.

I colored one of the cameras and embossed it with clear powder, then layered it on top of the others with foam tape between each for dimension. I also heat embossed the sentiment and tiny smiley face.

Card number three is still clean and simple but takes a little more effort than the first two examples. I cut four cameras from precut squares to fit the working space using the coordinating die {sold separately}, stamped three of them, each in a different color ink and heat embossed them with clear powder, then colored each of the frames with coordinating copic marker and adhered with foam tape cut into strips. I actually cut a fifth camera too but didn't need the frame portion. For the sentiment, I cut the center from the fifth camera to use as a template to cut from plain paper, then I stamped the sentiment onto that piece and adhered it to the fourth camera. I colored the frame for this one in dark gray copic marker and adhered to the black background mat with foam tape as I did for the others. Then I adhered each of the cameras in their frames directly to the mat beneath for a kind of "window" look.

This side view gives a little better perspective on the windows/frames. Not difficult, just takes a little more time than the previous two cards. Fun technique though!
