Happy St Paddy's Day!

Top o' the mornin' to ya! You don't have to be Irish to go green on this day. But I am...Irish that is. And so is my little friend, Jerome here. LOL Isn't he cute? He is actually Jerome the Gnome, adorable stamp by Paper Smooches, that I dressed in green. I think he makes a cute leprechaun.

Speech bubble and sentiment by My Creative Time, cauldron by Quickutz. For the gold, I used a paper punch on gold cardstock. Oh, and the mushrooms are a mini stamp by Magnolia.

Make it Girly Challenge

It's time for the new challenge at Melonheadz Friends. This time it's a girly theme! I love girly. :) For my card, I used the Paris set.

Added bling to her dress and a flower to her beret. Had to...it's a girly challenge after all. :)

The inside sentiment is from the Girly Girl set, and the shopping bag again from the Paris set. Isn't this a fun way to give a girlfriend a gift card?!

A little more inlay

For this card I combined a couple of techniques using the faux layering as well as the graffiti stamping techniques. What do you think.

I love the background 'sign' icon by Paper Trey Ink. Reminds me of Vegas. The star cuts are by My Creative Time, and the 'cheers' word is by Paper Smooches.

The "happy hour" stamp comes from Paper Smooches, Get Outta Town stamp set; other sentiments are from My Creative Time, Some Days Simply Require...; the drink glasses from My Creative Time, Keepin it Classy, and the arrow from My Creative Time, Circle Tab Sentiments.

It's been a fun week of classes and I've really enjoyed all the new techniques I've learned. Stay tuned for more of my creative endeavors from class. ♥

Inlaid die cut technique

Hi there! I hope you're having an enjoyable weekend. I had a great week taking an online card class (you can see the badge on my right sidebar) and really had a lot of fun. I learned several new techniques too, which I hope to incorporate into my cards from now on. Some of you may have seen these on the Scrapendipity Studio Facebook Fan Page.

The technique I'm showing today is faux layering. Instead of layering each die cut piece and ending with a thicker finished card, this method allows you to achieve the same basic look but without the bulk.

Isn't this a neat look? For this card I used the new feather dies by Paper Smooches, and the 'fabulous' word by Technique Tuesday. I think it looks -- fabulous!

For my next card, I used this technique with speech bubble and square dies, instead of shapes and a word Instead I stamped my sentiment and image. This cute set is also by Paper Smooches, called Perpetual Bliss.

I totally love this sweet vintage telephone!

Learning how to mask....and liking it!

So I took a card class this week and totally loving all the fun techniques I've learned. The cards here I made using a masking technique to make a plaid background. This is so much fun and easy to do. There are zillions of color combos you can use and I want to try so many more!!!

For this card, I decided first on the colors I wanted the jukebox, this adorable image by Paper Smooches from the Perpetual Bliss stamp set, then I coordinated the plaid to match. Real Red, Stampin Up; London Fog, Memento; Tuxedo Black, Memento. Also, while you can't really tell in the pics, I covered the "glass" front of the jukebox in glossy accents. All the stamps you see here, dime, notes, sentiment and stars, are all included in the Perpetual Bliss stamp set. I love this set!!!

And to give this little guy some moves, I added a wobble! Too cute. :)

My second card (which is actually the first one I did) leaves no white space at all. I used five colors on this one. Looking at it now, the colors and plaid remind me of some favorite summer pajamas I had when I was a kid. LOL Anyway, the colors I used for this card are Stampin Up So Saffron, Bashful Blue, and Certainly Celery; and Memento inks, Rich Cocoa and Rose Bud.

This adorably sad little bunny is a BossKut die I have had for years. Looks like he dropped his jelly beans! The jelly beans are a Quickutz die, also from a long time ago. The sentiment comes from the Baby Easter Bunny stamp set by Peachy Keen Stamps.
