Gracie's layout

Here is Gracie's interpretation of this week's sketch challenge from the ScrapMart blog. Her layouts are all her own ideas. She is 8 years old and has been scrapping with me for about 5 years. For this page, Grace used the QK Yogurt grand alphabet, Bosskut Design-a-Flowers and fish from the Cricut Life's a Beach cartridge.

Fun Summer!!!

No pages to share today, but I want to first say thanks to all who read my blog and leave comments. A special thanks to all of you who have signed up as followers. It means so much to me to know I'm inspiring someone and that what I do is interesting enough to others that they actually want to be notified when I add a new project! THANK YOU!!!

Since Grace has been here we have been soooo busy and having so much fun. We haven't done a whole lot of scrapping yet, but we have been busy with other creative things such as repainting the little table and chairs in her room that we'll move to the scraproom when they are finished (pics coming soon), we finished painting the kitchen and mud room which looks so nice but still needs some finishing touches, repainted a shelf and decorative wood pieces to match the new living room and generally having a blast. Grace and grampa have gone fishing and plan to go again soon. I can't wait to see the pics Grace got with the disposable camera grampa got for her.

It's been so hot -90s!- that we haven't been outside all that much other than to get wet in the sprinkler, but we did walk to the park the other day and got some great pics to scrap.

We hope you're all having a wonderful summer, or winter for our friends in other parts of the globe! :)

Independence Day

Just a few pics you'll see in upcoming layouts.

Gracie putting out the flag on the morning of the 4th.

Lights on the hill behind our house. This is the display we see all year round, except for a couple of weeks around Easter when there is a huge cross, and at Christmas when there is a star. I don't know how big this is, but it can be seen from most anywhere in town. Behind this light display are towers, city power supply station and such.A few pics of the fireworks I got while playing with different settings on my point and shoot digital camera. Not bad for having no tripod or any fancy equipment, huh!

QuicKutz Summer of Fun, Weeks3&4

What fun to catch fish right off the front lawn, huh!? Well that's what happens at the lake house. Grace had a blast last summer, and we hope to be able to plan a trip back there again this year. Besides Zelda, I've also used the solid nesting stars, scallop borders and flourishes.

More pics from our trip to the lake house last summer. Our silly lab, Joey, is such a princess and SO SPOILED (thanks to daddy! LOL) that she goes everywhere Randy goes and does anything he does. You should have seen her shaking so hard she could barely stand up yet still she ventured onto the float when Randy got on there. She's so silly!! LOL So, for the title, Zelda Grand and Chicken Noodle. Other dies are the Week 3 Scottie dog which is a great size for journaling, flip flops and sunglasses from the Relax gift set. Stitching is hand drawn.

And one more. Just a quick card to send good thoughts and a hug. The Week 3 teddy is a lot cuter than I thought he would be. Honestly, I'm not a lover of teddy bears but this guy is definitely huggable!
