I'm home from a month in sunny San Diego. It's been a fun vacation with my sister, plus we made a quick trip to visit the folks before settling back in here at home. With summer in full swing, I'm glad to be back to my craft space and ready to start creating again.
K has season tickets to the Padres, so we went to three games while I was there. They won two of the three so that was fun.

The San Diego Padres are excited to launch their Legacy Brick Program as part of their Gallagher Square renovation project celebrating Petco Park’s 20th Anniversary in 2024. Fans will now have the opportunity to cement their legacy at America’s #1 ballpark by customizing an engraved brick to be placed in the new Tony Gwynn Terrace viewing deck near the iconic “Mr. Padre” statue.
Fans who purchased bricks can now find their bricks on the Tony Gwynn Terrace at Gallagher Square.
And this is my nephew's brick. :) He is 13.
We babysat the grand-dogs for a couple of days while the kids were in Palm Springs with friends. Aren't they adoramous?! Stella Rae (left) and Kyla Joy (right).
And we even cooked once. My niece orders Hello Fresh and, since they weren't going to be home, she left us a Spicy Maple Chicken dish to cook up for dinner. It was so good! (although, we left out the pepper flakes, so it was basically just Maple Chicken, roasted green beans and sweet potatoes.) Highly recommend. I'm considering giving Hello Fresh a try now that I'm home.
Of course we also played lots and lots of Yahtzee as I mentioned we would; in the kitchen, at the office, and sometimes outside.
We always enjoy our tasty bevs whenever we are together. This was at Marieta's, our fave Mexican restaurant.
This was in the airport lounge as we waited for our flight home. Oh, I forgot to mention, she flew home with me so we could both go see the folks for a bit.
The night before we left, we had dinner the kids at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. My sister with her two grands, my niece and nephew Anthony and Brielle.
Kathy and I were both celebrated for our birthdays (me June 4, Kathy July 24) and got free dessert, delicious cheesecake!
It was a gorgeous night and we had a great time. (Can you see the crescent moon between the palms?)
It's always too short a visit, no matter how long we are together LOL but it feels great to be back home and I'm already looking forward to this winter when we will be back in SoCal again. We've missed a few years what with Covid and then hubsy's surgery, so it will be extra nice when we get back there. We already have our AirBnb confirmed so we're good to go unless something unforeseen happens again. Oh yeah, Kath and I drove over to check out the place where we'll be staying while I was down. Can't wait!
