How about some more nautical!
The blog hop and release party may be over, but I haven't finished playing with the new nautical release stamps and dies from My Creative Time! I had this idea and had to make it, so I'm sharing it with you now.
I couldn't NOT think of a shaker with this porthole die. And because it's a porthole, it has to look out at sea, and if you're looking out at see you could, by chance, see a whale, right!? I think it turned out very cute. I used metallic gold cardstock with matching gold brads for the frame, and acetate for the front and back so you can see the adorable nautical washi tape behind.
The anchor die is the smaller of two dies on the Anchors and Heart Die set, and the sentiment comes in the Hey, Sailor stamp set.
The whale and the waves come with the Lost at Sea set, which includes the porthole die as well. This was such a fun release, I hope you got this one. It's perfect for summer vacation trips to the beach, a cruise, or a sailboat ride. If you look closely, you can see the tiny anchor and chain, sailboat, fish and seashell made from shrink film. Making them was too much fun! :)
Product List:
My Creative Time, Lost at Sea stamp and die set
My Creative Time, Hey, Sailor stamp set
My Creative Time, Anchors and Heart die set
My Creative Time, Stitched layering stars
Washi tape, clear acetate, foam tape, brads, seed beads, jute, shrink film

MCT May Release Blog Hop
It's here!! Finally the full release is available for purchase!! Oh my goodness, I can hear the plastic melting way over here! I just know you're going to love this release as much as we do. One of the most fun to work with in, well, EVER! And I have two cards to share today to prove it. ;)
My first card features the new set, Live, Love, Laugh and Be Happy. This set comes with several sentiments as well as adorable background stamps made for the butterfly dies {two of them seen here} available in the Pretty Butterflies and Dragonflies die set. I also used the previously released cartoon cloud die, popped with foam tape for dimension.
The sentiment comes with the set, as well as the butterfly trails. I used the index tab for the sentiment block.
In addition to the orange plaid background stamps on the pink butterflies, I added stickles for extra pizzaz. I think it worked!
My second card features another new set from this release. In addition to the Pretty Butterflies and Dragonflies set {see the small butterfly? Also included with the butterfly dies!} I also cut two of the flowers from a scrap piece and added them with foam tape to give the card more pop.
I used the Speech Bubble Word Die, "hello" and the sentiment "there" from the included stamp set. The adorable scallop border came with the paper pad I used for this card, Kaisercraft Happy Snaps, 6.5x6.5 paper pad.

This one is just fun! I used the new Social Media dies and Hey Sailor stamp set to create my greeting.
This sentiment fits perfectly on the arrow die from the stitched mini frame and arrow dies.
The second part of the sentiment is also included in the Hey Sailor set. I used the mini sailboat stamp from the previously released You Are Here set.
The inside sentiment is also in the Hey Sailor set; the waves are from the new release Lost at Sea, and the heart is the largest of the Stitched Layering Heart dies released previously.

I'm showcasing three sets from the new release today. You're going to love this release, it's amazing! I used Build a Scripty and Watercolor Background sets for this card. I LOVE both these sets!!!!
The feathers I cut by hand from vellum, and the sentiment is from a previous release, My Little Firecracker. To achieve the "vintage" look of the stripes, I stamped first with Distress Ink, tea dye then stamped over the top with fired brick and faded jeans. The white is Whisper White by Stampin' Up. For the scripty background, I used Distress Ink antique linen and stamped off before stamping onto my card for a faded look. The sentiment is heat embossed with black embossing powder.
With my second card, I am showcasing two fun new sets, Speech Bubble Sentiments with die, and Bunch of Fun Circle dies. Really fun set! The words are DIES that come with the Speech Bubble set!
In addition to the new sets, I also used the banner from the Vintage Label and Banner die set, and tiny hearts from the 4x4 Journaling Card die, confetti. My sentiment, which is something I say to my husband on a regular basis, I pieced together using the same Speech Bubble set. FUN!!!!

Whatever Wednesday with My Creative Time
Today's projects are designer's choice. I chose to make bookmarks to go with the altered composition books I made for two of the grand girls. They love to read and they have books everywhere so another book mark will definitely find a home.
This one is for Olivia. "Hey, Lady" is often the greeting we exchange in our texts.
And she wears glasses.
This one is for Emmy who will be in First Grade next year. I can't believe the babiest grandchild is starting full time school soon. Sigh.
And here are the matching composition books I altered for the girls. I know they will love them. For Olivia's {yellow/blue} I used My Mind's Eye, 6x6 Oliver paper pad and a scrap of October Afternoon {retro ads}.
The paper pad I used for Emmy's book {pink/yellow/green} is the Gertie line of the Stella & Rose collection, also a 6x6 by My Mind's Eye. I left a lot more empty space for doodling on Emmy's book.
Product List - bookmarks:
My Creative Time, Girls' Night Out stamp set {hey, lady}
My Creative Time, Post Card Add ons {tiny butterfly}
My Creative Time, Here's Looking at You {glasses}
My Creative Time, Once Upon a Time stamp set
My Creative Time, You Are Here {coffee cup; arrows}
My Creative Time, Stitched Sweetheart dies
My Creative Time, Stitched Buttons {circle; star}
My Creative Time, Stitched Stars
My Creative Time, 4x4 Journal Card + more {arrow die}
My Creative Time, Small Talk stamp set {you rock}
My Creative Time, Plane and Simple stamp
My Creative Time, Now & Then stamp set
Eyelets, twine, buttons

Try Me Tuesday - feathers!
Feathers are so current and on trend right now, we thought we would use them as our theme for today's projects. So....we are making feathers! It's super easy and you have unlimited choices in color, paper, etc. They don't have to be perfect, even birds' feathers aren't, and they are fun to add to any card or scrapbook page. If you'd like to give this a try, here's a quick tutorial to help you get started.
Here's my take on this fun idea! I started with a soft blue watercolor background and added a cloud for my sentiment. The feathers are the perfect embellishment for the "fly away with me" theme. To keep the theme going, I added a tiny wood veneer bird, and "drew" a couple of birds in flight off in the distance.
The sentiment is from the Fly Away With Me sentiment stamp set. I hope you'll try this fun and easy idea too!
Product List:
My Creative Time, Fly Away With Me cloud dies
My Creative Time, Fly Away With Me sentiment stamps
Handcut feathers, wood veneer bird, jute twine
