Inspire Me Tuesday

Happy Tuesday and welcome to Inspire Me Tuesday with the My Creative Time Design Team. My inspiration today comes from a fun youtube video by Ken and Terry from Spellbinders for their Try It Tuesday. I was inspired to try using a watercolor technique and really had fun with it, as you may have seen on two previous projects of mine.

Today's card was super simple. I only used three colors, plus black for my stamping. For the water color background I used Tim Holtz Distress Stains, Forest Moss and Peeled Paint; and for the dragonflies, Chipped Sapphire.

Designer Challenge - Summer Theme!

Welcome to the new designer challenge with My Creative Time. Today's challenge is by team member, Amy. I had so much fun with this one, I hope you will play along and link up with us for this super fun Summer Theme challenge...any project you want to make, as long as it is summer themed! PLUS a drawing. Can't beat that!

I made this beach theme shaker magnet. Isn't it fun?! The base is the large polaroid frame die, turned upside down.

My flower was supposed to be something like a hibiscus. Gotta work on that. But I do like the flower even though it's not as hibiscus-ish as I was going for. LOL Tropical leaves and flip flops are dies by QK. The flip flops are made from that same watercolor paper I made for Tag it Tuesday.

I even made the little crab and seashells...with shrink film! and the background is sandpaper! :) This is one of my fave projects ever!

3D Wednesday time once again

Oh how I love 3D Wednesday! It gives me a chance to play with so many different things, and sometimes all in the same project. Today I have these adorable summer wood crafts that my hubs helped me with, thanks to his shop full of power tools. :)

Watermelon always means summer to me. This one was the first one I made...

...then I decided it needed some summer buddies, so I did the orange and lemon. Citrus is summery, right. And lemonade stands seem to pop up everywhere during the summer. :)

Once I finished the fruity friends, I needed stands, so I told hubs what I had in mind and he went right to work and made these cuties for me. I embellished with ribbon and cute summer tags and voila...cute summer picnic table decorations!

Tag it Tuesday!! -- New feature with My Creative Time

Happy Tuesday, crafty friends! Today we are sharing another new feature, Tag it Tuesday. We'll be featuring tags of all sizes, shapes and themes to inspire you year round. We hope you'll enjoy it as much as we do and get your mojo in high gear.

For our first Tag it Tuesday, we're using a summer color scheme...RED, ORANGE, and YELLOW. Here's my first project for this fun new feature. Using these colors, I made the paper for the umbrella and the sun using watercolor paper and Tim Holtz Distress Stains in worn lipstick, spiced marmalade, and squeezed lemonade.

My little sun is from the build-a-banner kit set. I used a sweet new Peachy Keen face with glossy accents. Adorbs.

The cloud is from the July release, and the umbrella is also a MCT die. I used foam tape on just the upper portion to give it even more texture and dimension.

Sentiment is from the You're Brilliant stamp set.

I went a little crazy with projects for today's hop! It's really just too much fun to call this "work" ;) Here I made a tiny little matchbox and coordinating tag.

Inside are yummy chocolate toffee nuggets. Mmm! My fave. You can see the size of the box is pretty small as it holds 4 candies. The box is a QK die.

See how much fun you can have with just one die!? Well, and a couple others. And some stamps.....but still, TAGS! :) In the words of Junie B. Jones, I love those guys! This could easily be your go-to die for gift tags for any occasion. I barely touched the ideas I have in my head, so I hope you won't get tired of seeing them. No doubt there will be lots more coming soon.

Trendy hexies and sequins

Happy weekend, bloggy friends! Well, I've been sucked in to the hexagon and sequin trend so I've been playing around with them cuz they are quite simply, lots of fun. :) Here's a card I created yesterday using some paper scraps and sequins.
