My Favorite Things, Sketch Challenge #347

This week's sketch from My Favorite Things, Card Challenges. They have a new sketch each week, so you can join in any time you want. You may even win some MFT goodies.

I used the re-released Witch Way is the Candy set for the main focus on my card. I love the pumpkins in this set.

In addition, I used the skull from the Party Like a Pirate set and the bat from the Fab BOO lous Friends set. The leaves are from the Jungle Gym tiger cubs.

Fab BOO lous Box Card

New Halloween set by Birdie Brown for My Favorite Things. Super cute little ghosty images. I couldn't decide on just one or two, so I used a whole bunch and put them all together in this one card. Really fun to make and I know the kidlets will love it. :)

The fun thing about this card style is that, even though it is very interactive, it fits nicely and flatly into a regular A2 envelope. See?

I added a greeting to the "front" - the front as it is folded, anyway. Remember not to glue it all the way across though, or your card won't unfold.

See the sentiment poking out on the left of the box/card front?

Just look at all the Halloween pals I was able to incorporate into this one card! I love that you can really pile on the fun with this style card, or you can use just a few if you'd rather. Either way, it's fun to make and the recipient will no doubt be in awe of your creative prowess! ;) I do not have a video/youtube of this process, but click here to see the one that helped me refresh my memory. Hopefully it will help you too. It first appears complicated, but really, it isn't. There are lots of steps in the process, but it isn't difficult at all. There are lots of other videos as well, so feel free to browse if you need more or other info before you get started. :)

Thanks for looking. :)

My Favorite Things, Sketch #346

Love this week's sketch challenge. I started with an idea for a Halloween card, but it didn't turn out that way. I'll see how the next one goes. LOL I still like this one though. I challenged myself to mask the whole scene without using die cuts or foam tape. Totally flat card! Go me. :)

BB Party Like a Pirate stamp set. Had a tiny accident with one of my copics that decided to leak at the very last second and mess up my treasure chest. I think I did pretty well with the colorless blender cleaning it up. Could you tell if I hadn't mentioned it??

Day 3, Background Bonanza

Today in Camp Create we are creating backgrounds. I sort of didn't follow directions completely as the background is supposed to be the focal point, but I did make a background I like and that rarely happens. LOL So I'm sharing it anyway. ;) Thanks for looking!

Day 2, Magnificent Masking

We're back at Camp Create for Day 2 where we are creating with masking techniques. For today's masking challenge, I used a seashell scallop stencil and masked off a border in three blended colors. I used those same colors as the theme throughout my card, including the sweet little mermaid from the Mermazing stamp set by My Favorite Things.  See product list below.

I love her. :)

MFT Camp Create, Ses 2 - Day 1

Welcome crafty friends. Today is Day 1 of My Favorite Things Session 2, Camp Create. Our project for today is Inlaid Die Cutting. Fun technique, and great for cards you may want to mail as there is no dimension, it all lays flat, but still has eye-catching texture.

Super simple, hope you'll try it if this is a new technique to you. Thanks for coming by!

Cutest whale ever, by Peachy Keen Stamps

Come on. Can you even stand the cuteness?? Kathy, Peachy Queen, has done it again. This whale is the cutest in his sailor hat (which is a separate stamp, so he doesn't have to wear it if you don't want him to). I made this one for my mom who is recovering from surgery. I think she'll like him. :)

Here he is on his slider - love these interactive gadgets! - playing in the ocean. I made my ocean scene using several stamp sets and distress inks on watercolor paper .

See product list below for links to the stamp sets I used for this card.
