Tropical Staycation

We couldn't go to the beach so we brought the beach to us! :) Grace wears a lei made from the tropical splash release, adorns her straw with the drink umbrella and wears a hibiscus flower in her hair.

As well as a shell bra we found at the dollar store. HAHAHA! Isn't is super cute!

We made the hair clip using the hibiscus border die. Cut two flowers, two leaves, two centers and two pistils and adhere them all together to make a sturdy flower. Using hot glue, adhere to a hair clip and you're good to go!

Product list:
Lifestyle Crafts Tropical Splash, hibiscus border
Lifestyle Crafts Tropical Splash, paper lei
Lifestyle Crafts Tropical Splash, drink umbrella
Bazzill cardstock
hair clip, hot glue, straws

Thanks for coming by. I hope you're enjoying the tropical splash release as much as I am!

Today I am giving away the scallop and circle dies that coordinate with this stamp release! All you have to do is follow my blog {if you don't already} and leave a comment here along with a way for me to contact you. You have 11 chances to win, simply by commenting on each of the blogs in the hop. Good luck, everyone!

For my project today, I was assigned the All Around Halloween set. This set is so adorable and works equally well on scrapbook pages {see my layout for Tuesday's sneak peek} as it does for cards and other projects.

I used the curly label die and the coordinating border stamp from the Inspiring Words {Accents} set for my sentiment.

For the crescent moon, I used a die to cut a circle then lay the die partway over the circle to cut the crescent shape for the moon. I cut the bats from black card stock that I heat embossed with clear embossing powder, and attached them with foam tape.

My handmade roses and stick pin embellish the sheer purple bow.

If you are starting here for the hop, you'll want to hop on over to Emma's blog to start at the beginning. Be sure to check out her Friday video too! Thanks for joining us for the new release. Good luck to everyone in the drawing! Remember, you have ELEVEN chances to win!

Today's sneak comes from the All Around Halloween set. I used four stamps from this set for my layout. My little niece is, indeed, too cute to spook! What a little squishy face she is. She looks like she's saying, "boo!" doesn't she. LOL

I also used two stamps, the scallop circle and stitched circle for each of my embellishments.

My title is the Haunted font by Quickutz. I embossed a piece of plain black card stock with clear embossing powder before cutting my letters.

Have a ball!

I'm really loving the summery Tropical Splash release by Lifestyle Crafts this month. Super cute for summer activities and vacation pages and cards.

I love that you can customize the adorable "Gilligan's Island" style sign with the font, and in this case, I also used a stamp sentiment. Jump rings make it look like it's actually hanging so I ran twine through them to keep them in place. I added the arrow from the QK retro signs set and used red stickles to simulate blinking lights.

Can you see what I used for my sun??? That's the center from one of the hibiscus border flowers! The beach umbrella and sand are from the April Showers die. Umbrellas aren't JUST for rain, you know. ;) The sand is the rain puddle, which I cut from .... SANDpaper. :) Cool huh.

Product List:
Lifestyle Crafts Tropical Splash, beach ball
Lifestyle Crafts Tropical Splash, Tiki alpha and signs set
Lifestyle Crafts Tropical Splash, hibiscus border
Buggy Designs, April showers umbrella and rain puddle
Bazzill textured cardstock
Little Yellow Bicycle pattern papers
Quickutz adhesive back cork paper
My Creative Time, Have Fun in the Sun stamp sentiment
The Twinery, mandarin
Tim Holtz jumprings and Distress ink
Ranger stickles
Sharpie fine point pen

Hope you enjoyed this week's project. I'm really HAVING A BALL with the Tropical Splash release, as if you couldn't tell! LOL Have a great week. :)

delicious watermelon

I can't think of summer without thinking of watermelon, and watermelon always screams summer to me. It's  just the epitome of summer, if you ask me. And I love it!

My page today features a watermelon theme because the photo is grandgirl, Mila enjoying a big hunk of it. YUM! I got these papers just for this photo. They are Sweet Summertime by Little Yellow Bicycle. Please pardon the funky weird color blotches. Those are merely a result of stitching the two lumpy scanned parts together.

Cute stickers from the coordinating sticker sheet embellished with buttons in watermelon colors and vine stamp.

Sunshine sticker also from the set; stamped watermelon is by Peachy Keen, "delicious" stamp is Cottage Cutz Impressions and black heart bling was a RAK from a friend - sorry I don't recall who makes them.

Product list:
Pattern papers and stickers from Sweet Summertime collection by Little Yellow Bicycle
Bazzill textured cardstock
Bazzill Swiss dot cardstock
Martha Stewart arches border punch
Quickutz ticket die, 0652

Peachy Keen pumpkin trio die/stamp set, vine stamp
Cottage Cutz Cottage Impressions In The Kitchen 'delicious' stamp
Buttons, ribbon, heart bling, Sharpie fine pen, Memento inks

Happy weekend peeps! We still have one more day. Enjoy it to the max! :)
