Fishing boys

More fun with the April Back to Basics release. I just LOVE these dies!

First up is this layout of the Randster with another winning salmon. I used the ribbon banner border for the title, this time using it on the bottom of the page. I printed his entry ticket and photo of the winners board in mini size and attached them to the clipboard. The instant photo die is perfect for showing off his entry on the winners board. I added the cc binder clip for accent. In addition, I used the 2x2 fishing pole, again attaching real fishing line to the hook for fun.

(sorry for the blurry pic, but you can see the fishing line here anyway)

The second layout is an 8.5x11 page for my son's fishing album. I used the instant photos with the cc push pin to make it appear they are displayed on a memo board. The journaling on the photos is label tape, and for the title I used the notepaper, binder clip, paper clip and tabbed contact card. Pictured upper left is hubby, lower right is my son's BIL, Josh, who caught not one, but TWO flounders during the salmon derby! LOL

And one more 8.5x11 for the fishing album, but no new dies on this one. The label is one of the December releases, run through the printer. Very simple page but I really like the colors and how masculine-looking this page is. (I've requested that these "men's-men" at least rinse off their fish before taking pictures next time. We'll see how that goes. LOL)

QK rolodex project

Having the perfect quote up your sleeve is not always easy, especially when you're doing a card at the last minute. This is a project you can easily add to if you don't have time to organize all your favorite quotes at once. Very handy and fun to make....and a great way to use up scraps too!

I took some of my favorite quotes and printed them on clear labels, all in different fonts. Using one of the new QK rolodex dies, I cut cards from white cardstock and the same number from scraps, adhered the pattern papers to the fronts of the cards then applied the quote label. I made dividers by adding an index tab to cards cut from colored cardstock so it would be easier to find quotes by category.

April QK release is here!! Take a look......

I love the April QuicKutz shapes!!! I have a love--ok, an obsession--for office supplies. It's all candy to me. YUM! The photos are of my own 'stash'...only a tiny bit of my stash I might add {blush}. For the first page I used the 2x2 binder clip, notebook sheet, cc office shapes (push pin, post-it note, and clipboard), bead border, and for the title, Sonja and Diesel Classic.

Journaling reads:
It's true. I confess. I am totally obsessed...as far back as I can remember. Pens, steno pads, crayons, tags, file folders...I love it all. Staples is my candy store!

For the second layout of my scrapping buddy, dgd Gracie, I used the banner border for the computer generated title, the notebook sheet for journaling, and the binder clips for embellishment. To sort of mimic notebook paper, I used the spiral punch by Stampin Up for interest on the background paper. I also used the push pin cuz I just love that guy! Papers here are Basic Grey, Mellow.

Journaling reads:
As you can see by your to-do list, we had so much fun the weekend you came over with your dad during hunting season. We had fun decorating pumpkins for the front porch, you altered a pocket calendar for your teacher, we made cookies and even some fun accessories for our "restaurant" and you earned your fishing and scrapbooking badges for Brownie Girl Scouts. It was a very fun and productive weekend.

Funny card using the cookie cutter office shapes and speech bubble, 0543. I had to ask what the tape was (looks more like a skinny bandaid to me LOL).

Pop top gift can

Mini-Easter basket neighbor gift. This was a fun project. I love doing altered containers! I removed the bottom of a pop top can with a safety opener and glued it back on after I filled it with jelly beans, M&Ms, robins eggs and Easter grass.

List of QK used:
Exclusive Easter bunny and accessories
eggs
mini bow from cc baby shapes
grass
2x2 QK Club pinwheel
market tag (it's on top--can't be seen in the photo)

Just Look at Those Lashes

Pretty much our whole family has rather long eyelashes, but check this out. Cyndi took this photo of Feliciano at his 3rd birthday party last April. His lashes look like an artist's fan brush! LOL. Amazing.

Pattern paper and matching buttons are Basic Grey Mellow. QK used are Rev bookplate, 2x2 QK Club butterfly, bead border, Olivia skinny mini alpha and Honeybee classic alpha. It's too bad the colors are washed out in the scan. This is much prettier IRL. TFL!

mini reminder card

Hubby doesn't always take a lunch to work but if he expects a long day will ask for a sandwich. Inevitably, he will leave it in the fridge when he leaves for work. LOL So I made this little card to put by the coffee maker to remind him. He always has wheat bread, will occasionally have gatorade (thus, the green 'soda'), and likes a boiled egg with his sandwich. Hopefully this will help. ;)

Fun dolls

I thought the little bow for the new Rev doll dress looked like a mustache, so I came up with these little Mr. & Mrs. dolls. Just think how cute they would be for a wedding or anniversary card.

For this card and matching gift box I used the Rev doll with the lantern and branch. I hand cut the chopsticks for her hair and used ribbon for the sash on her dress. For the dress, lantern and take out box I adhered origami paper to white cardstock before cutting. The take out box is a Silhouette design. You can't see in the photo but I used wire for the handle of the box.

Derby

QK used on this page are the Washington state and nesting stars dies, fishing pole, and Blossom mini and Diesel shadows. Bracket was cut with the Silhouette.

Journaling on the back:
Discovery Bay Fishing derby, Valentine's Day weekend 09. Christopher took home a $200 prize for this 12 pound blackmouth salmon Randy and the kids are posing with. The guys had an awesome time.

Fun title treatment using the QK fishing pole and real fishing line.
