Milk carton treats

It was fun to go through my stash of dies (heaven knows I have sooooo many!!!!!) and find a few oldies but goodies for today's projects. I made these little goody boxes to show the milk carton die. This die is and oldie from Quickutz, which is no longer available, but you can find a similar die here at My Creative Time. The finished box measures approximately 2 inches wide by 3 1/2 inches high. I used small shape dies to create the windows.

I've had this cow paper in my stash for years and this was the perfect use for it.

For the candy kisses, I used the Farm Candies stamp set by Jaded Blossom. So cute!!!

This adorable cow and sentiment by Paper Smooches fit the milk theme perfectly.

This version is for St. Paddy's Day. The lips, shamrocks and sentiment are by Peachy Keen Stamps; the shamrock window cut-out and speech bubble tag are by My Creative Time.

My Creative Time Designer Challenge

Happy Monday! Today I'm sharing my entry for the My Creative Time Designer Challenge. I combined the sketch with the color palette and used the adorable robot stamps and dies for this card. I think the robots are just precious!

To make the colorful page elements I used various My Creative Time dies to add stitching to each piece, then drew a border around the large mat with a fine tip sharpie just for fun.

It doesn't really show in the photo, but I clear embossed the robot and the balloon for more texture after I colored with copic markers. Also, I raised the colored card stock background pieces with foam tape. Hope you like! Thanks for coming by today. :)

February SPARKS Challenge, Paper Smooches

The February Designer Sketch is up on the SPARKS Challenge Blog for Paper Smooches. {see sketch below} Click the link for details and link up info. You have until the 28th, so there's still time to play!

For my card I used FOUR Paper Smooches stamp sets, and one die set!

The adorable bunny and carrots are from A Little Lovin', the basket from the Squeaky Clean stamps, and for the grass I used one of the leaves from the Botanicals 2 stamp set. The sentiment is from the Sentiment Sampler. I heat embossed the images with clear embossing powder, and black embossing powder for the sentiment. I love the look heat embossing gives to the already super cute images.

Then, as an added layer of cuteness, I put Mr. Bunny on a wobble!!! LOVE!

Die Cuts Challenge - Melonheadz Friends

Happy Monday and welcome to the newest challenge by Melonheadz Friends! This week's challenge is die cuts....I'm all over that! I hope you'll join me and the rest of the Melonheadz Design Team for this fun challenge.

I used two super cute images from Melonheadz - the crab, from the Ocean Life set, and the sailboat from Beach Vacation - for the focus of my card.

Die cuts I used include this border waves die, cloud, and speech bubble.

The sand is also a border die, cut from sand paper. I love using sand paper for actual sand on my projects. I added a few extras to finish off the love message using Doodlebug hearts sprinkles, bling, and two different sized googly eyes to show Mr. Crab's "crazy in love" face. LOL!

Products Used:
Melonheadz, Ocean Life
Melonheadz, Beach Vacation
My Creative Time, Fun Edge dies; speech bubble die
Jaded Blossom, Under The Sea stamps (pinch me)
My Creative Time, Puffy Hearts Just for You, A Thankful Heart, and Lots of Love stamps (I'm so in love, xoxoxo stamps)
Paper Trey Ink, cloud die
Doodlebug Sprinkles, hearts; bling, foam tape, sand paper, googly eyes, clear embossing powder, copic markers

My Favorite Things, Color Challenge #15

Ohhh, ahhh! Love the color palette for today's challenge! You can go heavy on the blues and kraft for a masculine card, or focus on the red for a less manly version. I leaned more toward cutesy with mine. I had to...this adorable little chick needed to be a part of my project. He's so tweet!

Aside from the chick and the larger of the two circles, the die elements I used are all from the My Favorite Things, Blueprints #22 Die Namics set.

The sweet little chick and sentiment are both from the Somebunny stamp set, also by My Favorite Things. I cut the chick three times using the coordinating Somebunny Die Namics, colored with copic markers, then stacked them with foam tape between the layers. Before adding to my card, I heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Here you can see the dimension the foam tape adds by layering the die cuts. Buttons and twine finish it off perfectly!

CASology Love Challenge

Inspired by Pinterest, I made this clean and simple valentine/love card using only a few ingredients. Couple of splatter stamps, a sentiment, and a couple of dies. Splatter/grungy stamps are always a fun element to add eye catching interest. I used two by Stampin' Up and one by Stampers Anonymous.

The larger heart die is by Quickutz and the small one is Paper Smooches. I cut two of the small hearts and adhered them together for more stability, then used a paper piercer to punch holes - it looks like a button! - to run my twine through and placed it over the large heart with a glue dot.

The cute sentiment is also by Paper Smooches. I took a couple of different stamps from the Love Struck set to make a custom sentiment.

Thanks for coming by my blog. Come back often for lots of inspiration and challenges you can participate in too! :)

MFT Challenge #215

It's Wednesday once again and that means the newest Sketch Challenge is up at My Favorite Things. I used a few different techniques I learned in online card classes to go with my rendition of this week's sketch. I like how it turned out. I started by masking off a circle and lightly inking, then stamped the poppies, by My Favorite Things, using distress inks.

With my water brush, I "watercolored" the images to give them a soft, painted look, then sketched on them with a fine black marker. I also sketched around the masked circle to give it more definition in keeping with the sketch.

The sentiment comes from the same poppy stamp set, and the banner flag is from the Fishtail Flags Stax Dienamics set.

Card Challenge Sketch 215

Products Used:
My Favorite Things, Pretty Poppies stamp set
My Favorite Things, Fishtail Flags STAX dies
My Creative Time, Rectangle Frames dies
Distress Inks: barn door, peeled paint, gathered twigs
Other: masking paper, circle die, water brush, mini mister, water color paper, ink applicator

I love you like......

PayDay is one of the hubs' fave candy bars. I thought this cute sentiment by Jaded Blossom would be perfect for a candy bar wrapper, which is also perfect for the sweet elephants by Paper Smooches.

Couple of valentines for a couple of cuties!

Our adorable little neighbor kids keep us in stitches. I made these little goodies for them for Valentine's Day. The picture doesn't show them, but I used various tiny images and sentiments on die cut circles adhered to the bottoms of the Hershey kisses for more fun; and these tootsie pops are specially wrapped with Valentine sayings on them, valentine M&Ms and a little filler shred. These are super quick and easy to put together if you need something mass produced (i.e. classmates, party, etc.) or for a last minute gift.

"Pattern paper" is actually various washi tapes I put together then cut with a heart die by Quickutz. Dymo label maker for the name, and crop-o-dile to punch the holes.

Sentiment by Jaded Blossom from the Lollipops Galore stamp set.

Paper Smooches, Sparks Challenge

Happy Saturday, crafty bloggers! I have two posts up today, so be sure to click the home tab and scroll to the next post. For my Paper Smooches card I simply HAD to have the new Ahoy Me Hearty stamp set with the awesome pirate theme!! I used the set to create my shaker card for the Anything Goes Sparks Challenge.

I used copic markers to color my parrot then cut by hand and clear embossed the image. The adorable message in a bottle is also part of this set, and of course, the sentiment as well. The porthole is a die by My Creative Time.

In addition to the seed beads I added gold sequins for "doubloons"! :) Fun card. Hope you like!
