Happy Halloween---for realsies!!

...and Happy Hump Day - 3D Wednesday, that is - with My Creative Time. YES! More Halloween! Today we are all making 3D cards. I've never done this diamond fold before so I thought I'd give it a shot for today's project. I have to say I love how it works, and even my hubster was impressed with this piece!

This is the back view of the closed card. The ribbon is actually necessary for this particular card as I made the inside a tad bulky, which you'll see in a minute.

This is a side view of the card without the ribbon closure. Isn't it a cool fold??

And this is the inside/backside. You can see how it would be a little bulkier with all the extra paper pieces on it, than if I had left it all white. The sentiment is from the My Creative Time, Just For You stamp set; spider and webs from Treats for My Sweet.

Message on the front of the card using My Creative Time, Treats for My Sweet stamp set - sentiment and bat are both on this set, btw. I used stickles on the bat and the boo for a little added pizzazz.

For my flower embellishment, I used Martha Stewart punches.

I loved this fun fold so much I decided to make another one. :) This time a Christmas card. I love the light blue and gold color combo of this OLD Wild Asparagus paper I've had in my stash, so here you go. Much simpler than the first version. There are so so so many things you can do with this idea. You could even do it the other way around so that it opens in the front with the 3D diamond shape at the back. Either way, it's a lovely fold.

Thanks for coming by the studio for 3D Wednesday. Be sure to also visit the other designer blogs for more fun 3D card ideas!

Pretty purple wreath card

While I still had the purple papers out I made another card. No sentiment on the outside this time. I'll probably send it to my mother-in-law with "thinking of you" on the inside.

I love how this pretty wreath came out. I was just playing around with it and it turned out so nice I thought it needed a front row seat on a card, so here it is.

Hope you like. Thanks for joining me today. Continued prayers and good thoughts heading east for all those affected by Sandy. Hang in there!!

Martha Stewart hydrangea punches
Martha Stewart branch punch

Warm Wishes

For today's card I used the new Echo Park, Winter Wishes 6x6 paper pad. So many pretty patterns in this collection, and the colors are so pretty together. Even though I don't care for purple, I think that light blue, light purple, and light green is probably my favorite winter color combination.

Sentiment is from My Creative Time, Do The Cocoa Motion stamp set. Flourish dies are My Favorite Things, and background doily-circle is by Spellbinders.

I used the scalloped circle die by My Creative Time to create my flower.

Hope you're enjoying your weekend. And for my east coast friends, stay safe and dry and warm!! You're in my thoughts and prayers. ♥

Spooky greetings

Welcome to the last {I think! LOL} Halloween project of the year. Once again I raided the hubs' workshop and confiscated a few wood scraps and some wire. I had an idea!

And I love how my idea turned out. :) I used black vinyl and Quickutz alphabets for my message, and My Creative Time Treats for my Sweet stamp set.

Curly wire and Quickutz bats make this cute embellishment.

I hope you've enjoyed my Halloween projects and maybe you'll even make some of my ideas. Have a happy and safe Halloween, bloggy friends!

Scrapping The Little Things

How about a break from Halloween for a minute. Today is Scrapping the Little Things with My Creative Time and, while I did originally have a Halloween layout in mind for today, I haven't yet picked up the pics I planned to use, so instead I chose these taken by Miss Grace. She took these at the park when she stayed with us this past summer. Not only is she a great crafter, she's also a pretty darn good photographer at the ripe old age of 11. :)

I used pattern papers from the Sweet Summertime collection by Little Yellow Bicycle. The flower and title sticker are also from that collection.

I used lots of different stamp sets to create these fun journaling tabs. The cute beady thingies are by Martha Stewart. It was a complete accident that the colors match the papers I picked. There were a last minute embellishment that turned out perfectly!

I hope you enjoyed my layout and a little breather from the crafty Halloween bender I seem to have been on lately! Have a great week, crafty bloggers.

Product List:
My Creative Time, Fly Away With Me cloud dies
My Creative Time, Celebrate Good Times
My Creative Time, Have Fun in the Sun
My Creative Time, Just Simply Live
My Favorite Things, banner stax dies
Little Yellow Bicycle, Sweet Summertime collection
Martha Stewart adhesive backed beads

Leaves, wire, and twine are the perfect embellishments.

Thanks for coming by today. I think I might finally be nearing the end of the Halloween projects for the year! Thanksgiving and Christmas on the horizon.... ;)

Hey there, pumpkin!

Seriously??? More Halloween!!???  But, of course!! :) By now you certainly know how much I enjoy making Halloween projects. LOL This is the pumpkin that will adorn my front porch this year. I wasn't sure how I would make my decorations different this year until, you guessed it, pinterest! There are so many clever, gorgeous, funny, and funky ideas from so many awesomely talented people out there, how could a crafter NOT be inspired!

For my little pumpkin I got a piece of black lace from the fabric department, wired ribbon, green coated wire and skeleton head cameo sticker. Took maybe 10-15 minutes or so. Fab if you're looking for a really quick way to dress up your porch. I might just have to do a couple of jumbo sized pumpkins now that this little guy turned out so cute. {adding pumpkins to this week's grocery list}

I had a blast with this project and I'm totally in love with the final result! My finished wreath is approximately 11 inches, quite small. I started with a 5 inch styrofoam circle and wrapped it in dark packing tape (because it was white and it would show through the tulle). Then wrapped strips of tulle until they were snug and fluffy all around. The width and length of the strips will depend on the size wreath form you use and how big you want the finished size to be.

The base for my tag is Spellbinders labels, and the 'boo' sentiment is from the My Creative Time, Treats for my Sweet collection.
This lovely 3D skeleton cameo was a last minute addition I ran across while getting groceries. I love it! It adds just the right finishing touch. This is by Jolee's Boutique.

Handmade paper flowers and matching stick pin. Raven is a quickutz die, heat embossed black on black.

All of these flowers were made with the My Creative Time rolled flower die.

I had some other ideas and time left, so I made these cute little candy creations to leave for my mail lady. I think they came out pretty cute! These are made from Hershey Nuggets. {Crafting is the excuse I use for buying them, so whatever is leftover, of course I must indulge! Can't let it go to waste, can I??!}

3D Wednesday

Hello, and welcome to another 3D Wednesday with My Creative Time. Today's assignment was to alter something. I've been wanting to try this idea for some time and was excited to finally found these mousetraps at the dollar store. They must have thought I was loony getting excited over these, but I'd been looking for weeks and finally asked. They keep them behind the register.......what?! Doesn't make sense to me, but at least I know now that they have them, even if they are too precious a commodity to keep out in the aisle. LOL!

These are lots of fun to make from start to finish. Take them apart and keep only the clip and springs. Cover or paint, embellish if you want to, and voila! Super cute fridge magnets.

Papers are Simple Stories, 25 Days.

The papers I used for the Halloween clip are My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Halloween.

For the sentiment on my Christmas version I used My Creative Time All Around Christmas stamp set. Holy is a Quickutz die, label is Spellbinders.

The Halloween version is my favorite of the two. I used My Creative Time Fly Away With Me banner dies, Mixed Holiday Sentiments stamp set, and the black cat from Treats for My Sweet stamps.
