Eclipse card

Today's card is for my mom. She is going in for hip replacement surgery on Friday (prayers appreciated!) and I wanted to get a card done for her. Blue is her favorite color. :)

I've made lots of dimensional cards before, as you know!, but had not tried this particular style. I didn't know it had a name even, until I saw a video on this design on pinterest. Learn something new everyday, right!?

Today's card is a reveal window card using the Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel Die and coordinating stamp set. Who doesn't love a card that has fun elements that you can play with! This one is for my sister whose birthday was Tuesday (same day as my grandgirl, Olivia, who turned 17 - WAIT, WHAT!???) ... but I digress.

For K's card, I wanted something adult beverage related, so I went with the My Favorite Things Martini Time and Spirited Sentiments sets. Super fun! Here's what I came up with. Leave a comment if you have any questions. It was really quite simple to put together with the die set. Possibilities are endless with this thing!

MFT Summer School, Day 5

Hay girl, hay! Today was the last day of summer school and it's been a fun-filled five days. The lesson for today is Symmetry. Basically, it's all about balance, dividing your space into even segments and adding your elements in an imaginary line. Which you probably do without even thinking about it. Here's my symmetrical card for today's project.

MFT Summer School, Day 4

Just one day left of this session of summer school. Today we're working with complementary colors. That is, colors opposite each other on the color wheel. Here's my card for this challenge.

I'm not really sure what a flamingo has to do with watermelon, except that it is the same color, so there you go. And I thought he looked cute here. LOL I don't have a watermelon stamp or die (I know, right? I couldn't believe it either!!) so I used the MFT Dome STAX dies and colored them with copics to create my watermelons. I dare say they turned out pretty cute. Also, I don't have an MFT flamingo either (really?!) but I have this one from Simon Says.

MFT Summer School, Day 3

Today's lesson is Repetition. Using multiples is a great way to enforce a message or theme in a simple way. On my card, I repeated the sentiment.

Also, I continued the pineapple theme from the background by using larger pineapples behind the focal point of the message.
