ABC April 2025, Day 12 K

Day 12 K - Keys

Maybe you recognize these keys ... they were stickers (until I backed them from cardstock to give them some weight) from years and years ago! I can't remember the brand now, but they were along the lines of Life's Journey or one of those that did vintage style elements. Anyway, I've grunged them up and made them cruddy looking, and I love how they turned out for my key envelope.

ABC April 2025, Day 11 J

J - journal

Today's project is a 4x6 journal with tabs. This can be made with 4x6 index cards, which is how Toni made hers for Day 10, letter I. I thought I had some around here somewhere, but may have used them up in a recipe box or something, so I just cut 4x6 pages from paper. The cool thing about this book design though is the hinges. We used index tabs for hinges to hold the pages together. Such a great idea.

For the main hinges, I wanted them to look old and grungy. Using what supplies I have, this is how it came to be. First, I cut the 'hinges' from a pattern paper that I thought might give a look of 'old' when they were grunged up. Then, I sprayed with vintage photo distress stain and misted with water. Once they dried (I speeded it up by using the heat gun), I mixed some grit paste with a little spray stain in scorched timber and applied it in spots to the hinges. When this dried, I punched the holes and added the brads. Then for the final step. I added foundry wax in spots to make it look more like old corroding metal. They turned out just like I planned and I think they look really cool!

ABC April 2025, Days 7G, 8H, 9I

After my huge project for Day F, I got a little behind and decided to combine these past few days into one project. If this is against the rules, someone tell me. LOL Anyway, it was a fun one even though it isn't nearly as elaborate as the tag book.

I did make this little guy though from one sheet of copy paper. Isn't he cute! It measures about 2 1/4 x 3 inches.

ABC April 2025, Day 6 F

F - fancy fold tag folio, flowers, flora, fleur

This might have been a little bigger project than I was anticipating when I started it for Day F! But I really love it.  I used the aged jumbo tags from Heidi Swapp which are 7 x 3 1/2 inches. Great size for a folio. Lots of real estate to work with and that really makes it fun.

The closure is a simple ribbon slide. No need to untie, it just slides on and off.

ABC April 2025, Day 5 E (more entomology, embellishments and ephemera)

Having too much fun with this month's crafting challenge, so I have more to show you from Day 5.

E - entomology, embellishments, ephemera
These moth digitals from Art House Whimsy are so pretty. Each one cut by hand, mind you. Fussy cutting -my favorite ... not at all, for real.

See you tomorrow for Day 6, F. Not sure yet what my project will be. Any suggestions?

ABC April 2025, Day 5 E

Entomology for today's prompt. I saw this design from Ladyblackblood and Vibe of Vintage on Instagram last night and loved it so much I had to recreate it. Hers is a small, regular sized slide I believe, but mine is a large one, 3x3, so I made templates for the envelopes and other pieces I needed to fit the design. You may notice I also used a piece of the dyed acetate I made for yesterday's prompt, D.

ABC April 2025, Day 4 D

D - Distressing, Dyed cheesecloth, Die

Super quick one today. I used one sheet of letter size kraft cardstock to create this mini book. It's a fun way to make multiples in minutes with minimal supplies (would've been a great one for mass make March, actually). I think most people probably learn this fold in kindergarten, but I didn't have crafty teachers back in those old days. LOL Anyway...

Hubs has always been a fishing addict.

right: (same day) son's daughter
There are a few more pics, but they are more of the same; a grandkid holding a fish they caught. LOL It was just a fun way to revisit some of the old fishing days with the kids. Thanks for looking. :)

ABC April 2025, Day 3 C

C - clipboard
For today's project I started with this Heidi Swapp clipboard (so cute!!!). This one is the larger of the two sizes she makes, and measures 3 x 4 inches. You can find it in her store at heidiswappshop.com She also has a clipboard die and coordinating clipboard stamp set.

Here's my project for today. I sort of tried to make it like an old farmer's planting paperwork. Did I succeed?
