Another birthday

Another grandgirl is turning 20 in about two weeks. Most of our grands are like that - 2 the same age within months of each other. :) The oldest and youngest are on their own, but the middle 6 birthdays are almost like triplets. LOL 

These little clipboard dies from Heidi Swapp are the cutest little guys ever! I had to use one of the card. Well, because they are so stinkin cute. :) I should have placed a ruler near for perspective but I forgot. The small one is approx 2 3/4 x 2 inches, and the large one is about 4 1/4 x 3 1/4.

I used the larger one on today's card. The jumbo tag is 7 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches.

Can you even stand the cuteness of this clipboard!??? I want to make a gazillion of them and stick them on everything. LOL They're just adorable! And the paper actually fits "under" the clip. This is one of two sizes...the other is bitsy and cutie cute cute. Also, I added glossy accents to the pen to give it more realism and dimension. (the pen is from a stamp set by Ellen Hutson called Crafty Lady)

Love the super large die cut numbers! The camera is cut by hand. I love the camera. :) 

Heidi has the funnest stamps and sentiments. These are all from various stamp sets. 

I made a "hinge" so the clipboard could be lifted to see another message beneath, and where we will sign the card. 

Mila turns 20!!

Happy birthday, Mila! No longer a teenager - what?! Have a great birthday, sweet girl. Love you bunches! 

For Mila's birthday card, I made a jumbo tag with mini tags attached. This was such fun to make. All Heidi Swapp, except for the cupcake and wish big sentiment, which are My Favorite Things.

Disclaimer: Wouldn't you know, after I made all (well, most) the family birthday cards the next Heidi release is Happy Birthday?! Murphy's Law strikes me again. Hahaha! You'll be seeing a lot from that release in upcoming posts for sure. 

I love the big number dies and used Heidi Swapp adhesive backed cardstock for these extra elements. 

Ink colors used are Distress Oxide Spun Sugar and Kitsch Flamingo. 

Birthday Wishes class cont'd

This time we have a vellum overlay on the front of the card, plus a pocket for a gift card or pull out message tag.

 Unfortunately, the photo is not showing the fabulous sparkle of the disco ball, to which I added Stardust Stickles. Super cute! 

Keep in mind these designs don't have to be just birthday themed - use the same designs for any message you want to convey, pulling sentiments and fun stamps that fit your occasion! 

Ever made a clear front card?

Today's card is a clear-front card, made with plastic paper (a little different from acetate as it is much heavier and sturdy). I love the way it turned out and will use this technique again. For more info, check out Heidi Swapp's Birthday Wishes Stamp Therapy class here.

Card with a view! So much fun. I love it. 

Inside is free reign. Decorate to your heart's content. It's a birthday, so balloons and cake are a must, right. 

I wish it showed up a little better, but I think you can see the clear dots on the cafe lights and some of the sparkle on the cupcake. So fun to add these embellishments.
