Happy Flag Day

I know, I know, my project isn't flag-gish, but it IS red, white and blue, right? ;) I love this stamp set by Paper Smooches. It's called Wicked Nauticool, isn't it cute!

The anchor is a die, also by Paper Smooches. Reminds me of Cap'n Crunch. LOL

Adorable little sailboat, heart, and waves are individual stamps in the set. Sentiment also in the set, as is the chain stamp.

These sweet little flag are individual stamps. My banner does not spell out a message, it's just for the sake cuteness. :)

Thrifty Thursday

Welcome to Thrifty Thursday, were the MCT Design Team uses scraps or recycled items on our projects. Today's theme is circles. 

I love polka dots, so I used scraps of polka dot paper for my circles - like a double whammy! ;) And to add even more to the theme, I embossed the card front with tiny dots all over. Fun, simple, and quick card. 

Sentiment is by My Creative Time from the Floral Sentiments stamp set.

3D Wednesday--Patriotic Theme

Today's 3D project was to be red,white and blue - a patriotic theme. I chose to make this adorable mini wooden flag, inspired by a larger project I made for my etsy shop (pics at the end of this post).

For this mini flag, I used a chunk of 2x4 cut to 4 inches. After sanding just a bit and smoothing the edges of the block, I painted a coat of white acrylic paint over one side. When it was thoroughly dry, I masked off the upper left corner and painted that blue. Always wait for each color to dry before proceeding to the next; it dries pretty quickly. I painted the red stripes next. Then I made a mask the size of the blue square and cut a star in the center which I then used as a stencil to paint the star. My sentiment is from the My Little Firecracker stamp set by My Creative Time. I didn't use any special ink or paint, just my regular Memento Tuxedo Black. Now you can seal it if you wish, or leave it as is. I use matte finish Mod Podge for mine. Only one coat was all I needed on this one. I love the shabby/rustic look of the finished block.

Today is grandgirl, Courtney's, birthday. I made her a shaker card because I love making shakers!

I also love to make my own shaker filler. These adorable little bits are from the Party die by Cuttlebug.

For the cupcake I used the Create a Critter cartridge (this is from the poodle cut). My stamped background is by My Creative Time, from the Celebrate Good Times stamp and die set. Even the adorable confetti is included in that stamp set.
