Fairy gift card envelope

There's really no project these beautiful fairy images don't work with. For this week's project, I used the Star Shine fairy, available at Queen Kat Designs, on a gift card envelope and embellished with prima flowers, lace and pearl bling.





I wanted to show the shimmery look of the Spica pen on the fairy's dress but sadly the photo doesn't do it justice. Still, very pretty and just enough to enhance without overwhelming in your face glitter.

Today I'm sharing a few projects using dies from the LC Essentials, Summer CHA release. This one is the coin envelope and two sizes of the nesting ovals.

Using the smaller of the two chosen ovals, cut the window opening (pick what size you want the window to be, then choose one a little bigger).

Now, using the larger of the two ovals, cut the window from plastic. You can use almost any thin plastic you have; cut from die packaging, sheet protector, sticker backing. For this one, I've used a sheet that comes with acrylic stamps. It's very sturdy.

Adhere the plastic oval over the window opening using liquid glue. (You can also just cut a rectangle and tape it on there if you want to, since it will be on the inside.)

Fold and glue your envelope.

Embellish if you wish.

Insert gift card and note for gift giving.

And the pillow box. I love boxes and envelopes and pockets....if you hadn't noticed! The pillow box is perfect for a quick little thank you gift or for a little something for a special someone. I used a scallop oval and plastic for the window in the top one and filled with chocolate peanuts, chocolate raisins and mini marshmallows, and the tiny cookie cutter gingerbread man in the bottom one filled with spice drops. The green one has tea bags and splenda inside. I love that tea cup paper from the Halloween in Wonderland collection by Graphic 45. It's perfect for a coffee/tea gift.

There you have only a couple of ideas from this fabulous release! There is so much that can be done with these! These are definite must-haves for a papercrafter's die collection.

Lovable button bear

I used the sweet Button Bear by Buggy Designs for this card, which could easily be a valentine really. I also used various hearts and the nesting tickets from the LC Black Friday release. "UR" is Metro skinny mini and "lovable" is a stamp. I colored the bear with copics and outlined him to give him more definition. His "belly button" is cardstock.

Pattern papers are October Afternoon, Thrift Shop. Border punch is Martha Stewart.

embossed ornaments card

Quick and easy card using QK/LC cookie cutter ornament and snowflake dies. Probably the fastest card I've ever made!!! But I love the look. The ornaments look so elegant.

I simply laid out the dies in the configuration I wanted them and ran them all through my BigShot at the same time. I wanted to keep the focus on the elegant ornaments so I kept the design minimal using a single strip of ribbon for each ornament hanger. One pretty bling for each ornament and done!

I've been busy making Christmas goodies, decorating and getting the tree up this week. So it seemed only fitting that this week's project is a layout of my daughter, Cyndi, making goodies last Christmas. I love using non-traditional themes and colors for Christmas pages so having dies that coordinate with the bird and cage on these Christmas papers is pretty cool, dontcha think! These papers are from My Mind's Eye, Wonderful Winter stack.

Title is QK/LC Winter Wishes font. Bird and cage are Cottage Cutz, and beaded oval frame is Spellbinders.

I cut the birdcage from metallic paper...

...and colored the "bluebird" to match the brown and red birds on the paper.
