Autumn Harvest time

Oh my goodness, I love the Harvest font in this release! It seems to be almost "pilgrimish" in style. I think it's my favorite part of the Thanksgiving release. For this page, I used the bushel basket and sign with the new ear of corn die, KS0976. Twig is made from the leaf center and berries from the Rev 0248 autumn leaves.

To add texture, I ran the corn cobs through the dots goosebumpz then inked them for even more dimension.

Here I've used the scroll tree border, minus the mini leaves that come with it on a separate cookie cutter die. Great idea, QK! Love that. Large title leaves and berries are Rev 0248. Title fonts are Magnolia, Moonlight and Jacqueline.

On this page I used jewel leaves instead of the falling leaves that come with it.

This month's QK Club die is a wishbone. How cute is this! I've used the Harvest font and scalloped oval on this card

and on this card, the wishbone on the 2x2 scalloped journal circle.

Two layouts

This page was bugging me but I couldn't figure out why....then it hit me. This was not Mother's Day, it was my birthday! LOL So I've changed the date since I scanned this. Silly me.

Pattern papers are Basic Grey, Eva. QK used - label, SOF nesting circles & flowers, 3D nesting flowers, Moonlight, Supermarket and Chick-a-dee (exclamation point) alphas. Hearts are Cuttlebug.

For this page of Cyndi and Jeffery at the Point, I used Basic Grey, Granola. Love the color palette in this line. QK used --hedgehog, Disco and Stardust alphas, and circle border embossing folder.

Altered album cover

I've had this 6x6 recipe book on the shelf waiting for an altered cover for years (yes, I'm embarrassed to admit--YEARS!) after I participated in a holiday recipe swap. It was just one of those things that didn't scream out at me I guess. Well, yesterday during some purging, rearranging, and tieing up loose ends, I FINALLY added the finishing touches to the album. Yay! I think it turned out pretty cute. Hope you like.

I used rubons along the side, added ribbon and a tiny metal spoon. For the title, I used the QuicKutz mixing bowl and spoon, Spellbinders nesting ovals and scallops, and for the drips I used Dimensional Magic. I love that stuff and need to remember to use it more often.

Two new exclusives from Scrapbuggy!!

The rag doll die was designed by Emma, of Scrapbuggy, for whom she was named. Isn't she sweet? I love this photo of Cyndi and Sally when they were just 2 and 3. We had this picture taken at the fair. In addition to the new rag doll, I've used the Chandelier alphabet, nesting ovals and scallops by Spellbinders, and the flourishes are parts of the exclusive flourish border by ScrapMart. Papers are Life's Journey by K&Co. (Sorry for the slightly crooked scan.)


I dug out these old photos of our trip to Sea World so I could use the dolphins. The pics were pretty crappy but actually look pretty good when cropped off and showcased in this border frame. I used the photo frame border with the squares border to make a large film strip. Accent waves are from the Relax gift set, title fonts are Nutmeg and Moonlight.

Sad news in Muppetland

(AP) EPHRATA, Washington (Jul 09) -

Muppet lovers were stunned to learn of the discovery made by local residents, Grace and her grama, of what at first appeared to be a chicken, as they made their way to Patrick Park one day this past July.

"At first glance we thought it was just another drunk chicken in a flower bed", the pair reported, "but on closer inspection, we were shocked and saddened to see it was not just any chicken, but Elmo from Sesame Street, dressed in a chicken costume...and wreaking of alcohol."

The reason for Elmo's unexpected demise is still unclear at this time. It is speculated that after a night of partying, an inebriated Elmo, making his way back to his owner's residence while still in costume, was likely accosted by the family dog, rendering the muppet unconscious, subsequently abandoning the toy in a flower bed on Roosevelt Street. Elmo Muppet, whose owner has yet to be contacted, remains among the flowers.

A reward is being offered for any information leading to the identification of the dog in question. At this time no charges have been filed and the dog is not considered a suspect, but is certainly a dog of interest.

I had so much fun doing this layout! The story came about as we came across this poor Elmo toy in the flower bed on our way to the park. We made up a story as to how he came to rest here and it just kept going getting funnier and funnier!

For the "newspaper clipping" I printed my journaling on yellow/ivory cardstock to mimic newsprint leaving lines around the text boxes. I made the Sesame Street sign using rounded rectangles, a half circle and Studio skinny mini alphabet. Title font is Diesel Classic, stars are from the USA set and the negative is from the exclusive Archiver's photo strip border. Stitching is actually rubons.
