Melonheadz Design Team

Happy Monday and welcome to the latest Melonheadz Challenge. Please join me and the rest of the Design Team for "Add Sparkle!" Who doesn't love sparkle!??

First up is my people shaped card. I so relate to this girl, especially on a Monday, amirite!?? LOL This image is a freebie file from a few years ago. I just love her! She isn't exactly sparkly, but her coffee cup is!

While you can't see it in the images, I also used clear glitter Wink of Stella in her hair and on her bunny slipper ears. It's very cute, sorry I wasn't able to capture it here. I used my Cricut Explore to make the card, welding two images back to back, mirroring one of them. I cut the colored image separately and slightly smaller, then adhered it to the front of the card.

My inside message is made using three stamp sets; Verve stamps, Better With You (coffee ring stain) and My Creative Time, Family is Everything and All You Need is Coffee to create my one of a kind sentiment.

I didn't stop there though! I have another project for you today as well. A scrapbook page! Been so long since I did a layout and I really enjoyed putting this one together. I used the Little Miss Kindergarten Cinco de Mayo Part 1 bundle. Notice the touches of stickles on the banner, maracas, sombrero and salsa set. Love that stuff for adding just a bit of sparkle! Nikki's images are so adorable and embellishing them is only part of the fun. I can't wait to add pics to my scrapbook page.

I love the cute title, and added the little sombrero for extra fun.

The super cute banner and maracas are also part of this colorful digi set...

.....as are the bowls of chips and salsa. Cute cute cute!! All images are printed in color and stickles accents added.

Thanks for coming to the studio today. I hope you'll join me and the team for this fun challenge! Be sure to visit the Melonheadz Etsy Shoppe for tons and tons of fun digi images to play with!!

I used three Paper Smooches sets to create my card; Spiffy Scooters stamp set for the sentiment, and for the adorable rolling pin, the Kitschy Kitchen stamps and coordinating icons. The rolling pin is so darn cute!!

I cut several of the rolling pin dies, colored with Copics, and choosing the best one for the top, layered them with foam tape for dimension. You can't really tell in the photos, but I also heat embossed the top layer with clear powder for texture and fun! Thanks for looking!

Melonheadz Friends, 2 or more pattern papers

This week's Melonheadz Friends challenge is to use 2 or more designer papers. I used shades of blues from Doodlebug and October Afternoon for my boy birthday card. The adorable baseball player is from the Sports, Franklin Lewis (black/white) set.

I colored his uniform in Mariners colors and gave him number 34, Felix Hernandez, my grandson's favorite player. :)

Clear embossed the image after I colored it with my copic markers and added the rub-on numbers to his jersey. So much fun! I know Feliciano will love it.

My Favorite Things, Sketch Challenge 222

I used this week's sketch challenge design to make a belated birthday card. Completely spaced on a friend's birthday (I think she'll forgive me; she knows I also have 6 family birthdays in March as well as hers!) Anyway, here is my card. I didn't stray much from the sketch, actually.

I used elements from three My Favorite Things die sets, plus a partial sentiment from the Birthday Sentiments stamp set.

Foam tape lifts the stars for dimension, and sequins add texture.

My Favorite Things, Color Challenge 18

Couldn't wait to use the adorable kitty dies and stamps by My Favorite Things, from the I Knead You set. Isn't he so sad, lying there all forlorn. :( Poor, sad, kitteh.

He has a soft, cushy rug to lay on, though. ;) I used a narrow oval to create the rug using pattern paper in the colors of the challenge. After coloring my kitty with copic markers, I heat embossed with clear powder.

Of course, I had to cut several and layer them.....that's just how I roll. Foam tape rules!
