OCC, Day 7&8 Faux Hand Painting

Today's lesson is making a stamped image look as though it is hand painted. I don't know how well I did with that, but I like the end result and I guess that's the important thing. Here is the card I made with the finished piece from today's class. Hope you like. :)

I started with the poppy stamps from My Favorite Things. I have so few suitable images, I've had to use this one a few times. {Not to worry, however. I have more stamp sets en route and can't wait for them to arrive so I can play with these class techniques a lot more!}

I used Distress Inks to "paint" my image, ripe persimmon, spiced marmalade, and dried marigold for the flowers themselves, walnut stain for the center, and for the stems and leaves, forest moss and peeled paint.

The script stamped image on the left of the card is also part of the poppies stamps set and the sentiment is by Technique Tuesday. Thanks for looking! :)

  1. Love the bright colors and how pretty the flower stamped out. I like the way the dots pick up on the red flowers and the green twine is tied so nice and fluffy. Fabulous job!
