Halloween Party card

Happy Saturday and welcome to the weekend edition of the studio blog! For those of you who are like me and spending the holiday weekend at home, I will be right here creating in my studio. My favorite thing to do in my favorite place on earth! Also, a reminder that the My Creative Time blog hop continues and the coupon code (AUGUST2013) for 20% off in the MCT store is good through Friday, Sep 6...not just on the new release but on your entire order! So there's that. Plus prizes, so if you haven't hopped yet, you might want to do that too.

Ok, so my card today is another Halloween party invite type deal. I love making Halloween projects!!! On today's invite I used several My Creative Time products, old and new, as well as a few from Paper Trey Ink, and Peachy Keen Stamps.

The flags, ticket, banner and all stamps are My Creative Time.

The adorable little monster guy is by Paper Trey Ink, as are the clouds. His ghoulishly frightening face is from the Peachy Keen, Make a Monster Face Assortment. His patches are MCT, and he is also on a wobble for extra scaryness!

All the papers this time are from the MME 6x6 designer pad, Mischievous. I used the Zutter Distrezz-it-All (by Donna Salazar) to "distrezz" the edges of the mat before adhering to the front of the card. I love that thing. Anyway, there you have it. :) Hope you're having a great weekend!

Welcome to Friday. It's finally here....the big blog hop. What a super fun release this is!! I hope you've enjoyed all the previews as much as we have enjoyed working with this release. Here's my project for today. If you look hard, you will see I used SIX of the new releases, and another THREE previous sets!! This cool paper is MME, Lost and Found Halloween.

Starting at the top, I used the flourish and bat from the Fright Night set; "let's" from Let's Celebrate, stitched spooky ghost die, stitched party die banner, and the letters from Just Simply Live.

Here you see the spider, embossed in black, from the new Fright Night set, the flag from the Chocolate Greetings set.....

.....the glass (wish you could see it in person; it's clear plastic over vellum and looks super cool IRL!) from the Cocktail Party dies, wine glass tag from the Chunky Jar Accessories dies, and sentiment from the new Some Days Simply Require... stamp set. I used a jump ring around the glass and glass pebbles for potion bubbles to go with the gooey green concoction in the wine glass. So creepy and fun! ;)

Paint your own watercolor backgrounds

More fun with watercolors. Grace and I had fun painting on watercolor paper. Here are a couple of cards I made from some of the colorful backgrounds I painted, inspired by Ken and Teri of Spellbinders in their Try it Tuesday segment.

For the first card I used the hexagon and journaling dies by My Creative Time. The butterfly is a punch.

From this angle, you can see the clear embossed background I made using the MCT hexagon background stamp.

Sentiment is from the Color Me Happy stamp set, also by My Creative Time.

The next card again utilizes the journaling die.

Again I used a background stamp but this time embossed with white. This is the cloud background by MCT. The image is by Inkadinkadoo which I heat embossed in white as well.

I also added diamond stickles to parts of the weeds for a little more pizzaz. Sentiment is from the Tab Notes stamp set by MCT.

Product List:
My Creative Time, Hexagon dies
My Creative Time, Hexagon background
My Creative Time, Journaling card die
My Creative Time, Cloud background
My Creative Time, Color Me Happy
My Creative Time, Tab Notes
Martha Stewart butterfly punch
Inkadinkadoo, Meadow stamp
Stickles, ribbon, embossing powders, staples, ink, glass pebbles

Designer Challenge, BACK TO SCHOOL

Good morning and welcome to another edition of Designer Challenge with My Creative Time.  This week's challenge is by Cathryn who has chosen a Back to School theme. I've made these goody bags for the grands using MCT All Around Everything and All Around Everything Accessories stamp sets. I think they turned out pretty cute and I'm sure the grands will love them. :)

The tags were quick and easy using the Stitched scallop and circle die set, simply tied with twine.

I didn't think the notepads were all that pretty for kidlets.....

...so I recovered them with cuter paper. And the cute little crayon boxes fit perfectly inside the Slider Treat Box!!!

I also added a kool aid singles and a lollipop to each goody bag. Simple and fun, and I know the kids will be happy to receive them. :)

Product List:
My Creative Time, Slider Treat Box
My Creative Time, Stitched Scallop and Circle die set
My Creative Time, All Around Everything stamps
My Creative Time, All Around Everything Accessories stamps
My Creative Time, Circle Font stamp set

3D Wednesday

Hello, hello bloggy friends. I have a super fun 3D project for you today for My Creative Time. I hope you like!

I made this little treat bag using the curly label die, chunky jar accessories die, and the tape die from Just Simply Live. Sentiments are from the Mixed Holiday Greetings stamp set. Oh. And googly eyes!

Isn't my little graveyard cute?! I used the cartoon cloud dies for mounds of dirt around the tombstone, and for the mummy - the potty people man cut from chipboard and wrapped in twine! I love that guy!

Here's my not-so-haunted-looking little house. The pumpkin is actually the center of the daisy die! I love that it turned out so cute. The house itself is actually a mini milk carton! I cut the door by hand and punched the windows with tiny circle dies.

For the roof shingles I used the curly die and put a flickering tea light candle inside -- which you can't really see in these daytime photos. :/ I couldn't get any decent night shots, I'm afraid.

Hope you enjoyed this little project.

My Creative Time, Curly label die

My Creative Time, Daisy die

Thoughtful Thursday

Happy Friday-Eve, bloggy friends! ;) You know what that means....tomorrow is FRIDAY! My most favorite day on the whole calendar! Yippee! Today's card is super simple, but I think it is striking, nonetheless. This will be sent to my uncle who is going through some stuff and I just want him to know he's in our thoughts.

I used watercolor paper, spritzing with a light mist of water, then swiping across chipped sapphire distress stain, and broken china distress stain; then I dried it thoroughly with a heat gun.

I used Hero Arts mid-tone navy shadow ink for the image, and stamped the sentiment in black. I suppose I could have gone with the navy for that too...I just didn't. LOL

Product List:
My Creative Time, This and That sentiment set
Technique Tuesday, Growing Wild mini poppies image
Tim Holtz Distress Stains, Chipped Sapphire and Broken China
Inks, watercolor paper

And for the last entry by my guest designer, Grace made this thoughtful card to send to her cousins. She loves the adorable little children stamps from the Fly Away With Me set by My Creative Time, and thought the sentiment, from I Believe in Leprechauns, was fun. But she was most thrilled to have a litte lesson in blending using Copic markers. She is in love with Copics. LOL

On the back, her made by hand "handmade" 'stamp' ! Cracked me up. You see she is still under the influence of Dr. Who, also. Haha!

Thanks for stopping by the studio. Hope you're having a great week .... the weekend is just around the corner!
