Thoughtful Thursday

Happy Friday-Eve peeps! Today's the day where we share projects made for someone who needs a few extra good thoughts. I used these small hexagons with paper scraps from the My Minds Eye, Lime Twist, Fly a Kite collection. I love the combination of patterns and colors and they are so cheerful together I thought this would be a great pick-me-up.

My card base is also from the scrap pile where I had lopped off a chunk of a larger piece of folded cardstock and was left with this 5 1/2 x 3 inch card. Like the Miley Cyrus Show skit on SNL,  ♫ ♪ it's pretty  cool. ♫ ♪ {LOL!}

Sentiment is from My Creative Time, Teeny Tag Greetings, and the tiny butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch.

That's it. Super simple and packs a wallop. ;) Hope you're enjoying our Thursday projects today. And guess what.....tomorrow is FRIDAY so smile!

Super cute gift bag for 3D Wednesday

Good morning!!! Welcome to another awesome 3D project with My Creative Time. I super love this adorable little gift bag idea I found by Silvey tutorial. This cute little bag takes just one piece of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock.

Here is my first version which I thought would be cute for a guy gift. I used screw brads and the necktie to man it up. ;)

This is what it looks like all folded and ready to fill.

For this one I made a matching card. Love the guyness of the colors and paper patterns!

For this version, I left off the handle and closed it with ribbon. There are so many ways this cute bag can be decorated, I had to stop making them. LOL

My Creative Time rolled flower die.

But I didn't stop quite yet. You know me, I had to put my own spin on it. So gave a shot at scaling it down to see what it would look like in a smaller version. Oh my. LOVE! :) Here's the comparison.

So cute, isn't it!!?

The back with a sweet gift tag

Noms inside!

For this one I used a Velcro dot closure.

There are so many fun ways to use this one. It would be a great little jewelry gift box, for example. But with Easter coming in a few days, I had yummies to put inside. ;) Thanks for visiting. I hope you'll try this adorable  and super easy gift bag!

Let's get scrappy

Welcome to another scrappy Monday here in the studio. As I think of spring already here and summer not too far away, I can't help but feel a shiver for the midwest and east coast with all the snow they are having! That is just crazy nonsense, if you ask me! I wonder who put Mother Nature in such an awful mood!! Stay warm friends and be careful out there. ♥

And with that, here is my scrapbook page of Grace at summer camp a couple of years ago. The sketch is by Becky Fleck. When I saw it I had to use it for this page. I loved every single element and copied it almost exactly using fun dies and stamps by My Creative Time.

Here are the stitched ticket dies with coordinating stamps, chunky jar accessory key die, and circle font stamp set. The flower petal dies and stitched button are also My Creative Time dies.

Along with the ticket and circle stamp, I used the vintage label banner die.

Once again, the circle font set, and for the actual circles, I used the die from the Build a Banner kit, and for my title, Have Fun in the Sun stamp set; everyday Bingo set for the cute little flip flop.

Happy Camper

As much as I love Fridays, today is a teeny sad as it is my last day sharing on Obsessed With Scrapbooking. It's been such a fun week and I thank Joy so much for allowing me to occupy her crafty space this week! ♥

Every summer the cousins, my grands, do a family camping trip. Today's project utilizes the Campin Critters cartridge....LOVE that cart! I'm sharing this book I made for Mila, one of my adorable, talented and crafty grandgirls. ;) Mila, 8, is very artistically talented and loves to draw and write constantly. This book holds all unruled pages so she can draw and write during the campout this summer. Finished size is 6 x 4 1/4 inches.

The intro page using a sentiment by My Creative Time, and super adorbs trailer stamp by Market Street Stamps.

I used My Creative Time stitched ticket die and label font stamp set to make a cute name tag. I didn't use kraft paper however. I used my all time fave homemade chipboard using a cracker box! Two cuts, back to back, then punched with the crop-o-dile. If you haven't tried this technique, go finish off the crackers and scrap the box. You'll love it!!!!

The trailer on this cartridge is so stinkin' adorable, I had to make it!! Is this not the cutest thing ever! Using coordinating pattern papers to the book label, I used it on the gift card that will accompany the book.  It even has REAL windows!! I used acetate for the windows and popped the trailer off the background with foam tape.

Super fun papers are Away We Go, My Minds Eye, 6x6 paper pad. I used cloud dies by My Creative Time and Quickutz. Fishtail tags and sentiments also by My Creative Time. Except the 'explore' one...that's a Market Street stamp.

The finished card. Hope you like!

Thanks SO VERY MUCH to Joy for allowing me to play this week, and to everyone who was so kind to leave a comment. Also big thanks to those who are new followers on my blog!! I'm thrilled you find my work worthy and will see you over there next time!! BIG HUGS

Designer Challenge Thursday

This week's challenge is by DT member, Kim. She has given us this super cool tic-tac-toe challenge!!! Choose any tic-tac-toe -- diagonal, vertical or horizontal -- and use those three items in your project. Super fun! I chose to use the pattern paper, twine and bling for my project as you can see by the red arrow. :)
For my sweet little treat purse, I used My Creative Time tri-fold card die, ignoring the pre-scored lines and making my own to create this stand up purse.

The petal dies make the perfect embellishment, along with the sweet little tag from the Chunky Jar Accessories dies, and stamp from the Teeny Tag Greetings set.

Inside is a little zip bag which I hole punched and tied onto the card through the back.

This one has a Velcro dot closure.

While I had the die out, I decided to make a couple more candy treat pouches. I was on a roll! ;)

For this one, I used the flower background stamp from Bloom Where You are Planted and heat embossed on the front. Under the flap, which I secured with repositionable tape so it can be easily opened, I used a sentiment from that same set. I made my own score lines on this one as well, folding where appropriate to fit the candy and close the top flap. And, of course, double-sided paper is prettiest. :)

These are the perfect size for Ghirardelli squares and make a great thank you or thinking of you treat. I secured the candy square to the card with a glue dot. Easy peasy!

Miss you bunches

You may know Joy, formerly from Everyday Cricut and still from  Obsessed with Scrapbooking. She has been so kind to let me play on her blog this week as Guest Designer. I"m having a blast, I must say! Thanks again, Joy!!! :)

Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge for my card again today. There's something about that cart that is just adorable and gets the creative juices flowing. I'm a huge fan of puns, so that's what hit me when I saw the banana after yesterday's monkey card.

Peachy Keen faces have an expression for anything you could possibly want, and this sad face is how I feel when I start missing my scrapping buddy and grandgirl, Grace, who hasn't been able to visit in a while. I always look forward to the time she spends with us in the summer and can't wait for this year either. This card will go to her. Hurry up, summer vaca! I need my crafting buddy. ;)

The sweet faces are from a recent Peachy release, Erkle and Merkle faces. So cute, aren't they.

The stitched heart and stitched tag dies are by My Creative Time...

...as is the lowercase alphabet die set. I popped each letter with foam tape for dimension. A fave technique I use a LOT. Hope you've enjoyed my projects so far this week. I'd love it if you pop over and follow my blog as well so you don't miss a single future project!

Flying monkey

Good morning!Once again I've used the Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge for this card. I have this weird thing for monkeys {not so much real life ones though - I guess I'm two-faced that way LOL}. At any rate, this baby monkey is too cute for words so  he's today's pick! Also, I'd like to give a quick shout-out to my daughter and my dad who share a birthday today! :)

I used circle and doily dies for my backdrop and tied his tail with twine.

My sentiment stamp and cloud dies are by My Creative Time.
