Birthday boy

Ok, he's not a boy anymore *sniff, sniff* but he is my man-child. Today is my stepson's -- who has been mine since he was a toddler -- 35th birthday. My dad told me, "You got your boy the easy way." LOL  Wasn't it just yesterday I was trying to coax him down from that tree top?! The one he made it partway down without falling the rest of the way and crashing through the branches with a thump....only to come up laughing and scratched all up from the trip down. He scared the life outta me a million times and always came out with a smile on his face and smelling like a rose. That lucky star still follows him everywhere...thank goodness! He needs it! ;)

For his card I decided I had to use this stamp I got a while back. Love this old pickup truck from Magnolia stamps. Perfect for man cards. I used his birth date as the license plate. His dad says he won't notice but I think he will see it right away.

I put the truck on a wobble. It's an old pickup, I'm sure the shocks are about shot. ;)

Sentiment from My Creative Time, Celebrate Good Times stamp set.

Hug your kids and tell them you love them. Time goes by too fast and before you know it, they have their own kids to hug and love. :)

  1. Best wishes for the Birthday Boy! Thanks for sharing your touching memories and words of wisdom! I adore this card with its dilapidated charm. I'm sure he'll notice his cleverly placed birth date!

  2. I love how you come up with these ideas :D The guy papers, how you did the sentiment and to put the truck on a wobble is perfect. To put his birthday on the license plate?? Clever!
