It's FRIDAY! :)

My favorite day is here. Friday makes me happy. :) And it's a good thing too because my little scrapping buddy, Miss Grace, who has been scrapping with me since she was 3 years old, turned 12, yeah T-W-E-L-V-E, yesterday!!! I'm beside myself. :{ I miss her so much and can't wait for summer when she'll be coming to stay with us again. We got craftin' to do!!! The good news is, we are able to text and email daily. *happy*

In the meantime, I craft alone....with hundreds of internet buddies! This is what I made for Grace's birthday from some of her outgrown jeans. You may remember I made several denim goodies for the grands for Christmas. Well, I knew I wanted to make a larger bag for Grace, with a shoulder strap as she requested. When I started cutting yesterday I had no idea what the finished bag would look like. But I am please with the finished product and it took only a few hours.

This is a full sized shoulder bag which I know Grace will use a lot more than she will the little bag. That was just a warm up. LOL For the closure flap on this one, I used pieces of the original waist band; the original button on the front, and the original button hole on the back which flaps over the button just like it did on the original pants, only vertically. I really like this bag and now I want one for myself too! {I stuffed it with fat bubble wrap for the picture so you can see the shape.}

Here is a better view of how the front pocket is laid out. Pocket piece itself is a pocket in addition to the pocket and change pocket from the original jeans, making three pockets! I love that the belt loop can be used for hanging charms or whatever, and you can keep your cell phone and keys securely in the large pocket for easy access. I used the My Creative Time scalloped heart die and Spring Chicken floral background stamp to make this charm from shrink film.

If you'd like to make super cute heart charms too, check out the scalloped heart die at My Creative Time. Your imagination will run wild once you start shrinking! ;)

  1. Happy birthday to Miss Grace! She is going to adore this bag! I've got a few pair of my girls' outgrown jeans saved up. Now, you've got me itching to sew! (I don't think I've sewn a thing since the summer!) I'd love one for myself, but the girls will come first.
    Happy HAPPY FRIDAY!
