Matchbox card

Isn't this a cute idea? It's sort of like an oversized matchbox -- a gift box with a card attached, shared by Sarah Hamer of Pink by Design. I made this one during Sarah's Ustream, but you can get more info on her blog too. For this one I used a simple sliding twine closure. I love how easy it was to make too.

Here's the open box.

I don't know yet what will go inside, but I love the size of it and can't wait to fill it up. And be sure to check out Sarah Hamer's project on the Pink by Design blog too! Thanks for looking.

Product List:
Bazzill textured cardstock
handmade paper flower
ribbon, twine, stamps, washi tape

More ideas from the studio

One of the best things in my craftroom is the closet door I painted with chalkboard paint. What a great place to keep a list of ideas or to keep the kids occupied while you work on your own projects. The box of chalk I picked up at the dollar store all those years ago is still nearly full too. If you have a door or empty wall space you can use chalkboard paint on, I highly recommend it! I'm considering doing this with the inside of my pantry door in the kitchen as well. Cool huh??

Just a peek...beautiful baby boy mini book

This is just a sneak....sorry!!!....of the mini book that will be going on Etsy this week. Shades of blue, brown and green; lots of tags and space for journaling and photos; ribbon tie closure. It really turned out beautifully. It would be a lovely baby shower gift, new mom gift, or first time grandma gift.

Thanks for looking. Coming this week to the Etsy store {it will also appear in the slideshow on the sidebar when it's listed}

Lightening strikes, yikes!

We had quite the show the other night....or I should say I did; hubs was long past sawing logs at this time of night. Me, I'm a night owl, always have been. It was nearly 1 a.m. but I went outside to see if I could catch some of it on camera. Lightening is awfully tricky. Every time I waited right it would strike left, and vice versa. I did get a couple of shots, but nothing like the true, light-up-the-sky-like-daytime strikes. Amazing!

Here's my feeble attempt. Pitch black outside, had no idea what was in my view, but I got this little one between the power lines. Then the rain came down in HUGE drops, more like plops, and by the bucket. It was pretty cool.

Gracie Crafts

We had a great time while Grace was here....as always! Here are a few of the scrappy projects she made!

Door hanger for her room. Evidently she is often disturbed. Hahaha! Notice she also did her own hand stitched border! Grama is so proud!!! :)

Chocolate card she made for a friend using QK mini kiss die and My Creative Time, Cocoa Motion stamp set.

And her layout. The girls have grown up so much....these pics are several years old now. They have never gone to school together but know each other from Girl Scouts. They are still scouts and buds. :)

I'm working on some wood crafts at the moment but also got some pics printed so I'll be putting a couple of layouts together to post soon too. Keep your eyes peeled. LOL
